  1. I know the Bears aren’t supposed to be good at all but there is no point in watching this team if they aren’t going to let fields pass. He’s been terrible but watching him develop is the only reason I’m here
  2. Oh sweet another possession when we just basically punt it away. Wtf
  3. That one didn't make the end zone Aren’t they allowed to fair catch in the field of play for a TD or is that a college rule?
  4. Fields ruins another possession by tripping over his own guy
  5. Certainly looks better than certain 1st rounders in that draft Edit: as he throws an INT
  6. horsefeathering embarrassingly bad throw
  7. Why the hell do we return every kickoff
  8. Terrible defense that entire drive
  9. Brown appeared open. Was he on the lowest side of the screen on the replay? Looked momentarily open but also had another WR with defender running towards him. You could be right though
  10. Fields 1-4 on the first drive but I think it was more on the line and WR. The screen pass never had a chance, 2 of the other incompletions he was under pressure pretty soon after the snap. The scramble it didn’t appear like any WRs were open
  11. Fumbling the first snap is a great start
  12. Was really hoping OSU/Wisconsin would be one of those night games where UW stays in the game and keeps it close until the end. Does not appear to be the case.
  13. Outscored opponents 183-24 this year, 2 P5 teams (albeit Colorado is terrible and MSU may not be better) Looking at their schedule, Iowa is at home but Penn State and Wisconsin are both at home. I can see 10-2 or maybe 11-1 if they can pull off a road win. Maybe I’m jumping the gun. They looked good today though.
  14. I'm shocked at how little scoring there has been in that game Weird. 20 points in the first quarter, 10 the next 2. Feel bad for those that slammed the over
  15. Well Michigans defense looks terrible so far and they look shell shocked playing Maryland. You may end up being right derwood
  16. Really we're having phenomenal luck with 1 run games. 14-8 in 1 run games since July 17, 8-18 before that. This is the 2nd 4 game win streak with all wins being by 1 run in the last 5 weeks.
  17. Michigan is favored over Maryland by 17 and 80% of the money is still going towards Michigan so....maybe not. Kinnick next week is the test. First road game against a great defense. Feel free to bump this post if Michigan unexpectedly has a very close win or loses. I don’t think they’ll lose, but Maryland loves chucking the ball and can put up a lot of points. They did last year too and Michigan won 59-18 in College Park. Different Michigan defense and as you implied untested but playing at home Michigan shouldn't have an issue (Boy I'm giving myself a lot of potential crow to eat)
  18. Michigan is favored over Maryland by 17 and 80% of the money is still going towards Michigan so....maybe not. Kinnick next week is the test. First road game against a great defense. Feel free to bump this post if Michigan unexpectedly has a very close win or loses.
  19. They probably should have at least given him a QO, eh? #-o why the heck didn't they do that? Makes no sense
  20. Our leading receiving TE is out Sunday (Ryan Griffin), Velus Jones is doubtful, Roquan and Jaylen Johnson are questionable. Dammit Velus needs to get healthy and play.
  21. God. I remember those days. WTF I can't even believe that happened, even now. Not to defend the Bears per se, but that used to be more common. The GM role also changed a lot in the past 30 years and became highly player personnel/scouting focused with the advent of the salary cap in the mid 90s. But I don't think the Bears were the last team to adopt a GM title (or reestablish, after firing Finks). A funny alternative history maybe exists where Michael doesn't eff up the McGinnis hiring and stays on as Pres until 2011, when George replaced him. Phillips never becomes CEO and they operate old-school with no GM even longer than they did. But Michael gets demoted and Phillips first big moves as CEO/Pres are the Soldier Field deal and hiring Angelo as GM. Angelo then tries recruiting Saban who turns him down mostly because he wanted GM duties. IIRC, Lovie was seen as like 3rd choice behind Saban and someone else. Fun sequence of events leading to a failed McGinnis hiring and then the best stretch of the Bears in the past 30 years. This made me look back because I don't remember that coaching search too well. Looks like the Bears interviewed Saban, Lovie, Jim Mora Jr, Romeo Crennel, Mike Nolan and Russ Grimm.
  22. Going to be a really interesting offseason for them. They had the 6th highest payroll in the league this year which is pretty significant for the Sox. They tanked for 4 years to get a core that has given them 2 playoff wins in 3 years. Maybe TLR “retiring” helps spark something but in reality they need to shake up their core. Just about every key position player besides Abreu (who is 36) had a disappointing season. It’s probably still salvageable but it won’t be a breeze for them. They tried to copy the Cubs tanking plan and so far have gotten little out of it
  23. No worries I feel the same way. I realize that many many athletes are likely think similarly but it bothers me that he’s so vocal about it.
  24. who is the promising rookie safety? Brisker was a 2nd
