In fact, I believe Ramirez has only 3 HRs in his last 43 games. Bizarre. I wonder if it has to do with his wrist injury in early May because he had 6 HRs in April
But it was from the powerful reed johnson It's just weird how the power just stopped coming from Lee and Ramirez. Lee is at 14 and Ramirez has been stuck on 9 for awhile. Ramirez is on pace for 22 HRs this year after hitting only 26 the year before.
your like-o-meter didn't go up when he hit the game tying homer in the ninth?? Hmm...maybe I should change it. I was toying with never making it go about 0%, but he's actually been quite good lately. Maybe he'll go up to 1% or so.
I want to see this happen as well. I remember a couple starts ago they were saying Larry has been working with him because its been taking him 2-3 innings to ramp up and start throwing in the low 90s. In the first few innings, his velocity is way down and his pitches aren't as sharp. His last couple of starts have reflected that as well.
BUT REED HAZ POWAH. I SEEN HIM DONE HIT THREE WHOLE HOME RUNZ. And two against righties. And even with those 2 HRs, his SLG against righties is just .330 His SLG against lefties is .441 And I realize SLG is not always the most important factor leading off in a traditional sense. Well his OBP against righties is .289. Against lefties its .410
Exactly. Unless Lee is really gassed, I don't see the reason at all. Lou probably just wanted to get Hoff a start and determined that this is the best way to get him in the lineup.
Again, I don't care if Reed hit a HR against a righty yesterday, Reed sucks against righties, and if you insist on him playing every day in Soriano's absense, please do not hit him leadoff.
Eh, he'd still be available tomorrow and we basically have an off day on Monday so its fine with me. I'd rather not see him after pitching 2 innings on Thursday. This is still Kerry Wood we are talking about. Any use might be overuse.
