I don't know. They had a decent team last year, and some people thought they underachieved. Don't know if they are better after their offseason moves. Lost: Ryan Church Mike Gonzalez Kelly Johnson Adam LaRoche Javier Vazquez Rafael Soriano Gained: Melky Cabrera Jesse Chavez Troy Glaus Erik Hinske Scott Proctor Takashi Saito Joe Thurston Billy Wagner Not sure what their minor league situation is like, maybe someone can fill me in, but those offseason moves don't overwhelm me. -
Yeah no doubt any team left in this tourney can beat the US and possibly should. This is the stage where things get tricky. I'm hoping like you said our speed and youth can be an x-factor in our favor as their tournament continues. Most of these players have played 2/3 of an NHL season and have been playing every other day or every day for the last 10 days in pressure packed games which has gotta take it's toll eventually.

This discussion on Kane is barely on topic, let's stick to the Olympics. Finland and Czech Republic are on now. Winner plays the USA on Friday. Who should we be cheering for? I'm guessing Finland but they have looked pretty good in this tournament. The question is, which one is a worse matchup against the USA. I'll admit to not knowing too much about either teams strengths and weaknesses.

i think they're playing way better than they did against USA. they look unbelievable right now My point was that Canada didn't play poorly against the US. They were on the attack most of the game. I guess you could say that they must be playing better because everyone considered Russia a better team than the US going into this tournament and they are getting manhandled by them while the US won.

Wow this goalie is hanging on by a thread, don't even wait until the start of the 2nd to put him in, they could score 2 more goals on him by the time the last 30 seconds pass.

Canada is not really playing really better than they did against the US...Russia just doesn't have a goalie that stops everything. Miller was barraged with shots and not just shots, good shots on nice feeds and nice setups. And with that said 4-1. Time for Nabi to go drown his sorrows with vodka.

This Dayton-Temple game has set basketball back 50 years. It's 39-29 Temple with under 5 minutes left in the game. The halftime score was 19-13. Dayton is shooting 11-47 (23.4%) and Temple 16-48 (33.3%)

It's allowed it's just kind of random. It's a 4 year old article that gives no news or insight that hasn't already been discussed ad nauseum for years on NSBB. I do wish there was a "random baseball thoughts/random cubs thoughts" thread where you could post little things like this and not have to start a new topic. I come across things occasionally where I want to share with the board, but it doesn't seem to be big enough for a new thread to be started, so I end up not posting it. -

I think the USA would have to seriously overlook their QF opponent to not at least make it to the semi's. And if that's the case, they are looking good for a medal. If they lose in the semi's, they'll play for the bronze, and if they win they goto the finals. What a big win this was.
