  1. Is it just me or did Rizzo look pissed after abusers bad throw?
  2. Lol 10 mins ago I was thinking we might run away with this and now we’re losing
  3. Let's see that swing and miss stuff Kimbrel....these are the kind of games we signed you for
  4. Everyone rushing to DFA Stop, dude just takes a breath and retires the top of the Padres order without any further damage.
  5. That seems a little bit much. He hasn't been the same since he came back from the DL. I wonder if he's not fully healed and trying to push through it. Anyways, I am glad he is showing that he might not be someone we can rely on now rather than after the deadline.
  6. Wow I didnt realize the Padres have 3 different guys with more HRs this year than our leader in dongs. And that doesn't include Tatis who would probably have more than 22 HRs by now if he wasn't hurt.
  7. Dude JHey is a line drive machine.....it just makes me so damn happy
  8. Well good thing the pitcher was running there...but could have been an inning ending GIDP
  9. Rizzo has to hold onto that ball. Come on
  10. Hopefully this dude teaches Willson how to frame because that was a beaut
  11. Amazing what happens when you put stuff in play instead of staring at strikes
  12. Catcher has to take that Jon especially knowing that you deliberately bounce throws to 1st due to your yips
  13. Agreed, he seemed like a good guy but is obviously scum. Good riddance...I had his Expos book on my list of books to eventually read too
  14. This is random but I was just looking at the postseason OPS of most of the Cubs that have played multiple postseasons with the team during this run and its amazing that we'd had a moderate level of postseason success including a championship and 6 series wins. Schwarber 1.016 Ross .858 Bryant .743 Contreras .716 Rizzo .690 Baez .662 Russell .596 Zobrist .589 Almora .508 Happ .476 Montero .428 Heyward .323 LaStella .071
  15. Almora is pretty much Corey Patterson except without the upside potential. That is being exceedingly harsh to Corey Patterson, who put up a 2.5 WAR in half a season followed by a 5 WAR season, and then another 3.8 WAR season for the Orioles. The odds of Almora ever reaching Patterson's 10.9 career WAR is like 100 to 1. 100 to 1 seems like a bit of an over-exaggeration considering Almora has produced more WAR on a per PA basis so far in his career (3.0 in 1203 PA) than Patterson did in his (10.9 in 4499 PA). Not to say that he will keep up that pace for his entire career or even that he will get enough playing time in the majors to eclipse his WAR but its not unreasonable.
  16. This was his first run allowed in 20 appearances (although he did let 3 of 12 inherited runners scored), going all the way back to mid-May. During that span he's allowed a .462 OPS. There are definitely some red flags that suggest regression is inevitable but lol he's been pretty damn effective.
  17. Or to fail at runner on 3rd less than 2 out situations.
  18. This is pretty much exactly what was concluded on that video breakdown of Trubisky posted the other day. Worth a watch [bbvideo=560,315] [/bbvideo]
