  1. I believe so, I think it was sometime in late July/early August.
  2. I just don't see how a couple of Mid-tier FAs is going to bring us back into the playoffs unless the Cubs strike gold like they did in 1998, 2001 and 2003 to a lesser extent.
  3. What does Juan Pierre call that?
  4. And that's why they aren't one of my favorite Cub teams. They seemed to just be happy to make the playoffs. Honestly, Brant Brown catches that ball, we wrap things up on the last day of the season, Mark Clark doesnt pitch game 1 and we might have been competitive in that series. We were very competitive in the last 2 games of the series. Should have won game 2, could have won game 3. Yeah, and Giant fans can say had they won at Colorado there wouldn't have been a 163rd game of the season. Or had we won at Houston there wouldn't have been a 163rd game. I still remember Javy Lopez hitting that game-tying homer off of Tapani, who missed his location by four+ inches. Thats another thing, he shouldn't have been in to start the 9th, but pen members like Beck and Mullholland were so gassed trying to get the Cubs into the playoffs, Tapani had to keep going

  6. I like dark humor, but this one is tiptoeing the line of decent/indecent. I'll laugh.
  7. Sanchez signles to right. Jones threw it over the backstop. Wow. I know, your wondering how it managed to go over the backstop on the 36th bounce just like I am.
  8. Cubs on 1.5 games out of last place in the Central!
  9. Just a suggestion, you might want to PM him. This might get bumped all the way off the board before Bruce gets a chance to see it.
  10. Help the Cubs win... I answered my own question.
  11. How are we going to pry Neifi back from the Tigers?
  12. The way the Bears camp has unfolded, by Oct 1 it may be time to put on the Bulls shirts
  13. When have we had an upper echelon payroll and high fan expectations/demands? Well we've been owned by a multibillion dollar corporation and had at least 90% stadium capacity for the year since the early 1990's. Oh also, we play in the third largest market in the United States. No reason why we didn't have a upper echelon payroll in the past. But then again, looking at this 95 million dollar disaster, do we really need to be throwing money around?
  14. I didn't think that was the point of this thread. I thought it was to lay out what you would like to see happen. Oh, well I was just pointing out that signing players like Zito and Soriano is highly unlikely
  15. For those of you predicting that we got a top line FA, please name the last one that we got.
  16. Aardsma is hit now, may be hurt Took a liner off his landing leg, took a few warmups but hes ok
  17. What happened? Please don't tell me another pitcher just went down to injury?!??! Rothschild HAS TO GO NOW!! Too a liner off his forearm I think. Certainly not as hard as Prior's liner last year, but still bad enough to make h im leave the game
