  1. If no one discovered the answer yet, Ron Santo to sing TMOTTBG.
  2. I would normally be pissed that Murton isn't playing, but since he decided to go back to his first half 2006, ground ball or nothing philosophy, I don't think I can.
  3. who was the inside threat in the last bulls dynasty? Both Jordan and Pippen were able to post up. Thus taking higher pecentage shots. No one one this current team can post up. Therefore, both Jordan and Pippen were inside threats. Just like at the deadline there was talk of the bulls trading for Bonzi Wells because he was a guard who could post up and could provide a consistent inside threat. How often do you see anyone on this team back someone down like Jordan and Pippen did? Yeah, if we start comparing this team to Jordan's Bulls we're going to find the '07 ballclub falls short in more than one way. I think we should all remember that this team is not done building yet. A few sportswriters have noted that we still have a good cap situation, and we're getting another lottery pick this year. In my mind I'll be happy if we can vanquish the Heat and then take the Pistons deep. I'm not holding out much hope of beating both of those teams in succession this year. If we did that, I would be incredibly shocked -- pleasantly so. But this ballclub's not going anywhere for awhile. I don't see us sinking downward for a few years. Regardless of what happens this year, we should be back and even stronger next year. I don't think you can say that about either the Heat or the Pistons. Both are getting older, not better. I don't think we'll have any cap room after we extend Gordon Deng and possibly resign Nocioni. We'll always have our MLE though
  4. Not the Pacers have made great deals recently, but the Bulls would either have to a) give up more or b) take on Tinsley or another bad contract along with O'Neal for the Pacers to accept that deal. That said, as a Pacer fan, I'd be very interested in some incarnation of O'Neal to the Bulls for young players/draft picks. Tyrus, Duhon, 10th pick for JO?
  5. Optimistic is an understatement! Playoffs predictions: Mavs over Warriors in 5 Suns over Lakers in 5 Spurs over Nuggets in 6 Rockets over Jazz in 7 Pistons over Magic in 4 Cavs over Wizards in 4 Raptors over Nets in 7 Heat over Bulls in 6 Conference Semis: Mavs over Rockets in 6 Suns over Spurs in 6 Pistons over Heat in 6 Raptors over Cavs in 6 Conference Finals: Mavs over Suns in 7 Pistons over Raptors in 6 NBA Finals: Mavs over Pistons in 5
  6. We're screwed Wow, Hinrich, you idiot. Why? Because he supposedly said that they can beat the Heat in a 7 game series? Would you rather him say we have no chance? Besides, it's not like the Heat weren't going to give 100% effort in the series, anyways. Hinrich said his quote before last nights game when the Bulls were locked into the 2 seed. It was kinda weird when I read it, almost like the Bulls were aiming to play the Heat. Well now they have their wish. Some of the quotes: Hinrich: Nocioni: Remember, these quotes were made before the NJ game. So you want Hinrich and Noc to just shut up when the reporters ask about the Heat. Heat - Bulls is a much sexier match up than Nets/Wizards/Magic - Bulls. And if Wade or Shaq got trash talking from what Hinrich or Noc said, I don't know how either passed 3 years of college. Well no, obviously they asked them direct questions about the Heat. I'd prefer an answer that shows focus and determination like "We are only worried about beating New Jersey and clinching the 2 seed. We will worry about the Heat if we match up against them"

  8. With a 9th inning bases loaded nobody out threat, only to hit into a triple play. The triple play shall unfold thusly: Matt Murton is on 3rd base, Derrek Lee on 2nd, and A-Ram on 1st. Jacque Jones at bat. Closer Bob Wickman uncorks a wild pitch to the back stop. Murton panics or a second before stumbling towards home, where he is tagged out by 10 feet. In the mean time, Lee attempts to take third and Ramirez second, but Lee gets caught in a run down, and both Derrek and Aramis end up standing on second, where Lee is tagged out. Thinking the ballgame is over, Ramirez starts trotting back to the dugout where he is tagged for the third out. After this play, NSBB posters will blame Jacque for the loss Post of the week/month/season so far
  9. I don't think the conclusion that 98navigator made was that crazy. Its the same thing I thought of when I read the article. I'm sure Soriano didn't mean any harm, and Pie is his buddy, but its kinda weird to volunteer to push a player out of the starting lineup. Imagine if Mark DeRosa said "Hey, I love that Eric Patterson kid, I'll gladly move to 3B so he can play everyday"
  10. Cedeno and Ohman should goto AAA, with Guzman coming back up
  11. If Pie goes yard to win it, hes going to be the most hyped positional Cub since Tuffy Rhodes in '94
  12. From the most accurate and reliable of sources: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Avenue_(Chicago)
  13. No but he's not the star that everyone is envisioning Pie at eventually be. (of course its only Granderson's second year)
  14. On Comcast, they claimed that Soriano himself said he'd be out 5-7 days unless the MRI confirmed something worse. I don't know how accurate that is since he is not a doctor, but its something worth mentioning..
  15. When i saw that hit, i was like what the heck is that going to be....its been so long since ive seen a HR i forgot what it looked like
  16. Is it wrong for me to want the Bulls to play the Nets in round 1 so that my Game 5 tickets mean something? If they play the Wizards, its going to be a sweep. If we play the Nets, we will win in 5 probably.
  17. Good thing I traded Ben Sheets and Matt Holliday for Chris Carpenter and BJ Ryan before the season started.
  18. Should have sent Soriano to test Freels arm
  19. What a wasted opportunity so far. Derrek is starting to scare me with his lack of HR power. Also, I am all about patience, but in that situation, you have to be a little more agressive..
  20. If true, then trade him. I am a Cubs fan first, but I am also a big Matt Murton fan and want to see him prosper somewhere..
  21. Don't you ever want him to come back?
  22. The only positive with Sori is that even when he is sucking, he already has 5 doubles in 9 games. And yet his OPS is .528 heading into today. He has a hit in every game I think, which is weird because of his pathetic AVG and OBP.
