  1. From Rotoworld: Hmm...I love our odds if this is true
  2. Who is this Wood character. I hope he's a good fit for the Chiefs.
  3. Any word on whether Corey is in the lineup or not
  4. Either: -Hes nursing an injury seeing as its his third game in a row off, but that wouldnt make since since he pinch ran the other day. -Hes not deserving of a spot in the lineup and is being benched -Hes gone
  5. George Offman talking about a Soriano trade on the Score. He thinks the trade is contingent on Soriano accepting a move to the OF
  6. It's just the way I see it. Manny is Sammy Sosa on the back end of his career all over again. We couldn't wait for Sammy to get moved. We'd be doing the same thing with Manny, IMO. Beltran is much younger and doesn't appear to be adapting to well to New York. I think he'd be awesome in Wrigley. I also like a balanced line up, and Manny doesn't provide that. Nomar, Aram, Lee and Manny all hit right handed. Beltran probably isn't even being shopped at this point, but he's still on my wish list. Dunn is the guy I'd like to see in left. There is a difference between Manny and Sammy though. Manny is producing . No one minded Sosa's antics too much when he was producing. I see no reason why Manny wouldnt produce for the duration of his contract
  7. And whats the deal with Beltran love. He's terrible this year for the money he makes. Only 27 walks all year? Pathetic. He's worse then Soriano in my book and he hasn't had a season to suggest that he would be better then Manny (who he makes more then) at any point in his career. Manny's power and obp way offset Beltran's speed and D.
  8. We lose Sosa's contract after the season, Prior and Z are still in arby, Lee, Ramirez and Wood are locked up for 1-2 more seasons each, if Nomar resigns it will be around what he signed this year, same with Todd. In the long term it might bite a bit in 2-3 years, but right now I see no issue
  9. Que? And whats with the hate for Manny? Sure he's a malcontent, but malcontents that play well are theoretically invisible. No way you can prioitize Huff and Floyd over someone with a career OPS over 1.000
  10. No, we will get all of them My predicted lineup for next week Todd Walker, SS Derrek Lee, 1B Manny Ramirez, LF Adam Dunn, RF Aramis Ramirez, 3B Alfonzo Soriano, 2B Jeromy Burnitz, CF Michael Barrett, C Then Nomar will take over at SS soon after and Soriano and Hairston will be our first guys off the bench
  11. OMG ADAM DUNN!! In order, I'd like: Manny Dunn Soriano Of course knowing the Cubs, they will probably end up with neither
  12. He also rejected a trade last year. I think he said he would be open to accepting a trade for someone on the West Coast. I hope this is close enough
  13. I understand what his point is. NYC has 2 baseball teams and a lot of other stuff that people worried about. In the summer, the Red Sox are pretty much the focal point. In NYC he would share the spotlight in the media with Jeter, ARod, Sheffield, Randy Johnson, Mariano Rivera, Mike Piazza, Carlos Beltran, Pedro Martinez, etc etc. In Boston, he is the focal point along with Ortiz, Schilling and Varitek.
  14. They start talks for Baez with Zambrano, but now TB gets a few prospects for Huff and Baez? I don't think so. The Cubs could easily get a better package for Manny then that.
  15. Tell me something I don't know. The Aztecs didn't use the wheel in their day to day life--even when they had to haul huge stones to build their pyramids. But that's not because they didn't understand the concept of the wheel. Many toys made for Aztec children had wheels on them. For some reason, though, they chose not to incorporate it on a larger scale. Post of the year. And I'm not kidding. Seriously that was the best post of the year. Humor doesn't come placed that well anymore.
  16. I heard him on the score. His argument is that basically: A) Aramis is a defensive liability at 3B, Meuller would fix that and provide adequate numbers at 3B B) The Cubs would make their impact trade and get the only Ramirez that is potentially better then Aramis C) It was confusing the way he described it, but basically he said the Cubs would be saving $75 million by making that trade. I'm not sure how he got that number though sorry. It was never, nor will ever be proposed, its just Stone trying to make a logical trade to use on the radio to get people to call him. I'm against the trade obviously, but I guess there is a logical progression in his thought pattern. If we were to trade for Manny, chances are it would be in a multiple team trade with the third team being a seller that wouldn't mind taking on prospects and spare parts like Mitre/Welley/Corey/etc.
  17. Steve Stone on the Score just rementioned the ARam/Manny trade he proposed. Obviously there is nothing to it, he's just getting people to call in really
  18. This sucks, because I really would love a OF of Manny/Hairston/Burnitz. I'm starting to enjoy Burnitz out there. But it makes sense that they would want our only slightly above average OF if we were to get Manny. That is why I'm hoping for a 3 way trade with either the Reds, Rangers or even Mets that involves Cliff Floyd Wait that makes total sense. Mets have wanted Soriano, the Red Sox need an OF to replace Manny with power, the Cubs want Manny, Rangers want pitching from Cubs (Mitre/Rusch + Patterson). Four way deal between the Red Sox, Cubs, Rangers, Mets???
  19. http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=95562 Boston Globe calls Manny a juvenile deliquent. This is escalating fast
  20. I'm not going to be one of those people that finds reasons to hate on people. I will agree, Dusty made good choices there. Good move to bring in Ronnie to run. At first I was a little confused about bringing in Barrett instead of Aramis, but I guess Barrett has more speed to leg out a potential DP, so that was a good move too. Good job Dusty! Now play smart every game plz
  21. OMG MACAIS DID THE WALKER SAFE SLIDE!
  22. cubs have a 2 run lead going into the 8th. Starter comes out to pitch after throwing over 100 pitches. Starter gives up 2 runs and blows the lead. Dusty comes out afterwards cluelessly to finally pull the start. Sound familiar? It should because we've seen it 2 times in the past 3 days
