Whoever made that comparison between this Cubs team and the tanking Bulls teams of the last half decade is right. They are bad, but not nearly bad enough to lose consistently to other tanking teams. Definitely one of the downsides of not trading Willson, Happ, Smyly, etc. at the deadline. That said, I don't worry about tanking as much in baseball as I do in other sports, even with the draft lottery now in place. Obviously would prefer to have a top 3 pick, but its mildly enjoyable to win even with a team that's going nowhere this year. What I don't want is a situation where beating up on some bad teams leads the FO to believe the Cubs are closer than they really are. I don't think that will be the case...at least I hope not.
