  1. What is it you would say you do here Tucker?
  2. Wow that was an embarrassingly terrible AB by Barnhart
  3. Alright 2nd and 3rd with 0 out for…Tucker Barnhart
  4. Ugh Wisdom hits a 108.4 mph ball with the bases loaded right to a fielder
  5. I get that there has to be a limit to how long you have to challenge but come on that was like within 1/2 second of the time expiring
  6. Will definitely a delay but looking pretty good to get the game in
  7. I hope my boss isnt on NSBB
  8. Just for fun I went and searched and found that we have 58 different topics on this forum that start with "Guess what a"
  9. Good points. I do think Ohtani will break any previous scale for mid-season rentals though for the exact reasons you outlined. Any team that gets him is getting impact starter and bat, and assuming they are in contention probably have a leg up on signing him. Knowing this, if the Cubs are serious about Ohtani, it would really help them to be in contention at the deadline. If the Cubs are under .500 they probably arent trading for him and a Dodgers/Mariners (due to west coast)/Yankees/Mets team has 2 months to make an impression on him. He'll still probably hit the market and will still probably go to the highest bidder, but it may allow him to be more open to exploring playing on the east coast or elsewhere. Feels like the Cubs best chance for Ohtani is trading for him at the deadline and then offering him enough money to be in the range of other teams, assuming his experience here is positive. Otherwise, they might have to actually be the undeniable highest bidder to have a shot.
  10. Would Ohtani agree to negotiate an extension at the time of trade? Otherwise I don't see Jed making a trade for a 1/2 season of Ohtani with the hopes that it gives them the opportunity to negotiate exclusively for a few months
  11. Reports are that the Lions came away impressed with Carter after meeting him this week. Gonna be hard for them to pass him up if he's available at 6.
  12. Funny thing about this is, in the 80s the Giants were threatening to move to Tampa and I think many people expected them to bolt. The A's owner put up no opposition to the Giants claiming territorial rights to the rapidly expanding South Bay in order to build a stadium, with the A's owner saying that its great to have 2 teams in the metro area or something to that effect. At the time the A's were possibly the more dominant franchise in the city, or at least on par. Fast forward to the 2010s after the Giants ended up building a stadium in SF city limits, and the A's were looking to build a stadium in the South Bay and were denied by the Giants due to territorial rights. Now the A's are going to move, giving SF the entire market to themselves. I know this is a well known issue, I just wanted to mention it because its crazy how avoidable this was. All that said, I don't understand the relationship between SF and Oakland having never lived there. I understand Oakland has its own identity and all that so its not like "oh well you lost your sports teams, just root for the Giants and 49ers". But it also kind of is long term...they will just be accepted as the sports teams for the entire Bay area eventually right?
  13. Well there you go then
  14. Looking ahead, likely starters against the Dodgers… Taillon vs Grove (rematch of Sat) Smyly vs Urias (rematch of Sun) Wesneski vs May Stroman vs Kershaw
  15. And one of the 2 AL teams that is ahead of us are the Rangers, who we took 2 out of 3 from. They are 11-4 against non-Cub teams
  16. Fair enough, make that 26-3 and counting. A lot of teams are going to have skewed run differentials after playing the A's lol
  17. Outscoring the A's 21-3 in a sweep (assuming no more runs scored) is exactly what you want to see against a bad team. 5-1 road trip is especially nice.
  18. That explosive Cubs offense can put up a crooked number in the blink of an eye
  19. PWIZ makes up for the defense with a 2 run triple!
  20. Torrens roster spot continues to be useful.
