    Can anyone with more prospect knowledge than me put Pie's prospect ranking into perspective. How highly rated is he compared to Cubs prospects over the last 20 years. If you had to rank the top prospects since 1988, where would Pie be? Please do not leave out someone just because they didn't make it in the bigs. I'm talking hype and expectations.

    Yep. :? Are people still considering them to be "insiders"? I dont' think anybody in their right mind considers them "insiders" any longer. I suppose if each of us wanted to pretend like we had inside info and posted vague hints that there may/ or may not be a deal in the near future, we would bound to be right sooner or later. OK, I'll start. My guy has mentioned that a certain Cubs pitcher might either get traded/resigned/released/win a game/strike somebody out/go on the DL at some point this year. Take it with a grain of salt though..

    I was reading another Chicago development website and their discussion about this proposal and someone mentioned that all of the existing retail tenants have been offered leases in the new space.

    My guy says that the Roberts to Cubs trade is done, but the Cubs are delaying the announcement because they want to give SoxFest its weekend in the sun.

    Holy Crap, its going all the way past Eddy! Then its definitely going to take out Goose Island and probably all the way past Red Ivy (good riddance). That sucks, I love Goose Island to eat before games. I camped out there all day last October for the playoff game where we got eliminated. The outcome sucked but I've always thought they had great food and obviously excellent beer. I didn't look that closely...if it is going to destroy half of Wrigleyville I am opposed. At least the most popular bars are on the other side of the street (Cubby Bear, Sluggers, Barleycorn, Moes). If Goose Island is gone, I will be sad. I love that place. Watched the Super Bowl last season there, also watched the #1/#2 Michigan/OSU game there, ate way too many Stilton Burgers there, etc.

    I remember a week or so ago he said he was dealing with family things. yeah i remember that too, i guess i was just hopein Or maybe he just doesn't respond to every single request for his presence here.     abreu walks a lot more than fukudome, though. i think ray lankford and luis gonzalez in his 30-37 years (minus the one huge year) are good parallels. he'll probably put up billy williams-type numbers, which won't be as impressive as when billy did that, because this is a more offensive era. LuGonz is a pretty good comparison. I think Ray Lankford's OBP is too low but he does seem to have similar BB totals.

    I'm trying to figure out a good MLB comparison to those numbers. Bobby Abreu is the one that comes to my mind.

    Oh and the worst part of this proposal. Unless they build a 7-11 into the retail section, where the hell am I supposed to get my Big Gulp to fill with booze before the game?

    Don't worry it won't happen. Or if it does, it will be extremely scaled down. This project would work a block from Wrigley, but across the street it will never happen. Mark my words, too many NIMBYs in Wrigleyville.

    Yes, its official, Sabean is the worst GM in the history of baseball. I haven't looked at any stats but wouldn't Cain pretty much be the number 2 if not 1 in Chicago (depending on which Buerhle shows up)? I don't see back of the rotation with the pitchers they have. I could be wrong though.. At this rate, we could get Cain and Lincecum for Aramis. Would anyone do that if Aramis waived his no trade clause?     What's "WRONG" with Colvin that makes so many people cool with throwing him in? I mean... it seems like some here would discard him without a second thought. Looking at his numbers, he looks like a good prospect. I'm not all that excited about trading away strong potential for a minor upgrade at 2nd base. Maybe I'm off base on his potential. Oh know you didn't use the m-word. Here we go again. I like Colvin, but I don't think too highly of him. I think he can be a regular but never a star unless he dramatically learns how to get on base more often. I think he's good trade bait before he gets too far along in his minor league career.

    That area could use some gentrifying up I guess. The area looks too late-80's, early-90s, and doesn't really have the historic atmosphere that you'd want to keep. That said, I don't think this gets approved.

    They go on sale at 10 AM online and over the phone. I believe the box office at Wrigley starts at 8 AM. And the lottery # for what # is the first wristband is at 6 AM. Wristbands are usually given out Mon-Weds of the week tickets go on sale IIRC. Man do I wish I lived in Chicago and could just head to the stadium. JR I try the wristband lottery every year and never have luck. Its about a 1 in 500 chance that your number will be early enough to matter. I hit it lucky (within 500) in 2005. Got my share of Red Sox and White Sox tickets. It's too bad I was in college when that happened so I didn't have the capital to get my full share of tickets.

    Probably because there's nothing else to discuss in here. I think someone convinced me that Rey Sanchez was not going to be able to replace Ryne Sandberg's numbers at 2B somewhere in this thread.

    When 2 of those starters are highly regarded, one being one of the highest regarded prospects in baseball last season, it makes sense. Again, I'm not saying that they can even compete in the Central, I am only saying that they can compete with the Cubs, currently a mediocre team playing in the worst division in the worst league in baseball..

    yep --Even if we go to camp with this team, I bet we'll add one or two new players before the start of the season. Yeah, crappy NRIs if/when someone gets hurt. --No. Hendry will make a trade. Hopefully, it wont be as bad as the Dontrelle Willis trade. Yeah that trade was horrible. Cueto, Jorgenson, and Taverez were awesome also. Matt Clement sucked ass. If Willis doesn't have his 2005 that's a push trade maybe slightly in the Cubs favor. Any trade that brings us Antonio Alfonseca and the 50 games he blew for us in his Cubs career is a bad one. Exactly
