  1. 1-7 at halftime and 7-28 for the weekend. He's shooting around 41% in January. And yet the Chicago media refuses to acknowledge that he's in a shooting slump. He's still contributing a ton to this team but he is not elite when he's shooting this poorly, he's "only" at an all star level.
  2. The ASG is in 3 weeks. Let's say Bosh comes back in a week, as speculated. I'm not sure either Bosh or the Heat even want him to play in that game two weeks removed from an injury. Really, I feel the same way about Boozer. He's injured enough, let the guy have a week off. You really think mr. "I just want to be on TV" would pass up an opportunity to play on another all star team as part of the heat trio?
  3. I'm pretty sure Bosh will be back well before the ASG. I would assume he's in.
  4. Who wants to risk a minimum 15 yard penalty, maximum ejection in the NFC title game?
  5. AUGIE! AKA the man on base when Sosa walked off against the Cardinals in September 2003. Edit: Also the man that had a 1.101 OPS in 11 PA's against the Cubs in the 2007 NLDS grrr
  6. I'd love to see what he could put up with a good team. I think he'd still have killer rebounding numbers, but with better options than Beasley and whoever else, I think he'd have trouble maintaining his scoring numbers.
  7. The funny thing is about this whole thing is, despite the claim in that one article that he had tears in his eyes during the post game (a claim that I haven't seen anyone back up), I have to think that Jay Cutler doesn't give a [expletive] about all this crap. That's just Jay. He doesn't care, he'll go to dinner after the game, he'll go walking around LA with his celeb girlfriend who he knows will attract attention. He's just being Jay Cutler, he's playing the game for him and his team and doesn't give a [expletive] about what anyone else thinks or whatever other controverseys popup. If he cared, he'd probably have a knee brace on, or walk with a cane or whatever. But he doesn't even walk with much of a limp. Because he doesn't care if people think he's tough or whatever. He knows he's tough, his teammates know he's tough, his friends know he's tough, and that's good enough for him. At least that's how I imagine things.
  8. Amare's stock has dropped significantly since the Knicks came back to around .500. It's a lot more than Rose vs. Amare though. I think LeBron will be his biggest challenge. I know people won't agree, but I think based on how bad the Cavs are this year, and his jaw dropping numbers , he will be a serious contender, and probably win. I think Rose can win, but I think voters probably prefer not to vote him in if there's another decent candidate in the realm of Rose. The reason being that Rose is young and has time to win MVPs. If someone like Dwight Howard steps up in the 2nd half and puts himself in contention, I think he'll win it. Or Chris Paul or whoever. I would think it will be difficult for Rose to overcome one of the more established names, like LeBron. I could be wrong, obviously. Well the thing is, Rose is getting lots of pub right now as a legitimate MVP contender or even favorite. ESPN has him as the MVP favorite right now, you have people like Barkley calling him the MVP, several other people have jumped on the Rose is an MVP candidate bandwagon. He's gonna get a lot of votes. The hype isn't just coming out of Chicago. But I still think when it comes down to it, like I said above, unless no other candidate steps up, a player that has more years in the league will get it over Rose, with the justification that Rose will get his some day. It's what LeBron went through earlier in his career too.
  9. Ask Paul Pierce how that worked out for him.
  10. I know CB is not super important in Lovie's defensive system, but there are 3 decent to pretty good CB's that should be FAs this offseason. Asomugha is obviously the best of the bunch and not someone we need to set our sights on. But there's also Champ Baily and Antonio Cromartie that are available. The Packers picked on Jennings the entire game and I think I read gained yardage on 9 of the 13 times they threw his way in the NFC title game. He's obviously not the long term answer. I know the Bears are big on Joshua Moore, but if we could get one of those 2-3 guys, it could be quite beneficial for us, and quite the insurance if Peanut retires/leaves/is injured.
  11. DID IT MENTION STAIRS? Did you read my entire post?

  13. which way to the old information thread? I did not say that Collins' injury was new news. What I wanted to know is whether Lovie knew Collins was injured and took him out for that reason. Would he have stayed with Collins if Todd wasn't hurt? I didn't think that was discussed. If Lovie would have stuck with Collins and only went to Hanie because he was hurt, that decision is really inexcusable in light of what happened at Carolina. you presented two pieces of old information as news. you have a certain principal skinner-iness about you. Old information? The Cutler-steakhouse-stairs news was only reported a few hours before I posted it. No one had commented on Collins' injury as it related to him getting pulled yet. I wasn't aware that I you would get all over me for bringing up an angle about a story that was only a day old. You are just looking for a fight as you usually do. I saw a story about Cutler going out to that restaurant with Kristin Cavalari after the game in the Monday Red Eye. It wasn't until Tuesday that the subject of taking the stairs was reported.
  14. Isn't the Ambassador position new? Meaning I don't think anyone will have your exact experience of interviewing for a position like this. I know Roast worked on the gameday staff for a couple of years, but I haven't seen him on here in awhile.
  15. I'm not sure if you are thinking of a different situation or misremembering, but the first TO I remember in game 17 this year was on a 3rd and 11 and was a draw to Chester Taylor, who ran 15 yards for a first down, but was called back due to a timeout.
  16. I just thought of this but when the Shields made that last interception to seal the game, was anyone else thinking, STRIP THE BALL! Second time in 3 Packer playoff games that the Packers caught a game ending interception and had the gall to try to run it back when falling down would have ended the game.
  17. If you're talking about the 3rd down pass on I believe the 1st or 2nd drive, the throw was fine. Hester stopped the route and picked it up again too late. Should've been 6. I thought it ran out of bounds. Didn't Hester leap up as the ball sailed over his head?
  18. If that's true, Cutler is the biggest badass ever as, like the video points out, he scrambled for like 10-12 yards, and instead of sliding, stiff armed Woodson and took a hit to get tackled. It also means his complete "healthy" performance was 2-3, 25 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT. His post injury performance was 4-11 55 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT We will never know for sure, and he'll never get excused for that performance no matter how much evidence comes to light. All he can do is try to stay healthy and kickass in future playoff games. Also he still had one really bad overthrow to Hester in the 1st quarter that ended a drive and would have made it 1st and goal with an accurate pass, so not all can be excused.
  19. I guess whatever you were an impressionable 9 year old that liked the man wearing green hopped up on painkillers dancing around the field every time he completed a pass. Fine. But once you grew up and saw what that green team stands for (Wisconsin, cheese, hicks, spousal abuse), why wouldn't you come to your senses? I would even be ok if you were impressioned by the vikings at an early age, but the Packers? People from Wisconsin hate Chicagoans and everything we stand for a vice versa. I'm sure true Wisconsin people don't truely respect the Bulls/Cubs/Hawks/Packers fan, as well as the Chicagoans. So you in this weird no man's land. Obviously you are not going to change now, and whatever, I'm not saying you aren't allowed to. I just don't understand the thought process that says that it's ok to like anything Wisconsin but their beer. It would be like saying "I really hate Hitler and everything he stood for. Well, except I think he had a point with that whole final solution thing."* *sorry..if that offends anyone, I will remove it.
  20. Actually most Packers/Cubs/Bulls/Hawks fans I know grew up in Chicago but grew up during a time where the bears sucked and were irrelevant and the Packers were one of the top teams in the league with Favre. So they turned their back on their Chicago roots and rooted for the idiot Packers..
  21. I'd do it too. It's worth it for the awesomeness the first 5-6 years bring.
  22. I have wondered the same thing since I heard that Collins was hurt. I'm guessing that Hanie came in because of the injury. Hanie came in with about a minute left in 3rd, handed the ball off twice and that led to the 4th quarter starting. Why is this significant? Because if you bring your emergency 3rd QB (which Hanie was) into the game before the 4th quarter, your other 2 QBs cannot come back in the game. So if Lovie was gonna pull Collins, it's likely he would have waited til the start of the 4th to do it just in case Hanie really crapped the bed.
  23. Are the Cavs ever going win another basketball game this season? 18 losses in a row and their next 3 are against Denver, Orlando and Miami.
  24. Good news I guess is 20 of their last 32 games are on the road. The hawks actually played decent tonight and outshot the Wild in all 3 periods but couldn't get it done. I feel like the hawks are incredibly unlucky in that regard. Really tough loss to a team on the Hawks heels in the playoff race. Looks like it's gonna probably come down to the very last day of the season to determine whether the Hawks make the playoffs.
