  1. Remember how much we laughed when Brewers fans thought their front office and future outlook was better than ours? What idiots they were I try not to think about that. Actually I try not to think about anything baseball related outside of the Cubs immediate sphere
  2. Seriously. They have easily the worst team to ever win it (06), maybe the 2nd-worst (11) and if they hadn't gagged a 3-1 lead to SF in 12, they'd probably have won that year too with a playoff spot that had never existed before the season. This is what they do. Damn, if those just didn't count they'd only have like 7 more WS than the Cubs I’ve said this before but I don’t care about championships before I was born. It doesn’t bother me that the Cubs sucked when my dad was a teenager while the Cardinals were winning titles. Yes I would be waving those 80 year old titles in my rivals face if the roles were reversed but it doesn’t bother me that they do.
  3. I have a feeling Dalton will start. The news pregame was that Dalton is a fast healer and looking better.
  4. To be fair, our only data point for Dalton not facing the Rams is the ~1 half he got against the Bengals when he had a 118 QB rating, so we haven't quite disproven that yet. But I'm almost certain we will as soon as he gets back to starting.
  5. I agree with them 100%. I'm just sick of the promise of a top tier offense with Nagy running it. He is simply incapable I'm almost willing to go back on my take that Mitch is bad regardless of Nagy's ineptitude. I don't think he's above average or anything, but he may have a higher ceiling than I originally thought.
  6. random Bears question not related to firing Nagy. I had an argument with a friend today that the 2005 Bears defense was better than the 2018 defense and he seemed shocked that I would have that opinion. We are both old enough to have watched every game from both teams. But maybe I'm just being nostalgic as I was in my early 20s back then and it was the 2nd good Bears team that I could remember watching (after flukey 2001). I think statistically the 2018 team fares better especially against the run, but IIRC the 2018 schedule was pretty easy over all and the 2005 schedule wasn't. Plus while the 2018 offense was probably a little below average, the 2005 offense was beyond anemic and if I had to guess the 2005 defense had to be on the field more because of it. It just felt like the 2005 defense shut everyone down (except in the playoffs) and it didn't matter if the Bears offense couldn't do anything as long as they scratched out a TD and a couple of FGs, because the defense would just shut the door all game. Edit: by looking at 1 factor the 2005 defensive DVOA was -24.6 and 2018s was -25.6 so I guess in that respect they were both really dominant and really close, but 2018 was better.
  7. I know its the job of these shows to make very strong opinions and go to the extreme in expressing them, but man did these guys tear apart Nagy, Rex Ryan especially.
  8. I would have strongly disagreed with that take before yesterday, and I probably still disagree but I'm more open to this way of thinking. That said, I am no football savant and have no idea if it would really do any damage. But he sure looked rattled out there late in the game which is not something I expected from Fields, even as a rookie QB making his first start.
  9. Yea I'm not expecting much from Lazor. His play calling run was a cake walk. But it would also apparently be a pretty low hurdle to clear over Nagy. But also I find the idea that Pace (or McCaskey even!) should be "marching down to Nagy's office" and demanding he give playcalling to Lazor very silly. Naw, just horsefeathering fire him them. I don't necessarily think that Lazor would miraculously make this a good offense but I do think it would be improved over what we've seen.
  10. The whole “holding onto the ball too long” thing is the one thing that legitimately worries me about Fields if it’s an innate trait of his. If it’s because he’s not comfortable with the offense that’s one thing. The other worrisome thing about your write up is a lot of these things you point out seem to be a lack of confidence in his decision making. Again this could be a lack of comfort in the offense. But his confidence is one thing I did not expect to be worrying about. All in all though, I will throw this one out and say that this was his first NFL start, he was trying to limit mistakes, still not 100% comfortable with the offense and then add to all of that the fact that he was constantly under pressure. Now we see how he learns and adjusts (if he starts next week) Btw, really appreciate that write up
  11. From Foles supposedly saying “this offense doesn’t work” on the sidelines to Graham RTing messages about our offensive ineptitude there seems to be a lot of unrest in the Bears locker room. And those are just things from today
  12. He’s extremely fast for a QB. In college he was extremely accurate on intermediate and deep balls. His mental acuity tests were legitimately off the charts, like higher than virtually every other player (not just QB) tested. He played and thrived in a pro style offense in college, had some of his best games in the biggest games. None of this means he’s a sure thing. There are things you can pick apart, like holding onto the ball longer than most QBs in college and there are a couple of questionable games in his senior season you can pick at. But like others have said, he’s the most talented QB the Bears have ever had. I feel very confident that at worst he develops into an average QB. I never felt that way with Mitch or any of the other QBs the Bears have attempted to develop. Of course there is a graveyard of QBs that had “all the tools” and didn’t pan out so no I don’t think he’s a sure thing but he’s on a tier just below that
  13. It’s kind of crazy that every rookie QB has been pretty bad so far except maybe Davis Mills (and Lance who has barely played). It’s not atypical for rookie QBs to struggle of course but this was a pretty hyped QB class, crazy that all are struggling pretty badly
  14. Cubs trade away their entire identity, Cardinals 16 wins in a row, Brewers and White Sox win their divisions. Good stuff
  15. I honestly think that moving back to Lazor would make a noticeable difference. with Nagy running the show the offense is DOA
  16. So fields hurt too to add injury to insult
  17. I didn't see any play action either. He did one play action on 2nd and 9 in the 1st quarter which ended in one of Fields’ 9 sacks
  18. horsefeathering egomaniac Nagy taking over playcalling when things where actually working.
  19. Apparently the record for least yards of offense in a game was -7 back in 1979 so i guess this isn’t quite record setting futility
  20. I’d hardly call playing offense for the Bears the NFL
  21. If you watch a half of Bears football under Nagy, there is a 32% chance that you will not see an offensive TD If you watch a half of Bears football under Nagy from 2019 to now, it goes up to a 40% chance
  22. Can the Bears at least get some garbage time yards?
