Why, it isn't his fault Q is still a mediocre starter at best. It’s not, I just wonder if his rope is thin and a disasterous sweep would be the death blow
I know this would never happen with the Cubs 1 game out of 1st but it would be cool to do a retooling. At the very least I don’t think we should make any major additions at the deadline unless it helps us just as much long term as it would this year (basically no rentals).
Best I can gather, his excuse is that in the bottom half of the inning, the home team gets to bat. [tweet]
[/tweet] What has a higher probability of backfiring: Hendricks pitching to their heart of the order another time (instead of Kyle Ryan) or exposing your garbage ass middle relievers for the rest of the game?
Besides teams that are purposefully tanking, I've never seen a team less interested in having the best 25 players possible. I mean, Descalso is still on the team. Really? I just assumed that they made him a coach since he’s had literally 7 PA in the month of July
So your saying that doing nothing and hoping the previous season was a fluke and they were just tired is not the best way to build your team? Oh don’t forget to tender a contract to an abuser.
I would totally be down for a franchise changing blockbuster trade. There’s a few others I’d be upset about trading but the only guys that absolutely have to stay are KB, Rizzo and Javy. Maybe it doesn’t make the most sense but I’m just ready for something new. There is something rotten with the Cubs right now and a few minor pieces here and there isn’t going to fix it imo
All the Cubs players talking up how big this 9 game stretch is and they respond with bad hitting, bad relief pitching, bad managing, lackisidasical play in the field. If we don’t make a major trade this week, I don’t know how much time and emotion I can invest in this team for the rest of the year.
