  1. The Vikings and Giants were both winning teams when we faced them. And there's only 5 winning teams in all of the NFC, and we've beaten the one of those that we've faced, so it's not like anyone in the NFC has faced a lot of stiff competition. Not to mention that if the Giants and Packers hadn't played us this year, they'd be at .500 Ok, I'm reaching here..
  2. WOW!!! I FOUND SOMETHING MILDLY POSITIVE WRITTEN ABOUT THE BEARS!!! http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/9891493
  3. He could, but how can you assume that when he's only done that once in his career? Albeit, he hasn't really been healthy since then, but still 1 year is a small sample size, especially after 3 years of not pitching regularly.
  4. Not that it matters, but Rex Grossman drops 6 spots in the QB rankings to #18 after his 20-36 197 yards, 1 TD performance. I don't get it, did he really look that bad on Sunday? http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2708631 I know he's 4th in the league in most INTs, but he's also 4th in the league in TD passes. It's not like this guy is terrible. I mean he is ranked in between Eli Manning and Jon Kitna!
  5. Bears fans talking about beating winning teams?? The only two winning teams the Bears have beaten are the Seahawks and the Jets. Anyways, this game means absolutely nothing to the Bears, while it could potentially mean everything for the Packers (or it could mean nothing, depending on how the earlier games turn out). The Bears don't need this game. Please just let the Packers win. Not our fault the rest of the NFC North sucks badly.
  6. Sadly, I'd do that trade. Actually no I wouldn't. Actually yes I would. Crap. No comment
  7. Putting a crimp in your New Years Eve plans? Significantly. I caved and agreed to go to one of those buy your tickets early events at a local bar, because a lot of friends are coming in from out of town and didn't want to do a house party. I'm not a big fan of these things, but can deal with it since it's top shelf booze. But it's from 9-2 and there's no guarantee the game will even be on TV there. So it's either show up late and waste a large amount of the "free" booze, or spend all week trying to convince some prissy restaurant/lounge manager to have the game on TV. Exactly. The NFL just screwed up the NYE plans of about 55,000 people at the game too who probably bought tickets and now have to sell their Bears tickets on EBay. If we weren't playing the Packers, I'd bet that the secondary market right before the game would be very beneficial for those that really want to goto a Bears game.
  8. Dallas losing tonight kills me. They will likely now be a #5 seed. With the way the Seahawks are playing, this means Dallas will likely upset Seattle at home and advance to play the Bears. Dallas is the one team that scares me in the playoffs as our secondary simply will not be able to stop both TO and Glenn IMO. Any other team and I'd feel comfortable, but not the Cowboys, although it now seems like a formality that we play them.
  9. Could bare the fact that you were a Sox fan, but a Packers fan too? That's 2 strikes....I'll be watching closely for the third ;)
  10. Is that a good thing? Losing 15 pounds over the offseason while coming to camp more trimmed and cut = good thing Losing 15 pounds over a 2 week period following a tramatic arrest and death of your best friend = bad thing Of course, quitting marijuana and its appetizing side effects may do that to someone too ;)
  11. So that you can beat us in the second round again? Geez, I dunno... BTW, why is it very unlikely that the Bears with their starters at least playing a quarter or two can beat the Packers, who truely aren't very good?
  12. Now that the NFC West and NFC South have been locked up, looks like these will be the Bears opponents next year: Home: vs. Packers vs. Lions vs. Vikings vs. Cowboys vs. Giants vs. Broncos vs. Chiefs vs. Saints Road: @ Packers @ Lions @ Vikings @ Eagles @ Redskins @ Raiders @ Chargers @ Seahawks Folks, that looks like a tough schedule. All of the 5 non-divisional home games are harder then any home game we played this year. And the road schedule looks freaking hard too.
  13. I really don't think the Bears are trying their hardest...and why should they? Why shouldn't they? It's still football. I don't care if we've clinched everything, it's the Lions, they are a two-win team, and a division rival. Come out and play hard. No but why show all our confusing schemes on offense and defense while giving our future playoff opponent more tape to study. Just do the basics and get by healthy. UMF? Positive outlook!? WITH A SPORTS TEAM!? *brain explodes* Your right, it doesn't matter, we are just going to lose in the second round anyways. Play to win boys! 14 win regular seasons are remembered far longer then Super Bowl victories you bums!

  16. You really think the Bears D is playing like crap? I can't get the game here, but I am sure they are running very simple schemes and not giving anything away.
  17. Also, according to Rotoworld: Just a reminder: Grossman started out 4-16 for 1 yard in the first 25 minutes of the Bears playoff game last year (no joke)
  18. They haven't made it since 1997, why start now :(
  19. The White Sox have a lot of young pitching...the Yankees need a lot of young pitching. Crede appears to be on the way out of Chicago, ARod appears to be on the way out of NY. Hmm...
  20. Reminds me of the Bulls two seasons ago. Had to claw their way into a playoff spot, and finally they were 1/2 game back of Philly, and low and behold, they were playing Philly next. They demolished them and took the 8th seed away. Let's hope it happens to the Hawks tonight. That was last season, not two year's ago. The team two year's ago had no trouble getting into the playoffs as they had the 3rd best record in the East. Actually I am referring to two years ago. When the Bulls started 0-9, they had a long way to crawl back to get into playoff contention. In Early January they stood at 14-18, while I think Philly was 15-19 or something. The Bulls killed Philly by like 30 points to improve to 15-18. The reason I made the connection is because the Bulls that season and the Hawks this season are relatively at the same points of their seasons and both started out rather bad (although the Hawks started out hot but lost a bunch in a row and fell into a hole)

  22. That's rough. At least he can play for now.

  24. What is it about them? I'm guessing it's the same thing about the general population that does it all the time. Touche. But still you'd think with all that money they could get a cab or have a limo escort them around town.
  25. Man, what is it about professional athletes thinking that they can drink and drive whenever they feel like it? Let's hope this is an isolated incident, because I had previously held his character in high regard.
