  1. Why wouldn't Lou put Theriot in his normal number 2 spot?
  2. Cubs.com Should be interesting. Toronto series doesn't look good on paper but I think we can get atleast one and hopefully 2. Marquis v. Hallladay - :-& What is it? Gallagher vs. Burnett Marquis vs. Halladay Lilly vs. Litsch Ughhhh.... The second game of the TB series looks awesome though: Zambrano vs. Kazmir
  3. TheCubReporter noted this:
  4. ^^ I hate you, I was triumphantly coming over here to post that
  5. That's very interesting. When you see the Cubs being measured in that regard, thats certainly something to smile about!
  6. I agree, but if thats really the case. If we still win 63% of our games, where does the benefit of having Soriano fit in? If we 'don't miss a beat' with him out for 1/6 of the season, why would we ever miss him? I think we will play slightly over .500 ball for his time out. 6 weeks from today would be 35 games missed (luckily there are 4 off days and the All Star break during those 6 weeks meaning that literally 1 of those 6 weeks will not contain baseball). I think we go something like 19-16 during those 35 games, leaving us with a 61-40 record when he returns.
  7. Well I am going to the game today... Record at games this year: 2-3 Record not at games this year: 26-5 Sorry guys, I won a contest at work and will be in the rooftops. Maybe not being physically in Wrigley will help.
  8. It's that annoying ESPN morning radio guy and his legions of fans
  9. Your game thread got Soriano hurt last night you jerk
  10. Ughhh my roommate who is a Cardnials fan just came home and I told him about Soriano's injury which he celebrated by pumping his fist and saying "YESSSSSSSS"
  11. Complete game today, regret tomorrow. (September)
  12. You know whats (not) funny. Literally one batter before Soriano's AB, Pat and Ron were talking about the amazing number of injuries to big named players lately. Wainwright Pujols Glavine C. Jones etc etc
  13. I'm reading on medical sites that things like this are 4-6 weeks in a cast and then anywhere from 2-4 weeks of rehab to regain strength. It might 6-10 weeks before he returns. So anywhere from Late July to Late August
  14. I know he was the last remianing player still on the team from the 85 Bears
  15. Of course, Pujols' injury is better than first thought, Soriano's will probably be worse.
  16. He still hasn't hit a lot of HRs, which I realize is extremely shortsided to base one's performance on. Wonder if the wrist injury is still affecting him, or if he's just waiting for a hot streak.
  17. Everytime Mike Fontenot bats, I am reminded of the movie "Rookie of the Year" when Henry is up to bat and the pitcher is yelling "CMON! THE KIDS GOT NO STRIKE ZONE!"
  18. Braden Looper's line tonight: 9 IP 3 H 0 ER 0 BB 4 K 98 P
  19. I'm reading that a broken hand is usually a 6-8 week injury... Funny...I just had this weird feeling when I saw Pujols go down that some sort of injury would happen to the Cubs..
  20. We won't miss a beat just like the Cardinals right?
  21. I bet it's broken. of course YOU do. It's a fastball right off the hand that is clutching a bat. That most likely will result in a broken bone from what I've seen. Just being honest. What exactly have you seen? I have no idea how serious the injury may or may not be. Although Soriano going to the hospital to get x-rays doesn't sound good. Getting an X-ray is a very common, not good or bad sign. Just X-ray it and see if there is anything there. I don't remember many players getting taken immediately to the hospital during a game to X-Ray something that was no big deal
  22. WOW! This is gonna be a fun month. That's not a horrible lineup if you take their 2008 performances seriously. If you're like me and you don't, then wow. Please please keep us as injury free as possible. This kind of stuff can happen to us just as easily as it happened to them.
  23. Shouldn't that be +3 (for the Cards at least)? I remember looking earlier today and seeing that they had outperformed their pythag. Sorry, that list is completely backwards. All the minuses should be pluses.
  24. If this doesnt send the Cards on a downword spiral into oblivion, nothing will. I want Pujols to be healthy. It's going to piss me off if they start to fall off now and all the Cardinals fans will blame it on him going down, and not that they are a huge fluke that would eventually right itself out.
