  1. Where will the like-o-meter be now? He's gotta be at like -19% or so right now.
  2. So Jim, I will actually like you if you hit a HR here. Realize the significance of this and come through.
  3. Why can't we win this? If we get into their pen by next inning we have a shot. 9 outs for 5 runs and we need to shut them out, I don't think so, especially with the lineup we have out there right now. I'm usually never optimistic, but I trust Hoffpauir's bat right now and this team is definitely capable of a big inning. We need to shut down their O though. Well theres nothing to lose by being optimistic. At worst, we lose and we've expected that already. At best, we win.
  4. Its a bit over the top to call it horrible. Lieber can easily throw 3-4 innings regardless of what happens. But whats the point? Then he's unavailable tomorrow. Why not just let Lilly try to pitch out of it. My point is, I love that Lou manages to win every game. But once in awhile you have to accept that you're getting your butt kicked and try to look at the long term picture, which is getting Lilly on track and not overtaxing your pen. Is it that big of deal if Lieber is unavailable tomorrow? Why not get him some extended work? Getting Lilly out now will not prevent him from getting back on track. I'd like him to pitch himself out of his issues. But then again, if he's throwing 83 MPH theres no way that's happening.

  6. This is a horrible decision by Lou. Just accept a freaking loss, let Lilly try to pitch himself out of this mess.
  7. Just stop. I'm not trying to call you out Kyle, just the people who keep this going on. We get it, Lilly is batting practice pitcher today. I feel an epic comeback is coming today. And that epic comeback is the horrible green text!
  8. [Random obscure former Rockies player] just homered
  9. So... Single Single Lineout Flyout Home Run Double Double Lineout Ewww
  10. Have you collected your award for "Most optimistic poster" yet? LittleLordFontenot already won that sorry.
  11. Shouldn't that mean he should be sent down to AA, since the AAA lineup is owning him?
  12. Bah, Lilly has been a big disappointment so far this year.
  13. The 1985 Cubs were 35-19 at this point and finished 77-84. The 1969 Cubs were 37-17 at this point and finished 92-70. The 1999 Cubs were 32-23 and finished 67-95
  14. so playing those same percentages, the Cubs would go 20-5 vs. the NL West and Pittsburgh and 36-47 against everyone else Plus 33-21 so far That equals a 89-73. I guess I would take it :)
  15. Just wanted to point out that the 1977 Cubs were 47-22 on June 28th and finished the season 81-81. These threads are easy to bump :)
  16. Wow this might be one of the most lopsided polls in NSBB history.
  17. I don't think the Cubs win today unless a long rain delay knocks the starters out of this one. Cook owns us, and it looks like the Rockies have had a good run against Lilly. That said, this team is surprising me every day.
  18. I don't mind it provided they take it easy on him the next 1-2 starts. He's been doing this for years, and he turns 27 on Sunday. I've read here and in other places that high PC's are typically a bigger thing for younger pitchers. Z is now settling into the prime of his career and has been up in the PAP standings for 5 years now. I'm not saying they should just let him loose and throw 130 pitches every start, but a couple times a year, provided they are taking care of him afterwards is not a huge deal.
  19. To anyone who wants to be depressed about this hiring, read John Hollinger's article on ESPN.com about it.
