  1. Color me unconcerned. It's obvious that his wrist is bothering him.
  2. Apparently the key to Gorzelanny is to get to him early, because he's raking now.
  3. To update through 4: Called strike: 12 Foul: 10 In Play: 11 Swinging Strike: 2
  4. This is the longest Gorzelanny has gone in any of his 3 starts against the Cubs this year.
  5. Not very encouraging... Like I said, I'm just worried the Pirates are taking a lot of pitches to force Gallagher to keep coming at them. Luckily, he hasn't been throwing a lot of balls. But you gotta figure the second or third time around the Pirates lineup is not going to be good once they get a good read on his pitches.
  6. An analysis of Gallagher's strikes the first 3 innings: Strike Looking: 11 pitches Foul ball: 9 pitches Put into play: 9 pitches Strike Swinging: 1 pitch
  7. Gallagher isn't missing a lot of bats today....lots of foul balls.
  8. agreed... I really took it badly when we started losing again. If we can build up a nice 15 over .500 cushion, I can calm down and not let day to day affairs affect me.
  9. I really hope Gallagher keeps it up. This just feels like one of those games where the Cubs jump out to a big lead and quickly blow it. Nothing against Sean, he certainly has the stuff to keep them down.
  10. Ceda, Vitters, Hill, Marmol, Pie, Colvin, Donaldson for Holliday
  11. 5 over. feeling optimistic over there jake? the pirates aren't ready to contend this year IMO, but there have been some promising signs, and i think that neal huntington has the organization headed in a much better direction (granted, it'd be hard to be worse than littlefield) I actually want the Pirates to be good. Not at the expense of us, but like Wild Card good.
  12. I honestly wonder if Gorzelanny is going to get any sleep tonight with the Cubs looming tomorrow. I mean look at his 2 starts against us this year: 2.1 IP 6 H 7 ER 4 BB 2.2 IP 6 H 7 ER 4 BB Other than that, he's been pretty damn good 08 vs. Cubs: 0-1 25.20 08 vs. Everyone Else: 3-2 2.73 ERA
  13. I hear people talk about the Bears QB situation all the time but I never hear people give suggestions as to what the Bears could have done about it.
  14. You just don't get it...this is not a very good analogy as it relates to the current scenario.
  15. WTH, Astros are about to win again. They would be alone in second, only 1.5 games behind us if they do hold on.
  16. To Dusty's credit, this was one of the games of a DH wasn't it?
  17. I only said it because he got personal/insulting about it. *shrug* Sorry, I didn't mean to sound snappy. I can just see this becoming a recurring thing, and I don't want to sift though 10 pages of "You're a bad Cubs fan for hating Edmonds" every day.
  18. God, stop using that word. It makes you sound so bitter/pathetic. Personally, I think the guys hating on a Cubs player so hard are the ones that sound bitter/pathetic. Well thats your perogative. Can we all just agree that some people are not going to ever like Edmonds, while others will. There is no need to have 10 pages wasted every game thread to calling everyone out on being a good/bad Cubs fan because of who they cheer for.
  19. Cubs winning % without Edmonds: .600 Cubs winning % with Edmonds: 1.000 It's a .400 boost with Edmonds in there. That said, I still hate him.
  20. Oh gosh, Dempster in the 9th. Prepare for an implosion the likes we haven't seen since last season.
  21. Dempster's Game Score today is 84, which would be the 4th best pitched game this year in the NL.
  22. To be fair, the Ramirez situation was not his fault, and Ramirez would have scored on his single. I know, but I want to make the numbers for Edmonds look as bad as possible.
  23. So today Edmonds has come up with 8 runners on base, 7 of them in scoring position, and none of them have scored?
