  1. This thread amuses me
  2. This is a boring game right now. Who would have thought a Villenuava-Armas matchup would be a pitchers duel
  3. They won't. Brewers get the backend of the rotation and the one good starter they will face is of course a lefty.
  4. Lilly at 91 pitches through 6 2/3. Man it would be huge if he could go 8 and save the pen.
  5. Off month maybe? He's hitting .242 with a .680 OPS this month...after last month's .668 OPS
  6. Sweet, we're getting our runs from the last 5-6 games all today.
  7. Brown and Dusty are done for the year for any Bears fans that didn't see it yet.
  8. what? he's a card fan. So that allows him to outwardly cheer for the Cards in a Cubs game thread?
  9. If it was the score would only be 2-1 because Ramirez would have popped out with Lee on second in the first. Obviously thats a stretch to assume that, but its not like Floyd did bad.
  10. Don't hate Edmonds. How bout hating Lily? Or the Cubs? I don't see how anyone can hate Lilly with the kind of season he's had. sarcasm, man. Don't hate Edmonds for hitting a home run....hate Lily for giving up one. Get it? The Jim Edmonds hate goes way way way way beyond this HR that he just hit.
  11. Incredible. Pessimistic in the TOP OF THE FIRST when we score FIRST. Wow! Well we did just see the same thing yesterday
  12. now ramirez to drive him i- oh wait its old man floyd slugging .330 on the year
  13. I apologize again. It is technically Bob Sanders turn, and I am on deck. I should have made the start today, but I am still jetlagged from Europe and I was so depressed at the Bears/Cubs losses yesterday that I went to bed at 9:30 PM, so I wasn't up to make the start. I will go ahead and put up a thread immediately after the Cubs next loss (if they do indeed lose again this year ;)) because Bob seems to be MIA
  14. He would have caught it. Jones broke the wrong direction, and then broke back and made an awkward and ill advised dive in a pathetic attempt to catch the ball. That said, Jones isn't terrible on defense, and isn't bad to have in there when his bat is compensating. Right now its not.
  15. No, its just symbolic of the day, a day in which the Cubs and Bears lost, the Cardinals and Brewers won along with the rest of the NFC North
  16. Detroit takes the lead again. Looks like the Bears will be alone in last tomorrow.
  17. Yeah, we can't hit with runners in scoring position. Oh wait wrong sport.
  18. My friend said that he heard on the radio that Brown's injury was called 'severe' is that correct?
  19. 2006 NFC Playoff teams are 0-3 today with 1 team winning (seattle) and the Giants and Dallas to play
  20. 3rd down conversions rule!!
  21. I'm much more concerned with football than the Cubs at this point. Me too but when the football team sucks, I have to revert to something
  22. Honestly, this game would be more bearable if the Cubs didn't suck
