First the USMNT game is on Paramount+ now Notre Dame game is on Peacock Premium. The illini game this morning was also exclusively on ACC Network which most carriers in this region don’t offer. Not liking this trend at all. We had this nice 10 year window when we could watch anything we wanted easily and now it’s going the other way again.

It makes me feel good (duh) to see Ohio State's offense struggling with the 2nd QB of Ryan Day's coaching career. Maybe he's a shitty offensive coach and Fields is so good he singlehandedly made it work. I'm used to OSU QBs immediately running the offense smoothly.

That’s how I thought watching the offense in the preseason. It just looks like the same doomed to fail offense we’ve seen regardless of QB. Having a guy that can make the throws will help but I can’t help but feel that there is a ceiling to the offense. Or maybe I’m just looking too much into the preseason. It just looked and felt the same and thus tempered my enthusiasm a bit. This is still the same offense that had the running count of scoreless halves under Nagy.

Some real cringeworthy horsefeathers going on at Wrigley rn They gave him the number 17 from the Wrigley scoreboard which is typically something you don't do for someone who you hope to re-sign (kidding, I doubt it matters either way) -

boy, gotta think 7 is the minimum there - win both home games and get a point on the road. Can't be dropping points at home to the two bottom teams and need to at least hold Panama. How good is Costa Rica? All I know is they’re typically right up there with us and Mexico. Hope they win the first two and then whatever happens in Costa Rica is gravy. You could definitely convince me 7 should be the minimum though if Costa Rica is nothing special. someone else can give you a better answer but I was under the impression that they were definitely a step down from where they've been in recent years

I was bored this morning and looked up past WCQ cycles, and I believe this is the first time that the USMNT has scored 4 goals in a half on the road in a WCQ match. The closest they've come was scoring 4 goals in a half against Cuba in Mexico city back in 1949.

There's no reason to pitch both multiple innings. Give other guys shots in high pressure situation. Winning these games does nothing for the future. I feel like we went through this same thing in 2010 when the Cubs finished 24-13, bought into their roster, and finished the next season 20 games under .500 when the pressure was back on. If anyone with any power looks at the current roster and thinks it can be competitive, we're already screwed. Right. These aren’t Jim Hendry’s Cubs and this isn’t a team with a high payroll and contracts that are handcuffing them.

Panama and Canada both up at home. We could be looking at a scenario where the US is 2 points behind the top 3 after the first window. Not the end of the world but not the ideal start.

just stop being such a cheap ass lol, I pay for like 20 different streaming/subscription services. The only thing I found worth watching on Paramount+ during the trial was the Dream Team documentary. I'm not going to pay just to watch the 2-3 WCQs that are exclusively on the streaming network.

99 percent sure it's on TUDN. i prefer it for these late games, it helps me zone out OK at least I can watch it. I thought I remember reading that MLS games on TUDN had English SAP audio, maybe that will be the case tonight though I doubt it.

So my kids wasted the Paramont+ Free trial a few weeks ago on the Paw Patrol movie. Any help on where I can watch this match tonight since it seems like its exclusively behind a paywall (which is ridiculous)? Is it on one of the Spanish channels? I was guessing the Mexico game would be on one of those networks
