  1. So Rizzo walks on a clear strike and Javy strikes out on a clear ball. Guess were even
  2. Happ has been downright impressive this season
  3. Anyone wanna speculate on why KB was pulled from the lineup 5 mins before the game?
  4. As usual the great Blackhawks fan base has as many fans at a game as the home team.
  5. Turns out quasi playoff hockey can be as fun as real playoff hockey
  6. Surely this Blackhawks defense can hold onto a 3-1 first period lead right?
  7. Man I wish Pulisic could stay healthy. That didn’t look good today
  8. Kimbrel before Cubs: 9 seasons, 532.2 IP, 35 home runs allowed, 1 HR every 15 IP Kimbrel on Cubs: 1+ seasons, 22.0 IP, 11 home runs allowed, 1 HR every 2 IP
  9. Glad the dude managed to get 3 outs before 5 runs scored but every single batter in that inning smoked the ball. He’s really fortunate the tying run isn’t at the plate right now
  10. The Cubs bullpen tonight allowed 3 runs in 3 innings and their ERA for the season went down
  11. The funny thing is, this is the exact opposite issue he had his last time out when he allowed 0 hits but walked 4 and hit a batter. This time he’s not walking anyone and is getting shelled
  12. This is bad even in the context of bad Theo signings
  13. On many nights that blast by Willson would have been long gone. Stupid wind
  14. Darvish at 86 pitches. Please for the love of God keep him in for 1 more inning
  15. Hell yeah J-Hey, I was not expecting much against the lefty and especially not expecting much after the first 2 swings in the AB but dude came through!
  16. Ugh a couple of bad K’s with a runner on 3rd
  17. All the 2016 feels in that clubhouse if/when he joins Kipnis in Chicago.
  18. I was going to ask if we will use this opportunity to skip someone but Mills and Chatwood pitched well enough to take their next turns
  19. How about we shut the Marlins down and then introduce a loan system a la international football leagues? Marlins get an influx of cash and the Cubs can maybe improve their pen. Edit: Nevermind, I see their closer so far this year has been Brandon Kintzler
  20. Guess the Phillies aren’t out of the woods yet
  21. Strop had 126 MLB innings pitched over 4.5 seasons before coming to the Cubs including an all star caliber season with Baltimore in 2012 Am I having the ultimate brain fart on Marshall or did you mean Sean Marshall who had been with the Cubs since 2006 and was traded before he ever played a game under Theo? Rondon is a good call and now that I’m thinking obviously their greatest development was getting Jake into a cy young pitcher. But overall the track record isn’t great at all imo I didn’t realize Pedro was decent for a year or two before coming over, I thought he was bad like Jake. But I guess they identified him. I meant Sean Marshall and Theo traded him, did he not? After they turned him in to a bullpen arm full time and he was successful? But yeah the overall track record isn’t great but he’s always built decent pens once they tried to win starting in 2015. 2015-19 Cubs relievers have the 11 most WAR, 3rd lowest ERA, 8th lowest FIP, 7th lowest xFIP. No Marshall was traded in 2011, the offseason that Theo took over, so he never actually played under Theo. You are right though about the overall success of the pen. It just seems like we have so many guys that come up from the minors and have horrific troubles throwing strikes.
