  1. Maybe, but a formality like that would not be reported as "news". Yeah and lets hope the Cubs dont pull a Bears and screw up the paperwork. Then it becomes 'news'.
  2. This isn't really surprising. Both he and McCoy are freshman and with Mack Brown choosing McCoy combined with McCoy playing well, Snead realized he wasn't going to play. Should be interesting to see where he transfers to. Oklahoma where the wind comes sweeping down the plains You already took Nichol, where does the greed end? I wonder what Nichol is thinking now if Snead goes to OU? There was a lot of talk around here if they let JLS go the kid might find another school and leave too. It woulda been hard for them to not fire JLS but get this Nichol kid. They knew it would be a bitter pill to swallow but thought long term it was right. I agreed. JLS was awful.
  3. Yes. This is the big distinction between the 2 for me. If i say Rum and Coke or Morgan and Coke and they say Pepsi, i take a pass. I like the taste of Pepsi better than Coke and it doesnt seem like it has as much caffeine. BUT i like Cherry Coke better than Cherry Pepsi.
  4. With Rum. Light or Dark. Myers if its dark. Sprinkle some nutmeg on top too. Go all out and lay on some Redi Whip.
  5. This ACC Champ game has TERRIBLE attendance. It shouldnt be blamed on the weather. These tickets should be long gone before today.
  6. He has really solid plate coverage and i like that for players who are getting older. He has improved that very nicely in the last 2-3 years and even before that he was damn good. They can use that ability to still get on base when there skills start the decline. Now he walks more than ks. So he might be actually getting better as a hitter. He has suffered a power outage that last few years. I dont follow Boston enough but i am a little worried about that. He's got the skills so who knows if he can come back to the 25+HR a year. Why doesnt Boston want him is the question i keep asking myself.
  7. I could make many arguements why UM should play in the NCG and also why USC should play in too. Its the system we live in. Accept your fate and move on. I havent once seen this abbreviation in these college football threads. MNC Mythical National Champion. If Michigan makes it....great. If not move on. Unless you go undefeated you have no one else to blame in this system. You suffer the finger of fate like everyone else. I love CFB. Thanks, Screw USC
  8. Jesus. When did MSU suck. Not even them can get some uber stud team. B10 is really falling apart. This sucks. MSU Illini When the F did both of these teams not have some awesome talent or awe insprining team? N. E. V. E. R. Wisc has always been a solid program. I like them. OSU is number 1 without Oden? What the hell is happening here. Iowa? You are supposed to be perenial top 25 too. Damn this.
  9. Big Ten gets its ass kicked in the challenge once again. They never have won this thing i dont think. Jeez. Well they do well in the tournament at least but this is getting ridiculous.
  10. Actually his QB rating is worse than Delhomme and Pennington, and he has more turnovers than Mr. No Mistake. And Eli's backup is Jared Lorenzen, who I don't think has ever played an NFL down. If you think people haven't been killing Roethlisberger this year, you haven't been paying attention. The only reason people aren't talking about him now is because the Steelers have rendered themselves irrelevent. The Bears are a playoff team. Anyway, I think the reason people are criticizing Rex Grossman is because he's had three games in which he has totally killed the Bears. Pennington has had a couple of lousy games, and Delhomme hasn't been great, but their lows haven't been as low as Grossman (ratings of 10, 23 and 37 in the three worst games). Like it or not, he's younger and hasn't proven what either of those guys have proven. I think what everybody notices is that if come playoff time, Grossman lays an egg like the ones he's laid against Arizona, Miami and New England, the Bears are done. Even Rex said it himself - he can't be AS bad when he's not on. The guys i mentioned are pretty much in the same boat as Rex is when it comes to QB ratings. Rex needs to get better and eliminate the lousy games, i wont agrue that. I hate QB controversies and this one is toatlly unnecessary. Well today i at least heard media talking about Eli and what to do with him. Maybe the Pillsbury Throw Boy will subplant Eli. What also i dont like is all this talk about last year. Last year the Bears barely frickn won almost every game and people are talking like it was glory days last year and we should try that again on offense. It's silly.
  11. Im getting pissed about this Rex criticism. His numbers are better than Eli. I dont hear growns about putting their backup in. Is it because their backup sucks but the Bears have Griese? Rothlisbergers numbers blow chunks. Sure he won a superbowl last year, well he aint sniffing the playoffs this year. Grossmans numbers are better than Delhomme (Super Bowl QB) and Penningtons. Brad Johnson (Super Bowl QB) too. AND his numbers are supposed to be MR. NO MISTAKE. Dudes thrown for more INT than TD. Screw that.
  12. Yes. This is very good news. Im liking what im hearing from this Rose Bowl guy.
  13. Sweet investigational work. We talk about a team, it evolves into another subject and boom a story appears. Release the News Hounds!
  14. That's hilarious. You're kidding, right? FYI: Year TM | G | Comp Att PCT YD Y/A TD INT 2002 den | 13 | 291 436 66.7 3214 7.4 15 15 That's just one year. Oh im totally kidding. Griese. Lets remember this, after his 2000 season in which he threw for 19tds and 4int he was annoited one of the top upcoming qbs. It was so long Elway hello Griese. Well the next 2 years he threw for only 4 more TD's than int the Mike Shannahan offense. Shannahan got sick of him as fast as he is Jake Plummer. He had a pretty decent 2004 under John Gruden, but the next year before he got injured he was borderline average. He's had a checkered past like Grossman is this short year. Except Grossman has much more upside than Griese. Brian Griese is a great backup QB but an average starter. Grossman really needs to suck before they turn the reigns over to Brian.
  15. Brian Greise has never thrown an interception in his life. No really, I saw him play every game in college and even then he never threw an interception. Every decision he makes is always the right one and if he makes the wrong read its the wr or olines fault. Guys who dont have the arm strength manage the game well because they make up for it in smarts and thus are immune from making mistakes. Griese is the model. He should start.
  16. Yes. Many votes scream mercy from all the crying Urban is doing and subcum to his wishes. What is Urban going to do if they lose to Arkansas and get shut out of a BCS to a team they beat earlier this year (LSU). That will be interesting.
  17. They ran the frickn ball down the throat of the #2 run defense in the league. The gameplan against the 3-4 is to run between the tackles and guards and not go wide against the 4 LBs. They did this superby. They sucked at first but they stuck with it and it paid off, i liked the patience there. They could of done better with cedric but thats a tad bit of splitting hairs. I was really happy with game plan of the runs today. I would of like one or 2 more screens but jones frickn jumped early and blew that one. Samuel had a very good game in secondary. Give the Pats some credit. I hate the Dick Jauron. "we didnt execute" excuse (in other words 'we called the right plays but the guys fd it all up'). But that was the major reason they lost today. At no point, did I see any attempt to throw off New Englands blitz package. Evertime it's like "well, lets hope we can block them all this time" Why not try the shotgun again, they only attempted it twice vs the Giants,(yeah, it didn't work those 2 times, but that doesn't mean you abadone the foramtion). What about runing a quick no huddle set? Its hard for a defense to execute alot of blitz packages from the no-huddle because they don't have the time to organize themselves. Sorry, but I'm pinning this loss on Turner, I want him gone. The shotgun package would of been a nice change of pace ill agree with that. But the Bears only getting sacked once shouldnt set the panic button either.

  19. I thought LSU would jump the Badgers. Didn't think beating Pitt while WV losing to South Florida would let Louisville leap them though. Wisconsin drops 4 slots in the computers while idle. that's alot. c'mon STSU and Buffalo. help a brother out here man. What's Wisconsin's out of conference schedule next year? Washington State, UNLV, The Citadel and one TBA. Link it will more than likely be a MAC team. the usual MO is a Pac 10/Big 12 team/Big East team, a Mountain West or WAC team (not one or the other, I forget which conference UNLV and SDSU are in), a MAC team, and a total patsy. I think they stacked weak non conference schedule knowing Barry would be gone and wanting to give Beliema a good start. turned out to bite him in the ass. play an Oregon or Colorado like they used to and they are fourth or fifth in the BCS right now. I think every BCS team should play at least 2 BCS teams out of conference. I'd be happy with 1. Two seems like it'd be really hard to arrange. Michigan and OSU each did twice this year. I think a B10 vs Big East or ACC would be kinda cool. (The B10 and SEC play too much in the bowls). Michigan has a built in OOC rivalry with ND so i dont expect them to play a texas or OU as well. OSU playing Texas the last 2 years is progress. Id like them to build the rivalry like UM/ND. It seems like a good fit. A lot of it has to do with money rather than the competive aspect. ND/UM not only get great attendance hey get the TV exposure, which is the key. A Wisconsin/WVU just dont get much more TV exposure for those 2 schools than if they played Buffalo or Bowling Green at home and get the 94,000 people every year rather than every other year for a home-and-home. IF 2 conferences can arrange a week of games that might get some neat TV exposure/excitement.
  20. This is what I knew was coming after that USC game and why I'm even more pissed off that they didn't put up a better fight. Nothing was exposed that we didnt know before. The secondary and average OL play. The dline and LB played really well, but there is just a severe drop off in the secondary that only the top teams in the nations can expose. The oline with pressure is hard for ND to stop. They are still a top 15 team no doubt because they are great on the offensive skills positions and solid on the front 7. There are still many teams after the top 5 that they can give them a run for their money and/or beat. They most definetly arent weak but they arent NC world class either. IF they go to a BCS bowl without playing a top 6 team they stand a very good chance of winning. Whether they deserve it or not is up to your own preference.
  21. Bears played a good game, considering they were on the road and playing the Patriots (and considering poor reffing, imo) but shot themselves in the foot waaaaaaay too much. Poor coaching decisions (Lovie, Turner, playing TJ way too much), Grossman made too many mistakes and the defense was terrible for the most part of the fourth quarter. The game was there for the taking and I'm pretty disappointed with the Bears. I with you on your thoughts here. Im also disappointed too. They need to be a little tighter. They dont have a mile to make up. I like Brady a lot. He pissed me off when he did the first down salute thing. But at the same time i was like, this dude won 3 frickn super bowls and he is jacked up for the bears in a week 11 season game. I like that.
  22. and lose by 4 against NE? Nothing to be ashamed of here. the pats wanted this game against the bears bad. they were frickn pumped. I was thoroughly entertained today.
  23. Well i must be the jackass in the corner. Im not going to bury rex because of this game against the pats. he played really well at times. The last pass sucked and i wonder why sheed was even in on that play. i didnt see him in until the last pass. The defense played well. Dominating hell no. Do you dominate the Pats? Good luck. The run game did really well today. The oline was really awesome. THE pats are great against the run and the bears ran for 153 yards. 153 yards! They sucked up the pats blitz package pretty well too. This is a very positive accomplishment. No ill go back to my corner
  24. damn  too soon for that. and its sheed?
