  1. What a terrible strikeout call on Wisdom, but I guess I can't complain too hard after yesterday. Damn how was that not a HR for Bellinger? He murdered it....cant believe that was only a double.
  2. It's making me laugh so hard that they are advertising a Tony Kemp poster giveaway right behind home plate.
  3. Wesneski really struggling out there despite only giving up 1 run so far. 2 IP, 4 hits, several very loud outs. Hasn't walked anyone yet though, so thats positive.
  4. Wesneski holds the A’s to 1 run in the 1st
  5. I’m sorry but calling out the A’s as terrible in the header link to the game thread is just asking for trouble.
  6. Should have paid attention last time. Though if there's not a large vote, one of us can manipulate it and force you to write a scouting report on someone like Parker Chavers 😅
  7. Cool, yeah I figured it was always just sort of a floating number, but 54 sticks with the initial Lasorda quote. I've enjoyed reading these and find myself wondering during the games whether this will be a third bucket game 😂
  8. So I see the Cubs are 14th in Athletic's new power rankings. Don't worry the power ranking weirdo is not coming back. The reason I'm bringing it up is because I noticed 4 of their 5 series so far this year have been against teams ahead of the Cubs in their power rankings, Brewers (4), Dodgers (9), Rangers (T-12), Mariners (T-12). They've gone 7-5 in those games. Good stuff
  9. Just thinking about how this Cubs team may be built to have more "third bucket games" as you call them than the average team. What happens when you exceed 54 games? lol
  10. It feels like the Cubs bullpen is shaky every April/May but they usually figure it out at some point.
  11. The funny thing is, he was terrible on calls that went against the Cubs too, just not calls that were as high leverage as the ones in the 9th.
  12. Definitely could have swept, but those were 2 coinflip games, 1-1 is to be expected as disappointing as last night was.
  13. To illustrate how bad it was for those that didn't watch:
  14. Yan Gomes may have won that game with his framing. Incredible
  15. LMAO and the game ends on a ball for strike 3. That was some of the worst umpiring I've ever seen the last 3 innings. Wow Cubs win!
  16. Dammit, now we have Freeman up as the winning run. The game should be over
  17. Holy horsefeathers this ump is horsefeathering terrible. Heyward strikes out on 2 straight balls.
  18. And then the ump gets fooled to strike out Peralta, so I guess it evened out.
  19. Seiya has been swinging at some really bad stuff since coming back. Would have been nice to have an insurance run...
  20. Not sure what other options they have. Doubt they'd put Hughes in there. Keegan pitched 2 innings last night but only 28 total pitches
  21. And then the ump calls a strike on Swanson on a pitch in the same area, but this one 95% of the way out of the zone.
  22. Robot umps, that was a terrible terrible missed call to keep Vargas from striking out. It was so in the zone that it didn't even touch the black. Luckily he got a fly out anyways.
