    Love how the Padres offense was from a 85mph .210 xBA single and a HR that only goes out at Wrigley and whatever Miller Park is called now.

    The Padres arent particularly annoying to me, its the Cubs being unable to hit or pitch with their bullpen that is annoying. Doesn't matter who we're playing.

    lol everyone yelling at Craig to keep the starters in because the bullpen sucks, he does and now people are mad he didnt trust his pen. Can't win.

    This is 2023 all over again. They started 14-10 in April, then the offense went into a tailspin and the bullpen was bad. This team is keeping their heads above water but the trend is very similar to me.

    If we don't come back this will be the 7th game we've lost while leading in the 8th inning or later (you knew that was coming) 19% of our games this year, nearly one out of 5, will be of that variety

    If for some reason the Cubs retired the Padres 1-2-3 in the 8th, Neris would be facing the 3-4-5 guys in the order in the 9th, presumably still nursing a 1 run lead.

    They have literally no other choice but to allow 0 runs. That's 30 consecutive scoreless innings from the Cubs starters

    That was a tough throw for Morel. Should have just held onto it knowing his issues with accuracy and Busch's extreme issues with catching the ball. But I'll take the result lol

    We wouldnt have to worry about whether we should extend our starters beyond what Counsell is comfortable with if our offense could score a couple freaking runs to give us some cushion. This is so damn frustrating.

    Is this Ivan Demidov guy like the Russian dude from last year who won't come over for a few years? Edit: Just googled it, hes under contract with the KHL for 1 more season, so the earliest we could see him in Chicago if we take him is 2025-2026 season. Wouldn't hate taking a blue liner like Levshunov who is projected to go 3rd.

    Damn.... finished with number 2 overall. Everything went exactly by the book. I'll take it but getting number 1 would have really put the rebuild into hyperdrive.

    Blackhawks had the highest odds of having the 4th pick, but they have made it to the top 3. Final 3 is revealed after a commercial break

    Even though half of them are still slumping, Bellinger in there immediately makes the lineup look noticeably better
