  1. He has had a 201 yard (against GB) and a 140 yard game (against SD) since coming back.
  2. To this day, I still can't wrap my mind around this game. I mean a 4 hit CG shutout with the playoffs on the line. He even had 2 hits and a run scored that game. Sure it was against the crappy Reds, but still unbelievable.
  3. You think the Bears doubters were bad this year, if we lost this game, expect to here us dismissed as afterthoughts no matter how good we are next year. Even if we go 15-1 while giving up 5 points a game and score 35 points per game, we will be counted out until we win a playoff game.
  4. I read somewhere that the Seahawks signed someone to their active roster who was working as a loan officer and was studying to be a border guard until Seattle contacted him. There's a guy that's last game had been 1/1/06 that played on Saturday, probably the same guy. It floored me that Dallas didn't go after him. His coverage what crap, but that's to be expected. he didn't have time to understand the schemes. Grossman had better be all over whoever is matching up with him. We're going to own this game if the offensive gameplan is halfway decent. They said he played halfway decent, but thats probably because Dallas didn't have any tape on him and know what to expect.
  5. I read somewhere that the Seahawks signed someone to their active roster who was working as a loan officer and was studying to be a border guard until Seattle contacted him.
  6. Expect that line to go down during the week IMO
  7. The previous week went by pretty quickly. The Bears and the amount of Cubs transactions are surely making the Cubs off-season go faster. Last time Cubs beat the Seahawks 37-6. Lets have a repeat. I don't think we have enough offense to win 37-6. Unless Aramis really went off. Then again, the Seahawks don't really have many good pitchers (by that I mean soft tossing lefties).
  8. I know Romo screwed up the game and screwed up what should have been an easy hold, but (and I'm not being ESPN here) he did make a really nice heads up play to quickly regroup and run for the end zone. A lot of QBs in that situation would panic and start their run too late or worse yet try to find a receiver. He almost made it too! That said, pretty crappy job there Romo.
  9. No, start your own NBA thread :)
  10. Anyone listening to the DePaul game on 670 the score? This announcer sounds like he has larengitis (sp?) I have no idea why he's still calling the game.
  11. FWIW, I read in the Sun Times I think that Lovie called Thursday's practice the best and most intense he has seen in sometime. The #1 offense was going against the #1 defense, which is rather unusual for this time of year.
  12. How many Super Bowls has Andy Reid won as a head coach compaired to Brian Billick, Mike Holmgren and Bill Parcells? George Seifert has two Super Bowl rings, Barry Switzer has one, and Dusty Baker came within five outs of winning a World Series. I know it, I just kinda assumed that they basically ranked the coaches in terms of their championship and postseason experience.
  13. Either Dice-K or Drew. Funny how they both ended up on the Red Sox
  14. Dunn being the second blog entry posted = priceless
  15. Interesting. Scounts, inc. rates the playoff teams based on all of their major positions, and then tabulates the score to determined the best overall team in the playoffs. The Bears are rated 4th best overall, behind 3 AFC teams: the Chargers, Ravens and Patriots. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs06/news/story?id=2720408&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab3pos2 Some interesting 'findings' Bears have the 11th best QB (out of 12). Can't really argue there. Bears have the 8th best RB. Definitely not sure I agree there, especially when TJ/CB are rated below Corey Dillion and Lawrence Maroney. The other 6 teams I can live with because the best RBs in football are in the playoff field.
  16. Bulls need a win tonight. They have a tough schedule coming up and they need to beat up on teams like the nets
  17. Your acronyms confuse me. I just saw PSU starts a series with Alabama in 2010, that should be pretty cool. I wish more Big Ten teams would play SEC teams during the reg season. As a Mich. fan, I am sometimes embarassed by the lack of non-midwest teams on their schedule, though they do play Oregon at home next season. the 08', 09', 10' non-conference gigs are still open. Michigan did play Vandy this year :)
  18. It could be worse. The crappy big program in a large conference that you cheer for could have a NCAA drought of 10 years (michigan). (waits for Jon's response)
  19. For those wondering about the game time next week, David Haugh weighs in:
  20. How does this affect the Bears' chances? Wow, I am a huge idiot, I can't believe I wrote that knowing full well the Bears controlling HFA I still pick the Saints though
  21. people don't seem to be as giddy this offseason. Rightfully so. It's been a lot better than the previous two offseasons, for what that's worth. But it is coming of a season that was so much worse. That's true, but I don't recall too many being "giddy" since the 2003-04 offseason. It's been cautious optimism at best. At least after last year, we know the improvement won't have to be too great to win in this dumpster of a division, and it would take something utterly catastrophic for the Cubs to be as bad or worse than last year. Yes but there was optimism and just excitement in general for baseball in past offseasons. This offseason, while the moves have been there sorta, but after being kicked in the proverbial groin 96 times last year (and many more off the field), its just harder to get excited for Cubs baseball. I am mildly excited for it, and very excited for baseball in general to start however.
  22. OK, this signing makes sense now.
  23. Didn't Veres give up the HR to Lowell in game 1 too? Or was the Guthrie?
  24. I believe the speculation is that if the Giants win on Sunday, the Bears game will be Sunday. But if they lose, the winner of Seahawks/Cowboys will play the Bears on Saturday. This kinda sucks because the Bears might only have 6 days to prepare for their opponent. I really hope that they play Saturday. I don't want to miss chunks of the game. I can blow off what I'm doing Saturday, but Sunday will be trickier. I'm hoping it's Sunday, because that's when football should be played. Hoping for the 4:00 game too, because my house should be empty then. Would be nice to be able to watch all the other games before the Bears. I would probably be too depressed to watch the rest of the weekend games if the Bears lost.
