  1. Well the 4 teams to do it are the 2003 Red Sox, the 2001 Yankees, the 1999 Red Sox and the 1995 Mariners. 2003 Red Sox lost in the ALCS 2001 Yankees lost in the World Series 1999 Red Sox lost in the ALCS 1995 Mariners lost in the ALCS So 0 Eh my bad. I meant the series they were playing in, not the World Series. Bad wording on my part. In other words, it's a roundabout way of asking how much better we're looking if we win tomorrow... Well if your asking what I think your asking only 9/27 teams that have gone down 0-2 have actually won a game. Of those 9, only 4 of them have won the series.

  3. No, you can't think ahead to game 5. You have to concentrate on one game and one game only. You will figure out to do for game 5 when you get to game 5. Thinking ahead already potentially screwed us once this series.
  4. My girlfriend tries to cheer me up when I'm mad about the Cubs, and it just makes me more upset. I feel really bad for her because she doesn't know what to do when I'm like that. She thinks that by being cute and affectionate , I am going to feel better but for some reason it just makes me angrier, and then she gets angry because I brush her off and then I get angry because she gets angry that I'm angry. It's a vicious cycle
  5. They are definitely pressing. It sucks but its true. You'd think the team with a bunch of postseason veterans wouldn't freak out at the first sign of danger but they have.
  6. Good call. What else do we have to lose?
  7. 1. Yes 2. No, possible 3. Doesn't matter because the sale won't be completed until March at the earliest 4. No 5. Yes 6. Yes 7. A SS, CF, RF, Starter. Trade Soriano for 0.30 on the dollar (kidding I think) 8. No
  8. Ok soap-droppers. The pressure isn't on you anymore. We know your not going to win. So just go out there and give us an enjoyable game of baseball. I don't care if you win (ok, I do because I have game 4 tickets), I just want to not be disgusted watching you play. So... -STOP SWINGING AT PITCHES IN THE DIRT -STOP GETTING BEHIND 2-0 AND 3-1 TO EVERY HITTER -STOP $%#( GIVING UP HITS TO AUGIE OJEDA HE SUCKS -GET A [expletive] HIT "BIG 3" -SAVE US GEOVANY SOTO Oh, what's the use? Have a nice winter everyone.
  9. Glad we spent $136 million on that dude
  10. With what money? and whose?
  11. Things on my mind: -Maybe having Lilly throw on Sunday was not such a great idea -There was a thread where someone asked who the Cub killer of the series is going to be. I said Stephen Drew. Point for me -You guys think Z's arm will be in good shape to start the season opener next March? Afterall, he did only throw 85 pitches yesterday.
  12. For anyone that is reading this... I am going to bed after this half inning so my game thread wont be up until tomorrow morning
  13. Augie Ojeda has more hits today (2) than any Cubs player combined for the series except Ryan Theriot
  14. Cubs pitchers: 55 balls and 65 strikes so far
  15. I think this team was built for the regular season. The offense was built to pound pitchers who give up mistakes constantly. They face a good team, they lose. We were a victim of the bad NL Central. The only series we won against a winning team in the second half of the season was against the Brewers.
  16. Oh yeah, at least we don't have to worry about all those traffic tieups on Sunday now.
  17. Since the LDS began in 1995 there have been 48 series. Of those 48 series: -27 of those 48 teams faced an 0-2 defecit (56%) -9 of those 27 teams managed to win at least 1 game (33%) -0 of those 27 teams managed to lose in 5 games (0%) -4 of those 27 teams came back from down 0-2 to win (15%)
  18. Since the LDS began in 1995 there have been 48 series. Of those 48 series: 27 of those 48 teams faced an 0-2 defecit 9 of those 27 teams managed to win at least 1 game 0 of those 27 teams managed to lose in 5 games 4 of those 27 teams came back from down 0-2 to win
  19. Not gonna bunt with 2 outs. You were saying?
  20. How to get Soriano out: 1. Roll the ball down to the plate 2. Repeat 2 more times Profit
  21. How do you guys feel about resigning Jason Kendall for next season.
