  1. This was the 4th shutout of the season, 2nd at home. 28 Fri, Dec 3, 2010 Vancouver Canucks L 0 3 71 Thu, Mar 17, 2011 @ Dallas Stars L 0 5 76 Tue, Mar 29, 2011 @ Boston Bruins L 0 3 Like I said, 3 shutouts in our last 8 games, only one all season before that. Offense is offensive right about now.
  2. The Cubs bats finally come alive and we win this one.
  3. So Dallas wins tonight in regulation, and closes the gap to 3 points with 4 games remaining for each team. Anaheim remains a point up with 3 games left for them. Remaining schedule: Chicago: @ MON, vs. STL, @ DET, vs. DET Dallas: vs. CBS, vs. COL, @ COL, @ MIN Anaheim: vs. SJ, vs. LA, @ LA I'm guessing Dallas gets 7 points from that schedule, the Hawks 4 from theirs, and Anaheim 3. That would leave all 3 teams tied. If that were the case, here is how the tiebreakers look: Regulation wins: Anaheim: 40 Chicago: 36 Dallas: 34. Dallas will likely win 3 if not 4 of their last 4 games (if they are in a position where they are tied with the Hawks that is), but who knows if they will be in regulation, so the Hawks need to probably win 2 games in regulation to feel good about winning that tiebreaker. Head to head % against each other: Chicago 1-2-1, 3/8 points Dallas 3-1-0, 6/8 points Dallas wins there and goes to the playoffs while the Hawks sit out. According to Sportsclubstats.com, the Hawks entered today with a 96.4% chance of making the playoffs. After tonight, the odds drop down to 86.5%. Also, Calgary won tonight, keeping their slim hopes alive. They are 1 point back of the Hawks with only 2 games left to play. Hawks need 4 points in their last 4 to ensure the Flames are not a factor.
  4. Hawks are just 5-5-2 since their 8 game winning streak ended.
  5. Annnnnnnnnnd....the Hawks get shut out on their home ice 2-0. Very very frustrating. Team is really missing Sharp and Bolland. Just 13 goals in their last 8 games, including 3 shutouts. Prior to this 8 game stretch, they were only shut out 1 other time all year. Hawks outshot the Lightning 31-14 in the loss. Looks like the 8th seed will be our destiny if we can hang on.
  6. I swear, the Hawks are the only team that gets delay of game penalties, and they get them like every game. They have 2 today alone. I cannot remember the last time our opponent batted one out of their defensive zone for a penalty.
  7. We haven't had one of those "outshoot the other team by a large margin but get shutout and lose" games in awhile.
  8. lol wow....TB goalie plays the puck in the restricted zone...the ref is looking right at him, puts the whistle to his mouth and......doesn't call a penalty. Replays shows he clearly played it where he wasn't supposed to. Would have been nice to have a PP oh well
  9. For all the firepower TB has, they really grind it out. They remind me of Minnesota sometimes. Quite annoying.
  10. Anaheim vs. Dallas tonight. Who should we cheer for? If we win or at least get a point tonight I'll probably be cheering for Dallas. If we get nothing tonight then I'm not sure. Anaheim is 1 point ahead of us for 7th and we have 1 game in hand I believe. Dallas is 5 points behind us for the last spot and even in games played.

  12. Why would you think that? Um, perhaps because that's what they've always been for? Ski was by far not the only one complaining about the Cubs today. There is a difference between complaining and "Only the Cubs" BS. Of course, they all returned here in the long run. People are going to vent. They did? I seem to remember game threads routinely being over 60-70 pages. This game thread would have probably been the lowest posted game thread of the season in 2004.
  13. Gah, of course Anaheim is up 2-0
  14. What's the math regarding that after this game? i don't know exactly, but i know we clinch a higher seed than miami by going 3-3, and a higher seed than boston by going 4-2 (unless we beat boston). that's assuming those teams win all their remaining games Basically, beat Boston and it's over without a complete meltdown Yup, if we beat Boston and go 0-5 in our other games, the Heat and Celtics would have to go 5-1 in their other games to finish ahead of the Bulls (The Celtics would win the tiebreaker over Bulls in that scenario by virtue of a better conference record).
  15. Now only 1 game behind SA too, and if we beat Phoenix in our next game, we will likely have the tiebreaker.
  16. I still think they were told to attack Maholm early in the count today, at least in their first ABs. And it worked because they were smoking the ball...just at the Pirates. They worked the count fairly well on Opening Day.
  17. Sigh. Not the same without Ronnie. Yup, I kept waiting for an "Alright!" after the DeWitt hit, but all I heard was silence.
  18. Dallas lost again tonight (to LA though). I think they are just about done. 5 points back with 5 to go. Hawks just need 5 points in their last 5 to eliminate them. San Jose is playing Anaheim right now which is a big game for seeding. Anaheim is 1 point ahead of us for 7th with equal number of games played (1 more after tonights game) We still have a pretty good chance to get a 5 seed or even maybe a 4. Nashville is 3 points ahead of us for 6th but 2 more games played, Phoenix is 4 points ahead, also with 2 more games. LA is 4 points ahead of us for 4th, but only 1 more game played, so we'd need some help for that 4 seed.
  19. Talk about hot and cold.....this is Toronto's second half: -Start the 3rd quarter by making 14 of their first 17 shots. -Then miss 10 in a row to end the 3rd and start the 4th. -Then make 11 of their next 13 shots. Overall 25-40 shooting in the 2nd half (63%)
  20. Was that Carlos Marmol at the game? Sweet
  21. He's Aaron milesing you guys.
  22. What are those hats that everyone is wearing lately? They are winter hats that are shaped like a bear and wraps around your head. I just saw a Bull shaped one too. Yesterday I saw at least 50 people wearing them, and now just watching on TV I can see a bunch of them.
  23. Another 3-0 green light? At least I like that one better than yesterday
