  1. Really enjoying having Tony Romo and Phillip Rivers as my fantasy QBs. Really happy I was able to trade Rex Grossman for Javon Walker last week.
  2. I'm not sure what you guys mean by lack of respect...I mean when the Bears started out 5-0, pretty much everyone was calling them the best team in the NFL, ESPN was pumping out 30 pieces on the Bears per week, and everyone was pretty much anointing Rex Grossman as Brett Favre Jr. Since then, the Bears have looked a little less dominating as before, and the media has moved on to a new flavor of the week, first the Colts and now the Chargers. That's life
  3. What was GMJ's BABIP last year compared to his previous years? Has this been discussed here? I bet you he is bad next year.
  4. And Bonds peaked from 37-40, what's your point..that theres some kinda outside element to explain why these sluggers are peaking at different times then those normally do.
  5. And yet you know that this whole time he has an all-out plan to completely render the offense, defense and special teams useless.
  6. I second that I'm sure that he was talking about the Giants game.
  7. Maddux would be a better option then a lot of the names being floated around. However, his name alone would make him more expensive.
  8. The best thing about Grossman is that he's learning while winning. He started out strong, then teams learned how to game plan against him. Now he is making adjustments. From what I hear he is a very hard worker, spending tons and tons of time studying game film and what not. Once he learns to recognize defenses better and what not, I kinda expect him to pick his game up and start putting up more consistent numbers. The good thing is, the Bears pretty much have this all locked up and have the next 6 games to continue to learn and evolve. The hope is that by the playoffs, he will be where he should be at. That said, this game will be a huge test and will go a long way in seeing whether Grossman will be a true stud in the league or an above average QB who can pick apart bad defenses.
  9. Wow! What a prediction! Wow what a timely response! :):)
  10. Even so, based on the acquisitions the Cubs have made so far, OBP doesn't seem to be very high on the priorities. Our OBP will still be in the bottom 5 in the NL next year.
  11. I honestly can't wait to see how Rich Hill does next year. Probably the thing I'm looking forward to most next year.
  12. We need a poll of who is worse, Murph or North. I am going to say North is worse because he is a Sox fan :)
  13. As opposed to Hendry's favorite model Speed Catches ball Power Power Power Scrappy Can play the game right way Catcher until he has proven himself for 2 years Pitcher
  14. I was booing another pathetic loss (I believe the Cubs had some from behind to take the lead going into the 9th and then Dempster blew it) This is what I posted in that game thread: BTW Cali, I haven't forgotten about what we talked about a few weeks ago. I just haven't had time to ship it out. When I get back from Thanksgiving, that will be one of the first things I do. Fake Edit: I don't know why I decided to post that personal note on a public forum rather then PM him or even easier IM him. I also don't know why I used something called a fake edit.
  15. Hester made a public appearence today wearing a Cardinals hat.....Grrr.
  16. OPS against selected pitchers: Schilling .750 Zambrano .250 Wood .714 Buerhle .548 Sabathia 1.132 Bonderman .664 Willis 1.446 Pettite 1.750 Oswalt .450 Lowe .594 Color .654 J. Santana .250 (6 ABs) Radke .706 Pedro .414 (43 ABs) Glavine 1.007 Musinna .958 Harden .364 (22 ABs) Haren 1.385 Zito .392 (36 ABs) Moyer .772 Meyers .979 Peavy 1.700 (5 ABs) C. Young 1.333 (6 ABs) Schmidt .714 (7 ABs) Washburn .472 Carpenter 1.040 (25 ABs) Suppan .511 Mulder 1.143 Kazmir .511 Burnett .200 Halladay .606 (54 ABs)
  17. Career hitter vs. pitcher stats for Soriano
  18. Are you a hard worker too with a positive make-up that will be an inspiration to this team? Just say yes and we'll sign you to 6/$40M Sorry, not sure which team you are affiliated from, but since I posted this I've gotten offers for 7/$96 from the Angels and 13/$224 from the Yankees. (and and I'm definitely from more of the 'clubhouse cancer' mold)
  19. Hey guys, I am thinking about putting myself on the market this season. Anyone know any agents numbers? I haven't played ball since Freshman year of High School, but back then I had an OBP somewhere around .450 that year...and boy could I catch the ball and run. I am looking for somewhere around 4/$20 million.
  20. Yup, and then when you click on that link, there is another link, which put you at some weird Cubs rumor blog
  21. Similar early career stats, breakout seasons at the same age. At a similar point in their careers, both low walk, high K, lots of power, just got huge contracts, Both once skinny Domincans... Crap, I forgot one more....both were almost traded for each other at one point in 2000.
  22. I really don't like seeing people including Prior in their projected rotations for next year. Not going to happen folks
  23. Bears 3 games up in the NFC over the Giants, Saints and Panthers with 6 to play. If the Bears play .500 ball (and they should with Det, Min, GB, Tampa left), one of those teams would have to go 6-0 to match them..and even then, the Bears have the tie breaker over the Giants at least.
  24. DePaul played competitive tonight...gives me hope that they will be in the running for an NIT bid
