    Carpenter is to good for the Tigers. Robertson isnt that strong, he started this year strong and finished like his real self. I expect to see the sub 4.5 pitcher rather than the sub 3.5 earlier this year. I didnt know the Cards were as bad as the Cubs vs the lefties this year, they are pretty bad. Anyway they turn there luck tonight. FREE TACOS!! Pujols takes Nate deeeeep.

    THE CUBS??!! Ban him! :P Who brought up the 2002 'Luckeyes', damn you. Throughout the whole year i thought they were so overrated. The purdue game was the game that put me over the edge. I forgot about the Illini and Cincy game and right now cant remember the UM/OSU game so dont remind me, im sure to shake my head and say 'yup wtf' if you do. They were massive underdogs going against miami and people questioned if they should even play for the NC. As much as i couldnt stand the enoromous amount of luck involved in that season they had a great defense and felt they could definelty beat Miami. I can see many parallels from that team to this ND team. Its not that i hate ND (i dont i grew up liking them, just not as much as UM). ND as much as we think they are overrated they probably werent as overrated as i thought OSU was at that time. For College Footbal that offense was 2005 Chicago Bears esque.

    But if the slotting system is put in effect doesnt it benefit them? For instance they can draft guys like JD Drew, Jared Weaver without being held hostage to their $ demands and have those guys play in majors soon. Small market teams cant afford to not sign a top 10 pick so they go the safe route and get the signable guy. If i was small market id want the better chance to sign a great player than get compensation for some pick that is say a #20 or a sandwhich pick between the #32 and 45 pick.

    After you posted this i checked rivals. Yeah, looking really quickly it appears to be a pretty damn good class from them, better than in years past. One thing i dont get is why they cant attract a real stud qb or stud wr as much as they pass the ball.

    What has Ohio St done that deserve to be ranked higher than Michigan except to start the season ranked higher? They've given up an average of 8.5 points per game while scoring an average of 34 points per game. No game has even been close this year. 1. Computers dont put margin of victory into their formulas. 2. PSU/OSU. Penn State was winning 3-0 at half. They were down 14-6 until Morelli threw 2 late 4th quarter pick sixes to lose 28-6

    SoS maybe, i dont know. Both UM and OSU beat similar top teams in ND and Texas. UM and OSU have basically played the same opponents except Michigan might have the edge because they played and beat Wisc.

    Im sure this saturday will be pretty exciting for you Missouri fans, but other than this is a pretty ho-hum saturday. PSU/PU is best B10 game on the block, that will be a competitive one.

    What would happen if Lilly had that confrontaion earlier in the year with Lou instead of John Gibbons? Somehow i dont think Lou would be the one with the bloody lip and he wouldnt have waited to get it on in the clubhouse tunnel. Matters would of been handled on the mound. :lol:

    Whats a Manager? Yeah this was great. Dusty's best quote are about hunting a fishing. I didnt figure you used real quotes from him until i read the closer one and thought that sounded awfully familar. The hunting and fishing quotes are silly analagies and if someone said to me, "who is Dusty Baker" i would show them these 2 quotes.

    I agree with this. Baseball players arent use to sitting for a week. Its not Detorit needed to rest the pen or starters. BP aint the same thing as live pitching. Rogers has pitched 2 outstanding games in the playoffs. He's a good pitcher but pitching 3 in a row is a tough task. I havent looked but im going to guess the Tigers have been really good with RISP. I dont have facts supporting this, its just what i seem to see. Mets have a great lineup, if Detoit doesnt pitch well they will get ransacked. Detroit starters have been pitching out of their minds, expect a regression. Detroit has an advantage with rogers and roberston being lefties against the mets lefty lineup. Carpenter can win 2 games for the Cardinals alone. After posting this originally I read an article that said historically, teams with as much as the Tigers got win the World Series at a very high % Yeah and then i was reminded of the White Sox 6 days rest last year :lol: But the White Sox won because of their pitching last year and not hitting. I dont think the Tigers have the same rotation as the Sox last year, especially Contreras. Also i was thinking if the Tigers win this will be another high AVG low OBP team to win the WS. Anaheim/White Sox and maybe the Tigers.

    I wouldnt worry about the Irish next year, im not. Those are most definetly tough games. Some dude for Western Michigan had 13 tackles AND 6 sacks. 6 sacks people.

    UM's front 4 is really strong. Instead of playing that stupid hold your gap defense upfront they are now using their talent to their advantage and attacking people. The LB have really improved too, and they have been used more in blitz packages. I thought Tate hung in there really well today, at first he started really slow and thought UM would roll them. After the bad first couple possesions he did really well considering they couldnt establish the run. #88 looked pretty good for Iowa and their TE had some good catches. Iowas defense looked pretty good upfront too, we were impressed by there run stopping a pressure on Henne. Hart really had to work for his yards, i think Iowas MLB made some bad reads and it cost them the Td and some other plays too. I dont know where #85 Carson Butler came from for UM but they used him quite a bit today and he did well. I agree, Breastons return was huge.

    Im not surprised about the score of this game. Reyes isnt a crappy pitcher. Detroits lack OBP might be getting the better of them. Detroit will have a s-load of pressure tomorrow night. If they dont wint they got carpenter in game 3. Tomorrow night is close to a must win for the Big D.

    Spiller looks really good. Can see why he was so highly regarded in HS. The dude is so frickn fast.

    Leyland played with fire in going after pujols with 2 outs and firstbase open. He played with fire and got burnt. You dont F with Pujols in a series of this magnitude. That 2 runs is huge.
