  1. Have fun visiting the Rock and Roll HOF 1201024 times a year because that's all there is to do in Cleveland BRob
  2. I told you that you shouldn't have signed up for the ISP who was offering "pay per page refresh" rates.
  3. It would make sense. He probably thought they could get more if they were shopping BRob to other teams.
  4. Great I'm sure we'll either be outbid or Hendry will randomly give up the farm to get him. I disagree, there is no way that Hendry trades Pie, Marmol, Hill or the like for Roberts. I'm more afraid that he will attempt to sign an Eckstein or trade for an inferior 2B. Has it been reported what Hendry's obsession with finding a replacement for DeRosa is? For the life of me I don't understand why he is attempting to replace one of the more productive players on the team. He should be focusing his trade efforts on a top of the rotation starter. Don't know what his obsession is, but Eckstein already signed with Toronto
  5. Someone on OH mentioned that Rosenthal was on Comcast Sports Baltimore last night and had the following to say Great I'm sure we'll either be outbid or Hendry will randomly give up the farm to get him.
  6. I HATE HATE HATE THIS THREAD!!! AGGHHHH!!!! I've considered BRob part of the team for so long that I honestly will feel empty if we do not get him. Hendry has to do something else this offseason doesn't he? Other than trading Jones, acquiring Ascanio, and signing Fukudome, its been pretty much nothing for the Cubs. Not to say that getting Fukudome does nothing, but I expected at least a few smaller moves.
  7. We're already well past it. Check the Soriano thread in this board format. It's 91 pages and 2270 posts long. This thread is 100 pages and 2490 posts long. I still can't believe he got 8 freaking years. Unbelievable. You agree?
  8. That would be pretty awesome if they could somehow find a place to put temorary stands to fit 20,000 people :)
  9. Who is going to be the one to send this to page 100??
  10. I'm sure they could find a way to comfort themselves over the loss of a few blades of grass with the money they would be getting as part of the deal. Probably not considering the money they already committed to completely resodding the field.
  11. For the record, I feel like having an outdoor hockey game at Wrigley would be a horrible idea. But it would be cool to go into the ballpark in the dead of winter.
  12. Same reason Ichiro was able to win ROY in 2001, he hasn't accumulated any MLB service time.
  13. I'd prefer to keep it here. I'm in no way disrespecting what they do over there, either. That's certainly reasonable. Unfortunately, someone has already referred them over to this site.
  14. Bruce are we free to use your information to update the fans on the Orioles Hangout forum or do you prefer to keep the information on this site only? The reason I ask is because several of their posters claim to have inside information from the Orioles that claim that this deal is 100% done, and I wanted to see what they thought about your insight. As everyone else said, I hope all is well with your family.
  15. I can't see Derrek getting over 30 again. I don't think its unrealistic to see Lee get over 30. Who knows why his power numbers were so bad to start '07 (wrist or any other explanations), but he was quite studly to end the season. No 2005 Lee will never come back, but I think we could hope for 04 Lee (32 HR) at least and if you think his 2004 numbers aren't bad, consider that his OBP and SLG were both higher last year. Please don't underestimate Lee's value to the 2007 Cubs because only 22 of his hits went over the fence.
  16. You do notice that not a single NSBB insider has verified this story don't you? 98navigator posted info from his source in the media, but the info was that the trade was close but with different names then mentioned in the OH report.
  17. How many of these will there be?: "How did we get to 100 pages about a Brian Roberts trade that hasn't happened yet?" 90 pages on the potential of a Brian Roberts trade that may or may not happen, compared to the 9 pages of the NBA for the entire season. Man the NBA sucks. I'm sure SecondCityHoops has a 90+ page thread about Gasol/McGrady to Bulls trade rumors. Oh wait...
  18. The teams that score the most runs each season are the teams who put up the best team OBP. The more your team is on base, the more the team scores, the more plate appearances guys get. If you go back to Derrek Lee's 2005, not only did Lee suffer on plate appearances because of the poorly constructed line up, he had limited at bats with runners on base. His 99 XBH's that season ranks among the top offensive seasons in baseball history. It is absolutely mind boggling that with that production while hitting number 3 in the lineup that he barely reached 100 RBIs. He led the league in: BA SLG OPS Hits Total Bases Doubles Runs Created XBH In the top 5 in: OBP (4th) Runs (2nd) HR (2nd) But finished distant 7th in RBI That's what happens when you put Neifi Perez batting 1st or 2nd. Funny you mention that. If anyone has that Cubs DVD set that they released of great games for the Cubs, they randomly have a Derrek Lee 5-5 game against the Dodgers on there (Jon Koronka the starting pitcher). The funny thing about it is, the Cubs 1-2 hitters for that game were Neifi and Enrique Wilson. Wow, thanks MLB for the great DVDs of painful Cubs memories. (BTW Neifi goes 4-5 with a HR in the game)

  20. How is a left handed 25 year old starting pitcher comparable to Murton? The upside on Marshall is way more than Murton. Because maybe the 25 year old starting pitcher doesn't have an upside of more than #4 starter.
  21. And then he goes on to suggest Theriot hit in the 2 spot!
  22. BTW, I hope the trade is Marshall out and Murton in. It makes much more sense for the Cubs to trade Murton rather than Marshall and I would assume they are comparable in value to most teams. I love Murt but JH has made it so there is no place on the team for him.
