Javy is probably my favorite Cub ever and I'm probably high on Fields right now but definitely Pace leaving the Bears Fields. Franchise QB is that important. Javy was very good at his peak and easily the most entertaining baseball player I've ever gotten to root for but his peak was not as elite as what Fields is hinting at.

Blending the fantasy chat into this thread because it involves Fields: Over the last 4 weeks Fields is QB12 IF you only counted his passing stats. Over the last 4 weeks Fields is RB4 IF you only counted his rushing stats (and he's not able to benefit from receptions like RBs are) So you are basically starting a low end QB1 and a top tier RB1 in the same roster slot. Crazy

What a horsefeathering stupid deal. Sick of this streaming crap. The other day I tried to put a Dayton game on tv for my wife (her alma mater) and it was streaming only. Xfinity’s espn app was broken and wouldn’t play the game, so I pulled it up on my phone and attempted to cast it to my tv and that wouldn’t work either. After 10 mins of trying I gave up and decided to watch something else. You probably know this already, but the B1G's new TV deals that start next year include a handful of football games and a lot of basketball games on Peacock. Michigan specifically isn't gonna be dealing with too much of that, but that's the world we're in now. Yeah I'm aware. They also have a steady stream of basketball games that are on BTN+ only, which is a paywalled streaming service that is not available to people who get BTN with their cable package. If you only want to watch games for your school the price is $10 a month. If you want to watch everything its $15 a month. There are other non-revenue sports on there and archived games but its a rip off to me. Luckily Michigan only has 1 game on BTN+ this year. For a solid decade we were in the golden age of live sports and had access to almost everything we ever wanted if you had an inclusive enough cable package. Then college conferences started breaking off into their own networks and my cable provider doesn't carry the ACC network, so occasionally an exciting game is on that I cant tune into. Then streaming started plucking away games from all the sports onto various platforms. Now networks you already pay for are putting games on a separate paywall. shameless greed.

Am I the only one that’s irrationally upset the Bears didn’t get one of those 2 point conversions against the cowboys so the stat could be 30+ points in 3 straight games and lost? It also keeps the Bears from matching that 2020 stretch where Mitch said horsefeathers it and torched bad defenses Also who would have ever guessed the Chicago Bears would be the proud owner of that accomplishment?

I sit corrected. Jimbo has turned this program into an even bigger dumpster fire than I realized. I cannot remember the last time we had a game that wasn't televised. It's not because A&M stinks - the new ESPN/SEC deal gives ESPN the right to put one (cupcake) game a year for every conference team on ESPN+. Just for fun, if you took Fields season stats (rushing and passing) and projected them over a 17 game season you’d get: 3,805 yards, 31 TDs, 12 INT Considering how slow he started the season that’s some good horsefeathers from QB1

Yeah re: Claypool I was a little surprised that he was used less today than last week. I’d have to check the snap count but it seemed like a lot of the time when he came into the game it was for a play to him. Figured with 1.5 weeks he’d be able to learn a couple dozen plays and could have been out there more often than not even on plays where he isn’t the main read. I could be completely wrong though.

Definitely would have IMO. This one goes on the list of inexplicable Bears losses. Without veering into Sulley territory, the Bears list has to be longer than any other team. It was a really frustrating way to lose, coming into the 4th with a 24-10 lead, seeing an INT overturned by iffy call and then immediately a TD, then a Fields pick 6 followed by heroic 67 yard run only to miss the XP. Than all the iffy penalties. As I’ve been saying I want them to win but don’t care if they lose. That is still true. A loss is good to some degree but when you are watching the game and know that it took like 10 things all going Detroit’s way for them to win the game it’s super frustrating.

I’m convinced there is some conspiracy where Poles has asked the NFL to help them tank (I’m kidding). Last 2 games were both wins without egregious officiating. Imagine being 5-5 with Fields playing like he has?
