  1. Noooo I want to see a Matt Nagy coached game without any of his coaches and calling plays so I can hate watch.
  2. The worst thing is that Meyer is sure to land a big college gig next year. Define "big". ND, Oklahoma, Florida, LSU and USC all just hired a coach (too bad about ND, supposedly Urban's dream job). Texas, Tennessee and Auburn just hired a coach last year. Ohio State and Michigan won't open unless their coach leaves for the NFL which I see as unlikely. Penn State and Michigan State just extended their coaches. That is a big chunk of the programs that would be on Ohio State's level in terms of prestige (and some on a level below). Obviously Bama and Clemson aren't opening up unless Saban retires/Debo leaves. I guess options would be Nebraska (lol) and Florida State.
  3. Urban always gave off super douche vibes and I’m so thrilled that he showed the world his true colors.
  4. Think I saw something regarding the myth of halftime adjustments in the NFL, this is an obvious example that they do occur and can be impactful. As a DC I certainly would have realized Johnson is shutting Adams down and the Packers are going to make some adjustments to get him away from that match up. What are the possibilities and how do we react in such circumstances? Such thoughts seem plausible for every team save of course, for our Bears. Not only did they not make adjustments but the head coach didn't even realize they made adjustments when asked after the game. I guess you could say the question was about halftime adjustments, and technically the Packers started moving him around in the 2nd quarter but still.
  5. Nah, can't get past the paywall I paid 1.20 for a 12 week trial and found it worth the 1. 20. It was a deeply sourced article. Yeah but I can get like 1/3 of a gallon of gas with that $1.20 instead!
  6. Saw some discussion about this yesterday but its summed up well here Also, Jaylen did terrific matched up on Adams on Sunday:
  7. Nah, can't get past the paywall
  8. JSU games are rarely even televised. Wow. I think its funny that Florida State was this kids' dream school, and also Deion's alma mater, and he plucked him away. NIL doing some stuff
  9. I guess in the NFL you have to survive long enough as a QB to start getting the calls. Until then, the risk of a career-limiting injury is way higher. That's how it seems anyway. There's a theory that many of these calls are mobile/immobile related. Mobile QBs universally believe that they don't get the calls that the pocket guys get. Cam Newton has always complained about it, and still isn't getting the calls at his veteran age. But the mobile QBs not getting roughing call thing leads to the potential of racially motivated calls, which I'm sure the league isn't ready to admit. I wonder if there's a statistic for how many roughing calls each QB has gotten. I'd be interested to see how guys like Herbert, Allen, and Mayfield compare to Lamar, Kyler and others. Here you go: https://www.nflpenalties.com/roughing-the-passer-by-qb.php? Strangely though, while it is counting up 2021 penalties, none of the rookie QBs are being tracked. But you can see who is getting the higher percentage of calls Edit: I guess there is a minimum qualifier in there of 40 starts Double edit: Some reddit dude did some analysis of the numbers:
  10. Yeah its annoying and weird. I just added it as a scheduling quirk.
  11. For comparison purposes, this is looking like the schedule next year Home: Packers Vikings Lions Eagles Football Team Bills Dolphins Houston/Jacksonville 49ers (look locked into 3rd) Road: Cowboys Lions Packers Vikings Patriots Giants Jets Saints/Falcons/Panthers
  12. I did the math in my head but I think its close to 31 WAR from all their projections which isn't terrible if you assume the Cubs will probably add a few more wins after the lockout. For reference, the White Sox were at 36.4 (again quick math in my head)
  13. And 2 of their last 4 games are against a team who is 12th in overall DVOA even though they've managed to go 6-7 so far. On top of that... We've had to play 5 teams coming off their bye or TNF mini-bye including 4 times in the last 5 weeks. Our own bye gave us a full 2 days of extra rest than our opponents. And we've had to alternate home and road games every week which is annoying. The schedule makers did us wrong this year.
  14. The thing I actually appreciated about the whole Be You thing, even though everyone mocked it, was at least you might flame out quick if "you" sucked. But I guess Pace or George or whoever deciding his fate is just like "tell me more about who you are?" Look lets be honest, you can not make a final judgement on Nagy until he finds that elusive 'why' that he's been looking for. He just needs a little more time to find it.
  15. Imagine adding an extra playoff spot in each conference and an extra game on the schedule and still getting eliminated with 3+ games remaining
  16. We can expect perfect decisions, not perfect results. It's not even hard decisions. I was pissed he didn't go for 4th on the opening drive at the 40. I wasn't happy he kicked the 1st FG on 4th down from the 3. It was just asinine to punt the ball on 4th and inches down 11. It's not like they were in the shadows of the goal line either. You were 4-8 and getting fired. Why are you not playing to win? You're going to lose if you punt the ball to a QB that scored every time he touched the ball after the 1st quarter. Everyone expects you to lose, take risks. If you lose, so be it, you were supposed to anyway. Well, he did not go balls to walls aggressive, taking risks in the ultimate game to do so against the Saints in the playoffs last season. What makes us think he'd go some and do it last night? Right...he is conservative to a fault and he'll go down with the ship sticking to his principles
  17. What a horsefeathering baffoon No we can't possibly expect you to be perfect with your decision making but there are a whole lot of these types of things with him.
  18. What a horsefeathering baffoon No we can't possibly expect you to be perfect with your decision making but there are a whole lot of these types of things with him.
  19. Hilarious that Nagy defended his decision to punt on 4th and inches from the Bears 36 late in the 4th, claiming that he thought field position was most important there. The Packers had scored 5 TDs and 1 FG on their last 7 possessions, but I'm sure this time the defense would have stopped them right? It was the quintessential Matt Nagy decision. The team's last realistic chance to come back, their playoff hopes dangling by a thread, his job dangling by a thread, and he decides to go super conservative and play 'not to lose'. What a buffoon.
  20. He wasn't great, but I also feel like the game plan did him no favors. It was again a lot of timing routes, very little designed plays to get him out of the pocket, almost no shots downfield (also a result of poor blocking). I would have liked to have seen more from Fields this year, did not expect him to be bottom 5 in many QB statistics, but at this point I refuse to take anything definitive away from this season due to issues beyond Fields' control.
  21. If Nagy was fired I feel like we would have heard it leak already today. Please just bench Fields the rest of the year. I don't want this coaching staff to warp him any more.
  22. I assume if we don't play it's a forfeit? And I think Coby and one other player (drawing a blank) should be back by tomorrow's game if I read correctly. If the league postpones it, not a forfeit. If given the choice to forfeit or play the Bulls will play even though playing the Bulls is an excuse to spread COVID to others at this point. Coby might be back, Green seems 1-2 days behind but it’s possible.
