  1. Yeah Jerry has done a good job providing (expensive) food and drink options to distract us from the mediocre product he puts on the court.
  2. One of these things is not like the other...
  3. I'm extremely proud of this board for going through an entire ITYSL game thread without posting the "We're all trying to find the guy who did this" gif. It's like we all knew there was going to be a long run and we're waiting for the perfect time to use it.
  4. Blackhawks 3 minutes away from a devistating win against the Flames. I'm starting to sound like that whats his face twitter dude (edit: Jamfan) but Chicago sports are doomed to mediocrity as a ceiling
  5. And shocker they lost by double digits. They are now virtually locked into the 10 seed unless they win out and the Raptors and/or Hawks lose out. RIP JR’s playoff revenue
  6. But its still contact! - Jed probably
  7. I can't believe we're 4.5 games into the season and I'm already in apathetic mode. Obviously lots of baseball to play but my interest is waning quickly.
  8. Starting to think Everton might actually survive as well, though Leeds is in a considerably better position of course. They've played much better with Dyche in charge (12 points in 9 games after 2 points in the last 9 games of Lampard's tenure), though they still can't score worth a damn. Sad to say that I've been an Everton fan for quite awhile but I've become such a bigger fan the last 2 years with these relegation battles. Being mid-table without much chance of breaking into the top 4 was ok, but feels like every match now is super meaningful as is scoreboard watching other teams. Certainly don't *want* to be in a relegation battle, but its added some excitement.
  9. Reminder of the stakes tonight...if the Bulls win, they tie the Hawks in the standings for the 9 seed with 3 to play and clinch the tiebreaker over Atlanta. They also clinch a potential 3 team tiebreaker with both Atlanta and Toronto (but lose the tiebreak to just Toronto) for the 8 seed which is the true prize. Thus if they win tonight and the Raptors somehow lost to the hapless Hornets, the Bulls would end the night in the 8 seed. Also of note: Trae Young and DeAndre Hunter are both out tonight. Which would normally be a good thing but it would be very Bulls to lose anyways.
  10. Oh look Wisdom is in the lineup:
  11. Kap is reporting that Bears/Chiefs is going to be in Germany next year. Pretty sweet
  12. getting X-rays but he stayed in the game and what was the EV on that hit in the 9th?
  13. He had solid numbers last year and finished the last 2 months very strong. I can’t remember his contract but I don’t think he was ridiculously expensive. So I get why the Cubs would be interested in bringing him back, especially with Hendricks not being ready to start the season and young guys like Steele and Wesneski not fully established yet. But looking at his career numbers it was far from a sure bet that he’d be a solid starter (and of course only 1 regular season start so can’t draw conclusions quite yet)
  14. This doesn’t really prove that you were predicting another gut rebuild in 2012. You (admittedly astutely) recognized our lack of player development success in 2015, but that’s with 3 years of data. Predicting that one gut rebuild portends another future gut rebuild a decade later on the day Theo took over after a history of leading a team that was sustainably successful is quite a bit different. theo outlined his plan from day 1. Focus on player development, try to win every year but dont sacrifice the future for the present, etc Of course he failed on all 3 of those goals but there was no reason to believe he was being disingenuous back in 2012, except maybe the 3rd point.
  15. Because of his spring, or the fact that the his solid numbers last year were a little flukey?
  16. Seems like all Chicago sports seasons lately (tuning out within a month or so after the season starts)
  17. Good fake rally, inches from tying the game
  18. Wrist looked good on that swing by Wisdom
  19. Nico, Swanson and Happ part of the order has passed. Do we even have to play the 9th now?
  20. If they tried to move Torrens to catcher and chose to pinch hit any sort of hitter with a pulse there, they would have lost the DH right?
  21. And then can't make him the catcher because you lose the DH (I think) so you're forced to have Gomes strike out pathetically on 3 pitches. Definitely some holes on this team. Or the manager just sucks. Or both
  22. The fact that Gomes is our pinch hitter in the biggest spot of the game.... (I realize they just burned Torrens before this but still)
