  1. I think we should refer to Marquis as "2-0" since that's how he seems to prefer every AB to start.
  2. And why are we benching DeRosa tomorrow, who just had a day off on Thursday and has been quite hot the last 8 games he's started? plus derosa's 3 year splits against LHP are .314/.385/.509/.894. I didnt realise this guy was a lefty. Soriano Cedeno Soto Ramirez Lee Fuku Edmonds DeRosa Marcrap Why would you put Edmonds into the game knowing hes a lefty, while you have him out of the lineup when you thought he was a righty?
  3. If Soto's foot doesn't catch Paulino's? If Soto's passed ball doesnt lead to a run? (I'm not trying to pick on Soto, I swear) If our best starter pitched like an ace? If our best reliever pitched like the shutdown pitcher he is? There are a lot of what ifs. It's really not a big deal. Teams lose games all the time. This particular loss we just happened to have multiple failures from our normally reliable players.
  4. Not as close as it looked/sounded. Nady caught it at the edge of the track. Proverbial extra biscuit for breakfast and all that. I don't think it was that close, but then again Nady did move in quickly at the last second to catch it. Looks like the wind got some of it.
  5. And even after that horrible loss the Cubs will be 8 games over .500 and in first place in the central.
  6. Both losses on the homestand featured favorable pitching matchups and one run losses.
  7. Any everybody hates your constant whining and overreactions. lol, he hit one hard to the warning track, what more do you want?
  8. I think it was gone with no wind I don't know, it was hit too low IMO
  9. If Lee homers here, it makes up for the 0-8 start to the series.
  10. Can he play SS? Fontenot, DeRosa and Cedeno have already been used.
  11. It's official, Soriano and Lee are hitting the same (.295)
  12. Put this in the "could have won" category if we lose.
  13. Smart move batting Johnson against a righty. I hate stupid Jim Edmonds, but he should be hitting right now.
  14. Wow, I really wasn't even paying attention to this inning, just assuming that Marmol would finish them off with ease.
  15. Fontenot's batting 2nd in the bottom half I believe But you don't want Reed batting against a righty do you?
  16. I meant if Marte leaves....Jim Edmonds should be hitting for Reed
  17. If Marte stays in...Jim Edmonds walkoff?
  18. Why the hell is he sliding? As someone said here, terrible fundamental day for the Cubs
  19. Why the hell is Fukudome bunting in the first place. We're paying him $12 million to freaking give up outs and bunt?
  20. It's still an extremely small sample size. Marmol should come in for the 9th if the Cubs don't score here. He has only pitched once since last Sunday so he should be good for 2 innings.
