    How far did you play ball? I would imagine it is a lot tougher on the professional level with 90 mph fastballs breaking and moving all over the place, plus 40,000 fans on your back counting on you to get the bunt down.

    With the way Hoffpauir is swinging the bat, I'm not sure we miss Ward at all. He's playing the OF, not DH. The DH's have been players like Cedeno, Fontenot, Blanco.

    Or Hellickson, Davis, and McGee. Well we did have Zambrano and Prior going through the minors at the same time. Angel Guzman would be another one if he didn't get his career derailed by injuries.

    I think Daryle Ward should be fined $100,000 for being on the DL for these AL park games. That's like 20% of the reason why we have him on our team. Any word on when he is coming back?

    Why can't we ever get a dominant top prospect like Price. Oh wait...

    I kinda wish the Rays got good before they switched their unis to these horrible ones. I actually liked their green uniforms. Now those nifty green unis are going to represent failure and despair, while the blue unis will represent the new dominant era of Tampa Bay baseball.

    Would be a different story in our (read: REAL) ballpark. Still...we should at least be able to take 1 game in a series that matches up our two top pitchers with theirs....you know if we are the best team in baseball like our record says we are.

    I feel like I can't even cheer for the Rays the rest of the year because of the disaster this series has been.

    July 10, 2005. The Cubs finished off a 3 game sweep of the Marlins. Since then we've been 0-8 in this fine state.

    Call it over reacting if you want, but I just feel outmatched. Its almost as though they watched 0 game tape of this team. To be honest, the Rays look the same way. It's not like we've been blown out. We've lost 2 one run games, and are trailing by one in this one.

    Nah a run would have scored anyways. There was no way Lee was getting 2 outs on that play.

    I understand he's got good stuff, but if Shields is so great then why is his ERA+ barely over 100? He's good. Not great. His last 2 starts have been anything but stellar. He's only referring to his changeup.

    The club has pretty broad discretionary powers on what times games are. Blame TB for this, not MLB. Or blame Lakeview for not letting there be night games on Fridays.

    I wasn't aware Pat Hughes had an era. That's definitely incorrect. We were up 6 games as late as late July 2001. Since then I don't think we have been more than 3.5 up.
