  1. Isn't the Ambassador position new? Meaning I don't think anyone will have your exact experience of interviewing for a position like this. I know Roast worked on the gameday staff for a couple of years, but I haven't seen him on here in awhile.
  2. I'm not sure if you are thinking of a different situation or misremembering, but the first TO I remember in game 17 this year was on a 3rd and 11 and was a draw to Chester Taylor, who ran 15 yards for a first down, but was called back due to a timeout.
  3. I just thought of this but when the Shields made that last interception to seal the game, was anyone else thinking, STRIP THE BALL! Second time in 3 Packer playoff games that the Packers caught a game ending interception and had the gall to try to run it back when falling down would have ended the game.
  4. If you're talking about the 3rd down pass on I believe the 1st or 2nd drive, the throw was fine. Hester stopped the route and picked it up again too late. Should've been 6. I thought it ran out of bounds. Didn't Hester leap up as the ball sailed over his head?
  5. If that's true, Cutler is the biggest badass ever as, like the video points out, he scrambled for like 10-12 yards, and instead of sliding, stiff armed Woodson and took a hit to get tackled. It also means his complete "healthy" performance was 2-3, 25 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT. His post injury performance was 4-11 55 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT We will never know for sure, and he'll never get excused for that performance no matter how much evidence comes to light. All he can do is try to stay healthy and kickass in future playoff games. Also he still had one really bad overthrow to Hester in the 1st quarter that ended a drive and would have made it 1st and goal with an accurate pass, so not all can be excused.
  6. I guess whatever you were an impressionable 9 year old that liked the man wearing green hopped up on painkillers dancing around the field every time he completed a pass. Fine. But once you grew up and saw what that green team stands for (Wisconsin, cheese, hicks, spousal abuse), why wouldn't you come to your senses? I would even be ok if you were impressioned by the vikings at an early age, but the Packers? People from Wisconsin hate Chicagoans and everything we stand for a vice versa. I'm sure true Wisconsin people don't truely respect the Bulls/Cubs/Hawks/Packers fan, as well as the Chicagoans. So you in this weird no man's land. Obviously you are not going to change now, and whatever, I'm not saying you aren't allowed to. I just don't understand the thought process that says that it's ok to like anything Wisconsin but their beer. It would be like saying "I really hate Hitler and everything he stood for. Well, except I think he had a point with that whole final solution thing."* *sorry..if that offends anyone, I will remove it.
  7. Actually most Packers/Cubs/Bulls/Hawks fans I know grew up in Chicago but grew up during a time where the bears sucked and were irrelevant and the Packers were one of the top teams in the league with Favre. So they turned their back on their Chicago roots and rooted for the idiot Packers..
  8. I'd do it too. It's worth it for the awesomeness the first 5-6 years bring.
  9. I have wondered the same thing since I heard that Collins was hurt. I'm guessing that Hanie came in because of the injury. Hanie came in with about a minute left in 3rd, handed the ball off twice and that led to the 4th quarter starting. Why is this significant? Because if you bring your emergency 3rd QB (which Hanie was) into the game before the 4th quarter, your other 2 QBs cannot come back in the game. So if Lovie was gonna pull Collins, it's likely he would have waited til the start of the 4th to do it just in case Hanie really crapped the bed.
  10. Are the Cavs ever going win another basketball game this season? 18 losses in a row and their next 3 are against Denver, Orlando and Miami.
  11. Good news I guess is 20 of their last 32 games are on the road. The hawks actually played decent tonight and outshot the Wild in all 3 periods but couldn't get it done. I feel like the hawks are incredibly unlucky in that regard. Really tough loss to a team on the Hawks heels in the playoff race. Looks like it's gonna probably come down to the very last day of the season to determine whether the Hawks make the playoffs.
  12. One step forward, two steps back... This team is such a tease.
  13. But he didn't look like he wanted to play. He didn't look like he cared. As an aside, I argued with a friend today. I asked him if Peyton Manning left a game with no explanation would you question his heart. He said, "no because Peyton never misses a game". When I told him Cutler only has missed 1 game in 4 years as a starter and that was after a game in which he got sacked 9 times. He said, "he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt." When I asked why....the conversation ended. People are dumb. On Deadspin today, they posted an interview of some ex-Packer I vaugely remember, and he made a comment about how Cutler's tampon fell out on national TV. Whatever. In that interview he made the oft used argument that you would never see Tom Brady leaving an AFC championship game. Come the [expletive] on WE DID SEE IT HAPPEN! IN 2002!
  14. Does anyone remember how badass his MLB debut was? He came on in like the 15th inning of a game back in 2003, where the Cubs were leading (in Milwaukee) and struck out the side, allowing the Cubs to sweep the Brewers.
  15. Yeah, I just had a virus issue on my computer and was on the phone with our IT guy. During the downtime between running virus scan, he began to make small talk with the line "So who are we going to get for QB this offseason?" I asked him why he thinks we need to get a new QB, and he said "Because the one we have has no heart. If you can ride an exersise bike you can throw a damn football." Rolling my eyes, I said oh ok I think its working now, have a nice day, and hung up.
  16. After the next 2 games against Orlando and Indiana, 11 of the next 14 are on the road. Gonna be tough. I hope the team steps up the intensity and plays like the early part of the season. I am glad the games are getting harder though. It's been almost a no-win for me to watch the Bulls lately. Either we easily outclass an inferior opponent we were supposed to beat, or we lose to that inferior opponent and that makes me upset. Don't get me wrong, as much as its "boring", I am greatly greatly enjoying it and remember even last year not being able to count on being good enough to beat a team on any given night. I'll take boring any day.
  17. Please please please. It would be nice to get a conference victory once in awhile. Staying in the Big East would give DePaul maybe a 0.0005% chance of ever making the NCAA Tournament again, while going to the Horizon League would probably give us a 25% chance.
  18. GUESS IT WAS A BAD CHICAGO OMEN HUH?
  19. Valid point but Nelson isn't coaching there anymore and their pace has slowed down a bit this year.
  20. On pace for 57-25 despite only playing with our 3 best players at the same time for 9 games. The Bulls would have to finish the season at 18-19 or worse to avoid winning 50 games. They would have to go 29-8 to win 60 this year.
  21. Monta Ellis is a better comparison. Everyone on the RealGM bulls forum was mocking him last year (ellis) for his hollow scoring average because he was a chucker and shot a low percentage. Well this year Rose has scored and shot slightly less, but has a slightly lower shooting percentage than Ellis. Rose does shoot better from 3 and gets to the line more, but still. The theme seems to be slow starts. I normally don't bother watching the 1st quarters of games for whatever reason, and when I turn on the tv and load up the box score, Rose is seemingly always a 1-7 or 2-9. And then at the end of the game its something more respectable like 8-20. Another key difference is that Derrick Rose is a lot better at basketball than Ellis. Which would be a good point if I said that Derrick Rose and Monta Ellis are the same exact basketball player in all ways instead of just suggesting that their scoring efficiency is similar. Or at least last year's Ellis vs. this year's Rose. This year Monta has a .549 TS% and Rose .538. Rose has a higher offensive rating (110 to 108) and offensive win shares (3.7 to 3.1) because he, you know, does more offensively than scoring.

  23. I agree. I almost feel like there is some sort of national Chicago hate. I know that can't be true though. Maybe around the midwest there is since we are the big city or whatever and we have loud and boisterous fans. But I've also noticed a lot of people randomly hate on DRose as well. And surprisingly when the Hawks were making a run to the Stanley Cup last year, seemingly neutral team's fans flat out didn't want us to win the Stanley Cup. Maybe its just what I've noticed and isn't really the case with a larger sample size, or maybe I'm just noticing the haters due to being a proud Chicago supporter, I am not sure.
  24. What the hell portion was that?
  25. Mike Wilbon: Are you flipping high? Aaron Rodgers had a QB rating in the 50's yesterday and was fairly ineffective after the first quarter. How the hell is he the reason the Packers advanced past the Bears in the NFC title game, which is where Cutler led his team?
