  1. We don't even have our whole team yet. Once Tony Womack and Angel Pagan come back, then we can judge Dusty.
  2. Len, you and Bob better watch out. If Bob keeps telling the truth about the Cubs play and you keep mentioning statistics that Jim Hendry has never heard of, you guys are going to be canned.
  3. Why do you hate him? 2003 NLCS FLA CHC W 7 30 9 10 0 0 3 6 2 6 .333 .394 .633 0 0 0 0 1
  4. Dusty and Hendry will never catch onto that chase because they don't understand the crazy statistics that the Hardball Times 'made up'
  5. How to play out the string - By the Chicago Cubs
  6. Better question, how is our 4th best 2B (rated by Dusty) playing today. I guess its a nice lineup...minus perez and white
  7. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!! Go Royals/Pirates/Twins! Welcome back to HELL Digli

I think that's an overstatement. He's a very good shooter and moves pretty well without the ball, but his defense is inconsistent and his ballhandling is below avg. at best. sure, but he's the guy who comes in and gives the team a jolt of energy. How many 4th quarter comebacks has he been responsible for? I just don't think you find that level of excitement and energy too often from a young player. He's not the best player on the team but he is exciting. Now we all know that you can prove anything with the right statistic, but I've seen several efficiency related statistics (basketball sabr in nature) that suggest that Gordon is not a very good all around ballplayer. That worrys me a bit. Anyone hear about this Marrion for Chandler and #2 pick trade rumor. It's being discussed in a couple of forums, and they were talking about it on the Score earlier. Anyone know if it has legs?
  9. Has anyone scored negative runs in a game ever?
  10. At our worst we can get swept by the Royals too
  11. Lots of Bynum and Neifi!!! Oh boy!!! Hopefully that will mean Cedeno on the field as well though. Lineup (in no particular order just the players) 1B Todd Walker 2B Tony Womack 3B Neifi Perez SS Ronny Cedeno LF Freddie Bynum RF Jacque Jones CF Juan Pierre C Hank White DH Phil Nevin How could you even begin to construct that lineup. I might do Walker Womack Jones Nevin White Cedeno Bynum Pierre Dusty would do Pierre Womack Walker Nevin Cedeno Bynum Jones White Edit: Against a righty, not a lefty...
  12. Interesting note: The Cubs are currently on a 2 day non-losing streak! Keep it up boys!
  13. Walks would now take 6 balls to occur. OBP would be an illegal statistic, and anyone caught using it to evaluate talent would be banned from baseball.
  14. Jan Koller. The Czechs were very very overrated if the loss of one striker (albeit their best) was the sole reason why they couldn't get one point in their last 2 games.
  15. Lost in the shuffle of the US disapointment was the play of Ghana. They played very solid in the last 2 games (despite all the ticky tack fouls) and they deserved to advance. Congrats to Ghana, although I wish it didn't come at out expense. Even though they got a lopsided win against us, the Czechs should be more disapointed then we are. They played like crap the last 2 games and their frustration was evident at the end of today's game. Somehow Italy played only decent and not only advanced but avoided Brazil. What a wacky group this was....
  16. Wow did that sign just say "Quakes fans believe in you" presumably referring to the San Jose Earthquakes of the MLS? Good stuff
  17. I just got sick to my stomach listening to Mike North go on about why AJ should be considered the AL MVP. He's not the only one. Mike Murphy of all people has been doing the same.
  18. At least you have time to focus on the Cubs now. *ducks*
  19. At least they played postseason ball for the Cubs. Although certainly not because of them. Mark Guthrie doesn't serve up a HR ball to Mike Lowell in Game 1, we might be talking about a sweep of the Marlins and 2003 WS Champs
  20. Cya approximately next Tuesday Cubs offense.
