  1. This is why Fukudome should be a number 2 hitter. He hasn't shown me enough power to make me believe he should be driving home the first 4 hitters in the order.
  2. OK Fuk, no IF singles, we need a gapper from you.
  3. Ramirez wth? You are awful right now... If only our big three got hot at the same time..
  4. Imagine how good he will be when he's 39 and still playing for us? The guy already has regressed. How has he regressed? His OPS last year was the second best of his career. He was just never close to $18m good to begin with. He banked off a career season and the Cubs were dumb enough to give him both money and years. Why couldn't we have just gotten Beltran 2 years prior? Also, Soriano didn't sprint to that ball because he would have no chance of catching it even if he did sprint.
  5. If this thing went to extras, who do we have to pitch? Lieber has to be out of the question, Hart too Rich Hill and Bob Howry?
  6. This is why bunting is stupid in this situation
  7. Guess that makes up for Soto's check swing hit.
  8. Ugh, wasted opportunity. At least we tied. Top of the order due up for the Phils. By any grace of God do we make it out of this inning alive?
  9. Is there a reason why Kerry Wood looks like the only person ready to come into the game?
  10. Pat thinks Ronny saw the opportunity and went on his own. If so that is absolutely moronic. With 5 outs to go in the game down by 1, I wouldn't want Ricky Henderson himself taking third, much less Ronny Cedeno. Guy has no brains. At least it worked out....
  11. Someone had to screw up there. Did Ronny mistake a hit and run?
  12. I bet Soto will take a few pitches in order to get into a hit and run situation.
  13. C'mon, you guys really thought that he'd use Pie with Ward and Soto on the bench?
  14. Since 2002, the Cubs are 27-54 against Arizona (14-26) and Philly (13-28) 453-450 against everyone else.
  15. I would not be opposed to this Marlins too.
  16. I can't stand Ramirez so far this season. He's generally not getting himself into good hitter's counts. Although strangely he has been walking a bit.
  17. Man, the Tigers are awful, and I guess the White Sox might be good this year. So after a 1 year reprieve from our rivals being good, so far it looks like its back to Cubs hating by the baseball gods.
  18. Why not? We did this last year too. He'll get the last out here and pitch the 7th. Sure I'd like to save him for the next time we face the 3-4-5 hitters, but A) the next time might be the 9th inning, and B) who would you honestly want here? Howry and his flat fastballs vs. Burrell?
  19. I doubt if we came back to win you'd feel that way. C'mon, we're in the bullpen already for them. As long as we get Burrell here, we have a decent shot.
  20. Of course Milwaukee is winning 8-6 and about to take 2/3 from the Mets in NY. Our whole team (offense, defense pitching) has underperformed this weekend.
  21. I don't know what it is about the Phillies. I'm not saying that they aren't good, but c'mon this is ridiculous.
