I think they just had a horrible collapse. A lot of defensive breakdowns and poor goaltending. I think after the first 3 goals, they were shell shocked as they just piled on. I love that they just now finished reporting the barrage of goals for team USA

About 40% of the pages in this thread are a long winded discussion about how clutch/unclutch Kane is. People were pointing out Kane's only goal in this tournament before today came in a 6-1 laugher.

Making the giant assumption that the US holds on (still obviously tons of time, can't jinx it) and Canada wins their game, I am not going to be able to eat or sleep until the gold medal game.

Yeah sorry he's having a horrible Olympics. The only goals that count are goalsl in the third period of a game that is within 2 goals. Everything else is just showboating.

Geez. 3-0! I hate to draw everything back to the Blackhawks since not everyone is a Hawks fan, but this reminds me of the SJ game we had on that road trip last month, where they went out and got 3 real quick goals the first 10 minutes of the 1st period. Let's hope the comparisons stop there.

I gotta say, I've really fallen in love with this USA team. They are underdogs, but they are so young that they collectively play much better than people gave them credit for before the tournament.

So the Hawks are still practicing during this break? I really hadn't found much to read about them over the last 2 weeks. I thought they all went off and had a vacation, or maybe had a week off and are not practicing to stay sharp for next Tuesday (only 5 more days until Blackhawks hockey!)

equally hilarious are the second wave of posters who come in and begin their typical "HAHAHA you guys are sooo pathetic. Look how worked up you got. Ohhhh mannnn you should have seen your faces!" shtick; after good news is reported, of course. Most of you guys are, the sky is not falling because a pitchers shoulder is sore. And after good news is reported? Come on now, i dont live here like some of you guys so i dont know the latest breaking news about the cubs every single minute of the day. The funniest thing about this is that I didn't see anyone panic over this.

Jumping on the hawks bandwagon now wouldn't be like wanting to be a bulls fan in 1992, they had already won a title by then. Also, it's not like Chicago has a Jordan on the roster and you are just waiting for the inevitable title. It is not a foregone conclusion by any means that they win. I think they are a perfectly acceptable bandwagon to join, especially if you are just getting into it. Jersey has the plus of being a team that will beat the NY and Philly teams, but other than that, they are fairly boring. This is true. I'll take it under advisement. Plus you don't live in Chicago so you won't be branded as someone who gave up on the team during the last 15 years and is now coming back when the times are good again.

Doesn't really upset me. Angel has been in the Cubs org for almost 10 years and he's never been able to be counted on. If he pitches great but don't plan your season around him being your setup man.

Delay rules make sense. The helmet rule doesn't. i'm okay with the delay rule when a player lifts the net off the moorings, but if he accidentally plays the puck up over the glass? there's no need for that to be a penalty, especially when they stop calling everything else late in games. seen that stupid rule decide too many games, defenseman swats at a rolling puck and it goes up over the glass, trying to make an outlet pass to a streaking teammate down the board and puts it a little too high, etc. just make it a defensive zone faceoff with no change for the team in their own zone, similar to an icing. or give the refs some discretion into the player's intention. I don't like the "puck goes over the glass penalty" either but I understand why it's there, so that you can't clear the puck into the crowd and get a stop. Plus if it's deflected into the crowd at all it's not a penalty. However, I've seen too many penalties called when the player has no intention and no need to put the puck in the crowd and does accidentaly.

Looks like it might be Finland. After a long 0-0 draw for the first 2 2/3 periods, that goal let up by the Czech goalie was awful. Right between the pipes.
