  1. Wuertz is one frustrating pitcher to figure out. 4 batters, 2 H, 1 BB
  2. Nope I don't. The key is...can the Cubs pen hold this deficit at 1?
  3. If I'm feeling indifferent about watching an entire baseball game, I usually watch the Cubs ABs when they are losing and the oppontents ABs when they are winning.
  4. Funny sport baseball is. Reds score 4 runs on 6 hits in the first 2 games of the series combined, and through 3 innings today they've scored 4 runs on 6 hits
  5. Wuertz will come in to finish the inning and pitch the next Lieber will pitch the 5th and 6th Gaudin will pitch the 7th Howry will pitch the 8th Wood will pitch the 9th
  6. You could tell in the first he just didn't have his stuff today. Oh well, he's our 4th starter :)
  7. Board pessimist speaking: I am still not worried about losing this game.
  8. This is a case where you need OPS much more than simple BA. Pretty much all cases its better to use OPS vs. BA. I could only obtain his BA vs. Lefties in the CBS Sportsline application I was using.
  9. I was stunned to see last night that Lilly is only 4th in the NL in HR allowed.
  10. Dunn hits .183 vs. lefties...no need to walk him Lilly
  11. Cubs winning, Brewers and Cardinals losing. Good start to the day!
  12. Remember 2 weeks ago when we all assumed a DP in this situation?
  13. Holy hell. My mouth was agape the entire time I watched that.
  14. Just read this in an ESPN chat by Keith Law: Tim (NYC): Vitters/Moustakas: A year out, who would go first (with Heyward clearly going before both)? SportsNation Keith Law: (1:08 PM ET ) Vitters. I've heard from people who've seen him this year that he looks outstanding in the NWL.
  15. +1. I have never understood why people hate Corey so much. Could be his .169 BA and .477 OPS after June 1st in 2005.
  16. Its not so much getting carried away as he fills a temporary void. When Reed Johnson starts, Cedeno is our main righty off the bench, and it would be nice to have one who MIGHT be able to hit a baseball. But like I said above, it doesnt matter. He can't hit lefties, and kills righties, meaning basically he is another lefty that happens to hit from the right side of the plate. He doesn't help us match up any better than Daryle Ward does.
