  1. The Cubs of April wouldn't have fought back to take the lead (heh)
  2. Izzy justifies his playing time with a missed sign
  3. 2006: Barrett CERA: 4.75 Blanco: 4.98 Is that overall or just when Z is pitching? Since Z's era wasn't in the high 4's I'm guessing overall ;)
  4. I'm not saying that the catcher makes a huge deal, but I'd believe it makes some difference. Whether its enough to justify having personal catchers is highly highly doubtful.
  5. But but, run differential. We are pretty much like 16-10 not 12-14
  6. To update: W/Barrett: 16 IP 23 H 20 ER 16 BB, 0-2, 11.25 ERA, 2.44 WHIP Catchers ERA doesn't really mean anything. It's an interesting statistic and I'm reporting it without bias
  7. Cotts? Although he hasn't been stretched out in awhile..
  8. To update: W/Barrett: 16 IP 23 H 20 ER 16 BB, 0-2, 11.25 ERA, 2.44 WHIP
  9. Just another topic of debate. A breakdown of Zambrano's starts. With Blanco starting: @STL - 7.0 IP 7 H 1 ER 0 BB, Win vs MIL - 5.2 IP 5 H 2 ER 3 BB, ND @ MIL - 7.0 IP 5 H 3 ER 2 BB, Win Totals - 19.2 IP 17 H 6 ER 5 BB, 2-0, 2.75 ERA, 1.12 WHIP With Barrett starting: @ ATL - 6.0 IP 8 H 5 ER 5 BB, ND vs CIN - 4.0 IP 6 H 6 ER 4 BB, Loss @ CIN - 5.0 IP 6 H 5 ER 5 BB, Loss Totals - 15.0 IP 20 H 16 ER 14 BB, 0-2, 9.60 ERA, 2.27 WHIP Barrett is behind the plate today...
  10. I think emotional messages are much more important in football where emotions can cause a swing in one game. A 7 game playoff series has so many swings and turns that trash talk will not do that much to effect the series
  11. True, we don't need to jump to conclusions. But almost a quarter of weed and a pipe in a rented vehicle doesn't exactly scream innocence.
  12. I'd probably say you are at least 20 times more likely to be involved in a fatal accident under those conditions then if you were stone cold sober, with both hands on the wheel and a seat belt.
  13. Wow, so he was twice the legal limit, stoned and talking on his cell phone while not wearing a seat belt. Not a great decision. Makes you think about when you do dumb or dangerous things. Do you want your loved ones finding out this is how you died?
  14. Quite frankly, I think the talent is significantly better and deeper today than it has been at any time in the past. I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Jason Marquis could have been a 25 game winner with an ERA in the low 3s if he had pitched in the early 60s. Heck he's just about on pace for that this year!
  15. I think we'll take 2 out of 3 from the Nats and end up 14-15 at the end of the weekend.
  16. 2 outs in the 7th inning, Cubs down 5-2 with their worst hitter up. The rain starts to pour down on the field and the Cubs season. Was this the turning point of the season?
  17. No but he's only 11 doubles behind the last place White Sox
  18. This team is starting to fire on all cylanders. I like it. Weekend Probables: Zambrano, Hill, Guzman (probable)
  19. It's actually kinda refreshing to have some starters in the rotation that don't have such high expectations and can pitch 8-9 innings once in awhile because their PCs arent in the 90s by the 4th inning
  20. Gary Gaetti showed such promise at first too...
  21. :plays the cure - the walk: :plays aerosmith - walk this way:
  22. hmmmmm, no idea but it doesn't sound good for the Brewers! Hit by a line drive. They say Yost took him out as a precaution
  23. Pat Hughes said that the lineups were already set, but he neglected to reveal what the lineup was
  24. Cy Snell...don't hurt us too much
