    Yeah I won't be shocked at all if Cutler throws 15-20 INTs this year. Anyone who thinks Cutler's INT problems are suddenly over because he had a 4 game span with only 2 INTs (with 2 games against Detroit) is a moron. That's not to say there is not improvement there, but Cutler is always going to make bad throws from time to time. If he can move the offense like he has the last 2 weeks, I can live with the occasional INT even if occasional for Bears fans is slightly more than league average. That's why I get annoyed when I see all these "Cutler's turned the corner" articles that I've been seeing. Because while I agree its possible Cutler has turned a corner, I understand he's probably going to have a game in the near future where he has more INTs than TD passes, and when that happens the media is going to jump back into "Same old Cutler" mode.

    Pete Prisco is really high on the Bears. First he has them 8 in his power rankings with a write up of them at the top of the power rankings, then he has the Bears beating the Packers, 36-27 in his predictions.

    You don't think you could get anything at all in a trade for Favre? Even if it is a 3rd string WR or something, it seems better than the potential of dropping him for nothing then someone picking him up and beating you in the playoffs with him.

    It wouldn't surprise me if Gruden's presence in Dallas brought back Drew Henson, Chad Hutchinson and Drew Bledsoe just to try them out again. I'd just about guarantee that Jeff Garcia would find his way on the roster there as well. Vinny Testaverde would probably show up uninvited as well.

    Don't worry, McNabb 16 starts in a season one in the last 6 seasons. Rex will get his chance.

    Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he made the comment about a veteran lineup not scoring because we had a lineup on Sunday for of AAAers that many people assumed wouldn't score at all, and they scored 9 runs, then we run the regular 'veteran' lineup out there and they get shutout. I don't think he's saying 'dont play the veteran lineup', I think he was just making a humorous observation. Obviously the biggest difference is that Andrew Miller started on Sunday and Matt Cain started last night.

    Isn't Vick's contract up after this year? I thought he originally signed a one year deal with a team option for this year. If so, they wouldn't be able to trade him in the offseason (unless I have no idea what I'm talking about). You're right but I would think unless Vick has no interest in resigning, the Eagles would try to extend him midseason even if they plan on trading him in the offseason.

    I'm also putting in a claim for Thomas, dropping Gaffney. I am debating dropping Jake Delhomme and picking up Bruce Gradkowski for a backup QB. I am in a 12 team league that starts 2 QBs, so only 8/12 teams have true backup starting QBs on their team. So while I know Gradkowski would be a much better option at QB, I am not sure if I should drop a guaranteed starting QB for one that hasn't officially been named starter. Any thoughts? Also, if I lose the claim on Thomas, I'm thinking of picking up either Heyward-Bey or Tolbert. I know Tolbert is a RB but are there any better WR options you'd recommend?

    McNabb is turning 34 in November, plus Vick had a couple years off. This is absolutely the right decision. You have a lot of good pieces around Vick and that offense will be so explosive with him at quarterback. Vick can play at least 3-4 more years at a decently high level. Whoops on him actually being 34. I'm not against the decision at all. Like I said, best case scenario, Vick plays awesome all year and the Eagles have to trade him or Kolb in the offseason. It will be interesting if there is still a stigma for acquiring Vick around the league if he has a great year and is on the block. They might be forced to give up on Kolb. I could see Kolb being a team player about it this year, but no way he shuts about about this next year too. The man was told repeatedly that he was their QB for the next 10 years.

    No one cares but my fantasy team is pleased at this decision and welcomes the two headed Brees/Vick combo. Didn't the Eagles cut ties with a 30 year old McNabb so that they can get younger before it's a year too late with McNabb. Well now you have a 31 year old as your starter. I'm guessing the Eagles plan is to stick with Vick and hope he keeps playing this well all season and then trade him in the offseason and give Kolb another shot.

    It's amazing how well a team can play when the lights dim and the pressure of winning goes away. Helps that we've played some mediocre teams lately too. Not saying it's not a good thing what they are doing, I'm just saying if you plan on fielding this exact team next year, prepare to have another year like this one.

    What do you think has happened to the special teams? Still coached by the same guy. Obviously the personnel has changed quite a bit, and Hester has gotten less effective as has Maynard, but you gotta think the coach should have something to do with the effectiveness of ST play. I do believe it's hard to get consistently good special teams play from year to year because its rare to have someone like Ayenbadejo who is satisfied with being a special teams specialist. Most of them are younger backups that either the Bears want to keep on the active roster in case of injury, so they have to fill up Special Teams, or they are borderline marginal roster players who are on the roster over other guys because they can provide value to special teams. The later seems like the only place where they have input to improve his return blocking, etc. Edit: it's also very possible sample size is at play since we haven't had any sort of sizable returns, and we gave up a TD on a punt return.

    I would honestly say Rex has a very very slight edge in arm strength based on what I remember seeing from both of them. Cutler is much more accurate downfield though. That ball to Knox was a bomb though...it was around 65 yards! Anyways, another advantage Cutler has over Rex is the fact that he's 2 inches taller than Rex. I always felt that a lot of Rex's issues came from him not being able to see the entire field well enough when he was under pressure, so he would often make incorrect reads or go off memory of the play and hope there wasn't a safety hiding behind the arm of that lineman that's in his face. Cutler's vision is much better in those situations because a) he's 2 inches taller and b) as you mentioned his pocket presence is superior to Grossman's, and he can move around inside and outside the pocket better than Sexy Rexy. It's sad because Rex has a lot of tools that a lot of QBs wish they had including arm strength and confidence. But he's also missing important tools that kept him from being more than a good backup, marginal starter.

    We shoulda beaten Michigan last year. IU keeps talking about how they need to run the ball. I say, run be damned. Throw the ball every play if you need to. Got four freaking 6'3+ WRs. We intercepted that ball fair and square. :)
