  1. If he throws 30-40 curveballs, we might just see a murder on live tv. Is LaRoche really hitting .146? Better not let him beat you LOOGY man My fantasy team says yes he is hitting .146
  2. Really? I don't know for a fact, but I thought Pie was much faster than pretty much anyone else except Soriano. I don't know that 1/100 of a second is going to make a difference in scoring, esp. with an unproven rookie. Pie is much faster, and a much better defender. It's a perfectly justifiable move. The only qualm I have is that he's now used Soriano, Floyd, Jones, Murton and Pie in the game.
  3. Probably wouldn't be hard at all for Dempster/Wuertz to pitch an inning in both games. It happens in DHs a lot, as long as their innings arent too stressful
  4. In the good old days, we'd have a loss in the books. since the Cubs took the lead in the inning that the game was called, the game would revert back to the beginning of the inning and the Cubs would have lost 5-2
  5. Before the season, despite having a pessimistic outlook on the Cubs season, I thought they had a decent shot to be in the mix at the end of the season if a few things broke their way. All the other teams in the division looked to be mediocre at best. However, the one thing that scared me was the Brewers. They too appeared to be a mediocre bunch, but they had one thing that the rest of the division didn't have, untapped potential. Fastforward to May 1, and the Brewers are 16-9 and 3.5 games ahead in the division (5.5 ahead of the last place Cubs). They lead the division in runs scored (albeit well behind the pace of several NL teams in other divisions), and their runs allowed are around the middle of the pack in the league. Young players like JJ Hardy and Prince Fielder are starting to realize their potential and put up solid numbers. This team looks like they are here to stay. Of course they did something like this last year, 14-11 after April, but you never really got the feeling that this team was better last year. The Cardinals and Astros both looked up for the challenge of a division race. This year they do not. If the division continues to spin its wheels, we might see the Brewers up by double digits by the All Star Break. If any team in this division has the potential to run away its the Brewers. And if that happens, this is just another quiet summer on the North side.
  6. Who do the Bears cut, Desmond Clark, who has to be more then a little upset that after his sold season we drafted a TE, or John Gilmore, by far the best blocking TE of the 3 and doesn't deserve to be demoted to third string? Apologize if this was already discussed
  7. Yeah, I don't want the World Series to start in an AL stadium because Ronny Cedeno struck out on a ball four pitch in the dirt with the bases loaded in the third inning of the All Star game.
  8. RIP Josh Hancock After an offday full of grief, the Cubs move on to Pittsburgh to open up the season series vs. the Pirates. I am assuming Rich Hill will be taking the bump on schedule. GO BULLS!
  9. When reading that, I don't want to make any early assumptions but......
  10. As much as I hate the Cardinals, I feel for the team and the organization.
  11. Thats terrible...he just pitched yesterday didnt he..
  12. You know not that this makes it a bad trade, but don't forget that the Bears had to give up their own 2nd round pick in the TJ trade. SD gave us the pick ahead of our original pick (from 63rd to 62nd) as well as a third and fifth rounder. So the trade goes: Bears trade: Thomas Jones Bears receive: 96th pick 167th pick 3rd round pick next year Since the 62nd and 63rd picks essentially cancel each other out. Still a steal for TJ though
  13. Did you hear Kiper right as they were going to break "Look at this trade.."
  14. Thomas Jones trade changes again...
  15. http://www.chicagocubsblog.net/images/broom.jpg
  16. 2 in a row and the Cubs go for the season high 3 winning streak with their supposed ace on the mound! GO BULLS! GO CUBS!
  17. Go play in the street or something. He's allowed to have an opinion, no matter how baseless it may be..
  18. Anyone? This one's the best I've found. http://www.basketballforum.com/chicago-bulls/ I used to post there a lot, but I'm not as into basketball as I am baseball. I used to be over there a lot, but now I use http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewforum.php?f=10. They seem to have more active posting there.
