  1. Single, sacrifice bunt, groundout, passed ball. What a way to lose it
  2. it's magic dot gif Every horsefeathering time
  3. Warning: This is Barstool so I can totally understand not wanting to watch because of that but they did a pretty in-depth interview with KB while he was here over the weekend, talking about the final days as a Cub and what happened when the pieces started getting traded, etc. It's interesting at least, he has a good attitude about everything and still speaks highly about the city and franchise. Starts around 42:15.
  4. There's definitely a lot of interesting stuff leaking to the media, particularly from Lazor. Clearly we know how he stands. He's probably pissed that Nagy took back playcalling reigns too after Lazor actually had the team producing points last year. If the OC is saying this, this has got to be the prevailing feeling in the locker room and rightfully so.
  5. Starting this off again. To win the title last year, I traded my 1st round pick this year for Dalvin Cook. Also because I couldn't keep either of my QBs (Lamar, Murray - not allowed to keep more than 1 consecutive year), I was in a dire position at the draft. Because its a 2 QB start league, QBs fly off the board, I had to use a 2nd round keeper on Dak Prescott, and would not have the chance to draft a non-QB until the end of Q3 (AJ Brown was my other keeper in the 5th round). Anyways, I ended up with a pretty crappy team but with upside IMO. Lost week 1 badly. Here is my team: QB (start 2) - Prescott, Roethisberger, Heinike RB (start 3) - Gibson, James Robinson, Mike Davis, Javante Williams, Gordon, Eli Mitchell WR (start 4) - AJ Brown, Allen Robinson, Galloday, Mooney (had Gallup but he's out for 5 weeks) TE (start 1) - Kittle streaming K and DEF I have terrible WR depth, but I am not sure if any of my RBs are droppable for a WR (we only have 4 bench spots, 3 are currently used by RBs, and then Heinike because I needed another option for QB2 besides Ben) Very unexciting team and I am really not sure at all how to improve it unless I trade Kittle for WR depth and then maybe consolidate a couple of RBs for a better one. The tough thing is using 1/2 my bench spots on the Broncos backfield - they both took exactly 50% of the snaps in W1 and neither may distinguish themselves). In the short term I might drop Mooney...I like his upside and the 7 targets he got, but I cannot start 2 Bears WRs with Dalton at QB and Nagy at HC. Anyways, if anyone has any opinions (other than that my team sucks - i know that already) I'm all ears. If not, at the very least complain about your fantasy team that no one cares about here.
  6. Recency bias, bettors overreact to week 1. Look ahead line prior to week 1 had the Bears at -4.5. I think the best bet is the over in this game actually. Its going to be 90F on Sunday, defenses will be gassed. Bears better switch to their white jerseys for this one. https://www.chicagobears.com/photos/2021-chicago-bears-jersey-schedule Nope they will foolishly be in their dark jerseys. Weird jersey schedule...wearing the navys 6 of the first 8 games, and then only 2 times in the last 9 games (because of the throwback being a white jersey, plus the orange alternate)
  7. Not sure how true this is but…
  8. Our board has some weird telekinesis that makes people post game threads at the exact same time as I posted mine right after yours Simpson with a good start, 5IP, 3H, 1ER
  9. There are still people on Twitter justifying Nagy’s performance due to his record. The dude is 3-9 in his last 12 games with wins over teams with records of 4-12, 7-9 and 1-15. Maybe 12 games is a small sample but it’s trending downward in a hurry.
  10. I don't know why the bettors are underestimating the Bears in this one, it's the Andy Dalton Revenge Game! Oh wait, Dalton started against the Bengals last year and a 122.6 QB Rating, so he used up his revenge mojo
  11. Seattle just had the ASG in 2001. I'm sure MLB is going to give one to Atlanta's new park as soon as they fix that voting rights crap too, even though Atlanta's previous stadium had it the year before Seattle last did. And 2026 is already set for Philly. If they give Atlanta 2024, 2025 is an option but they seem to like alternating leagues (even though they've gotten away from that recently). There was rumors that the MLB doesn't want to give the Cubs the game because they didn't get public money for their renovations. But that seems stupid....think of the spectacle of a Wrigley All Star game in the HD era and a HR Derby with juiced balls (as opposed to the horsefeathers show that was the last HR Derby at Wrigley.
  12. Seattle gets the 2023 All-Star game, so 2024 is the earliest Wrigley can host the ASG. But I get the impression the MLB doesn't want to give the Cubs the game. It's been 34 years...
  13. Trubisky is worse due to the trade up for the worst of the 3 1st round QBs, but Quinn signing might be the 2nd worst move of Pace's career (and there is plenty of competition). What a disaster.
  14. Did he ever even bother apologizing to the collector whom he accused of being a liar, a jealous cub fan and a racist? He had dinner with the guy and apologized i guess https://www.reuters.com/article/us-baseball-brewers-braun/remorseful-braun-apologizes-to-sample-collector-idUSBRE9AQ1AC20131127
  15. horsefeathers announces his retirement from being an horsefeathers on the baseball field
  16. Fixed, I used to think he's getting held like crazy and for whatever reason teams are being allowed to do so but, I don think that's it, the guy's toast. He done having big impact games or being the guy other teams have to specifically scheme to stop. I still wonder how he finished as the number 1 graded Linebacker on PFF's grades last season. Not that PFF is end all be all, but its looking at every snap he took and how he specifically performed on that play. Either he's doing a bunch of horsefeathers that goes unnoticed (beyond drawing double/triple teams) or there's a flaw in the system.
  17. Some select PFF grades for yesterday if you are into that sort of thing from this article: Offense and Defense Reminder on the scale: 100-90 elite - 0 Bears players 89-85 Pro Bowler - 0 Bears players 84-70 starter - 4 Bears players - all within 3 points of the lowest possible starter score 69-60 backup - 13 Bears players 59-0 replaceable - 21 Bears players QB: Justin Fields - 68.0 Andy Dalton - 63.1 RB: Damien Williams - 71.7 David Montgomery - 64.5 Khalil Herbert - 60.0 WR: Marquise Goodwin - 73.0 Allen Robinson - 59.5 Darnell Mooney - 58.0 Damiere Byrd - 49.7 TE: JP Holtz - 71.1 Cole Kmet - 69.4 Jimmy Graham - 59.5 Jesse James - 51.0 OL: Elijah Wilkinson - 63.1 Jason Peters - 61.7 Germain Ifedi - 59.6 Larry Borom - 56.0 James Daniels - 50.7 Sam Mustipher - 41.7 Cody Whitehair - 37.4 DL: Angelo Blackson - 58.5 Akiem Hicks - 54.9 Damion Square - 44.9 Bilal Nichols - 37.8 Khyiris Tonga - 28.7 LB: Jeremiah Attaochu - 70.3 Robert Quinn - 68.4 Christian Jones - 65.7 Khalil Mack - 61.7 Roquan Smith - 52.3 Trevis Gipson - 37.5 Alec Ogletree - 29.1 CB: Kindle Vildor - 68.2 Jaylor Johnson - 61.7 S: Tashaun Gipson - 60.1 DeAndre Houston-Carson - 59.7 Eddie Jackson - 52.5 Marqui Christian - 29.7
  18. I find it interesting that Shanahan and Nagy both did something fairly unusual with their rookie QBs on the same day. Can't remember too many times where a rookie QB doesn't start but plays snaps sporadically during the game. I'm going to guess Lamar did it and that is who they are copying.
  19. Interesting breakdown of the breakdown and seems to assign a majority of the blame on that play to Marqui Christian, and possibly some to Eddie Jackson who Stafford was able to look off on the play.
  20. I still can't believe this crap. I've seen blown coverages before (Reggie Wayne in the Super Bowl, Chris Conte vs. the Packers) but can't remember seeing many where the receiver is 10+ yards ahead of any defender.
  21. I agree, all I'm saying is that the offense produced more with Lazor, regardless of reason, and there was no reason Nagy should have taken back over IMO. When Lazor took over the Bears called the most play-action passes in the league, designed to get Mitch out of the pocket and to one side of the field where he could scan the field easier and make a read. Maybe that would be useless for a veteran like Dalton but I'm just stuck on the fact that he made a quantifiable change and it worked. Edit: Here is an excerpt from an article talking about this in January:
  22. Bears offensive production the first 9 games of the 2020 season with Matt Nagy controlling playcalling: 19.7 points per game, 318 yards per game Bears offensive production in the 6 games that Lazor was controlling playcalling: 29.7 points per game, 348 yards per game Bears offensive production in the 3 games since Nagy for some reason took over playcalling again: 13.0 points per game, 254 yards per game Now, this is a bit of a deceptive statistic I'll admit. For one, Lazor took over a stretch where we played 4 of the worst defensive teams in the league. Nagy took back over to play the Packers, Saints and Rams. But I guess my point is, clearly the Bears offense was producing with Lazor calling plays regardless of the reason. Why the need to wrestle back control when things were working?
