  1. Smart move to pitch around Blanco to get to Cedeno.
  2. Actually with the SS playing almost directly behind 2B, he would have been out.
  3. Love to see Geo swinging the bat well. I wish some of these warning track balls would go over the fence though
  4. http://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/5172.jpg "Did somebody call for me?"
  5. That White Sox fan in green is going to be really annoying all game.
  6. Crazier things have happened than the Cubs winning tonight, but this will be a tough matchup. We need Reed and Soriano back for LHPs vs. LHP Soriano - .377 .403 .787 1.190 Johnson - .319 .414 .458 .872 Edmonds - .148 .179 .296 .475 Cedeno (essentially replacing Soriano as DeRosa moves to LF) - .232 .295 .304 .599
  7. Babe LaRue triples home 2 runs, 7-3 Cardinals.
  8. Nothing doing though. Still 5-3
  9. It his first season in the minors. No need to mess with his confidence by moving him around the field IMO. Down the line it might be something to look into though.
  10. Exactly. We are 4-7 in our last 11 games. Here are the losses. Loss number 1 to TB: 1 run loss. Could have used Ward in as DH or Soriano in LF instead of Hoffpauir and Patterson I believe Loss number 2 to TB: 1 run loss. Same as before. Also Zambrano left the game injured...could have affected his earlier performance in the game. Loss number 3 to TB: Probably not much we could have done there. Marmol and Eyre just imploded Loss number 4 to BAL: Zambrano would have started this game instead of Marshall. Also with runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs vs. a lefty, Murton came into the game instead of what surely would have been Reed Johnson. Loss number 5 to BAL: Got blown out, guess not much we could have done Loss number 6 to CWS: As bad as Soriano is in LF, probably would have saved us 3-4 runs if he was in there. Loss number 7 to CWS: Could have used Reed Johnson off the bench vs. Thornton. Soriano's pop always comes in handy in a 1 run game in windy conditions. In my estimation we probably go 6-5 or 7-4 in those 11 games instead of 4-7.
  11. The bottom is not falling out. Every team goes through bad stretches. If we played .500 ball the rest of the year we'd finish 89-73. We've been a much better than .500 team for about a 200 game stretch now. The only thing that bothers me is that we aren't playing like the World Series favorite like we were annointed in the first half.
  12. That said, I happened to goto ESPN.com and saw the Brewers are up 1-0
  13. Should have hit it harder in the 9th
  14. I think this is the Curse of the Hall of Fame Game. Ever since we had to goto that stupid thing, we are 4-7
  15. Meh, let the cards fall where they may. I see no point in sitting here following those games when we arent doing our part.
  16. Would you prefer a bases loaded 0 out situation followed by 3 K's again? I certainly wouldn't. I am going to be upset about this game all day no matter what, but I will be about 3 times as upset if they get my hopes up again only to fail. See? 1-2-3 would have been much easier.
  17. What the hell is this 2007 Cubs crap? The 2007 Cubs went 41-40 on the road
  18. Don't you ever want to be like Ramirez #$%#%(# grounded out to $#%(#%(# short, 6-3 , D Lee #$%#$^#^ holding third
  19. This is a total fake rally.....runner on third less than 2 outs and the heart of the order up
  20. Nice and easy Aram....we don't need to see you swing so hard you fall down.
