  1. Holy horsefeathers 45 yard dart down the field into mooneys hands
  2. Why in the holy hell is Nagy challenging this? Are his coaches that watch replays and tell him whether to challenge stupid? Like WTF Maybe he’s not calling plays and he’s desperate to do something
  3. No obvious difference except maybe runs outside the tackle a little more
  4. Nagy’s scripted plays are gold
  5. Nice TD drive. Fields only attempted 2 short passes and one downfield that was nice but not thrown accurately but I’ll take it
  6. I’d happy take that if Fields looks great
  7. 2 plays in and we’re 25% to last weeks yard total
  8. There’s no doubt who the best Thompson brother has been over the last 2 years
  9. Fields is starting tomorrow
  10. Cubs lost on a walkoff hit yesterday. 2 games to go and it sounds like the Cubs have a full blown COVID outbreak Believe he’s the 5th Cub over the last 2-3 days to go on the IL for undisclosed reasons
  11. Uhhh disregard Will be interesting to see how things go. Given how Nebraska has played since their loss to Illinois (losing at Oklahoma and at MSU by 9 total points) next week at night in Nebraska will be tough, then they still have MSU AND PSU on the road and of course the auto-loss at home to OSU. This is the 6th straight year Michigan has played Wisconsin despite being in different divisions. Will be nice to not have to play them in addition to MSU, PSU and OSU every season
  12. Michigan at Wisconsin is the battle of two fan bases that are adamant that they will lose the game based on what I’ve seen on Twitter all week. Michigan has lost a billion games in a row at Madison, Wisconsin has nothing to lose, and Michigan just got exposed in the 2nd half against Rutgers. I just have a hard time visualizing victory but crazier things have happened
  13. Man I wish we could go back to the Lovie days when the coaches had their shi- oh nevermind
  14. The more I think about this, there are a few things that are going on here with Nagy/QB for Sunday and most of them aren't good. 1. He knows Fields is starting and is just being coy about it. The game plan was installed for him to start and was built for Fields' strengths 2. He's genuinely not sure who is starting and thus has only developed one gameplan regardless of who starts, almost certainly something similar to last week because Dalton can't run an offense that is designed to fit Fields strengths (though you could argue the inverse is true too based on last week). 3. Because Nagy knows that Fields cannot effectively run the Dalton playbook, he has designed his game plan for Sunday and either Dalton or Foles will start because they can both run that offense and Fields will be the backup. I don't see how you can have 2 separate game plans ready and have the team ready to go with each one. And maybe it's an overreaction to say Fields cant run a Dalton offense which involves staying in the pocket and making quick timing passes, but it's not his strength. It would be a disservice to start Fields and not give him the tools needed to succeed.
  15. ahh crap he must be dead then
  16. This is just insane. How have other teams not caught up to what they are doing?
  17. Nagy said it’s a game-time decision That's stupid. If there is any doubt that on Friday afternoon that Dalton can play he should just name Fields the starter at least privately. (and its possible he has and he's just being a galaxy brain about gamesmanship.)
  18. Lets say the Bears do intend to build on Arlington Park. I don't think they have the wealth to finance a state of the art building themselves. How are they going to get funds from the state and local government? State funds will have heavy opposition from downstate (this is already happening). Cook County is already taxed up the wazoo and in general the states finances are in peril. A friend suggested the other day that Arlington Park is so big that they can sell off plots of the land for a significant profit due to the allure of building near the stadium. Take the $200m in land, use 1/2 of it, sell the rest for $400m and you are on your way to having enough money. The other thing I keep hearing is that this is a ploy to up the value of the franchise if the McCaskey's intend to sell the team. That would be my preferred option for sure.
  19. I don't expect to build a contender on the back of FA in one winter but please for the love of god use your financial leverage to make this team better. Take on a Hosmer and/or Myers if it means getting some high value prospects/cost controlled players back. Find an Arenado like trade where you can get a cornerstone without giving up a top prospect. All the teams are crying about this artificial spending cap, act like a big market team and take advantage dammit.* * - assuming dramatic changes arent made in the new CBA
  20. After all the bitching about how you can’t be a Cubs and White Sox fan for decades, it would be hard to draw a dedicated fanbase. Then again if the Bears continue to flounder and can’t build a modern NFL offense and this new team can, there’s a slight chance.
  21. I’m pretty sure that the McCaskey family, being part of the old guard of NFL owners, would have some pretty significant say in a second team in Chicago. The Rooney’s and Mara’s would likely stand with the McCaskey’s in opposition and that’s probably enough power in the NFL hierarchy to kill any move into the Bears territory. I believe they would only need 9 no votes to axe a move which I think would be easy unless they could prove that it would provide a significant financial benefit to the rest of the league to have a second team in Chicago.
  22. This is the most irrelevant week of Cubs baseball in 7 years and they seem to finally be having a COVID outbreak. Wisdom shut down, then Austin Romaine (who knew he was still on the team?), now Davies is getting scratched (but they're justifying it as an innings limit thing). Hopefully they can build a team that can hit the threshold next year. Not that it would completely prevent outbreaks but it would just be nice as a fan to not actively hate the team.
  23. Oh I know, that's all those shows do is overreact with extreme takes. I just thought it was funny
  24. I wonder how the national media is handling the fallout from Fields' first start. Oh dear god
  25. After watching the examples in this thread, I think I like there. There are some really ridiculous ways that offensive players draw fouls, so I'm for trying to eliminate that.
