[expletive] the HOF. I'll obviously be happy if he makes it but I'm not eagerly anticipating the results. I hope that if he does make it, his son accepts it for him and tears apart the HOF.
Interesting. That's quite different than most managerial searches. Most are done rather privately with little comment from the candidates. Unfortunately, I do not trust the Chicago media to ask the questions that I'd like to hear for the most part.
1.Boston 2.Chicago 3.St.Louis Yeah I gotta think the attractiveness of the St. Louis job is based on whether Albert returns to them. Boston is in a bit of disarray, but is much closer to winning than the Cubs at this point.
I obviously didn't watch them as much as you guys but I swear every time I saw them, Dempster was pitching in the 6th inning at 110 pitches obviously gassed, Koyie Hill was playing, and the lineup could have been drawn out of a hat. Edit - or what Rob and Outshined said I was also disappointed at his Dusty-like "gotta play my vets dude' philosophy down the stretch this season.
Why? Have you seen any evidence that he wouldnt sign with the Cubs other than he grew up a Cardinal fan? If he likes living in Chicago, and the Cubs are offering more than the Sox and the Cardinals arent interested, he will sign here.
Hahaha, this article tries to tell us that the Cardinals would still be contenders without Pujols: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20111031&content_id=25849446&vkey=perspectives&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
Going to be interesting to see Theo go head to head against his old team for a manager. Theo has been scouting manager candidates since the season has ended so that's gotta be a good thing.
These are definitely uniforms that we'll see in old video 15 years from now and say 'what the hell were they thinking' Of course, we are saying that already
The original team has to pay the player his entire salary. Not certain, but I'm assuming the players can sign for any amount with a new squad. Or maybe just league minimum, who knows. Either way, the players that are cut are likely able to be had for cheap.
Duncan Keith is injured. I didn't see anything about Sharpie being injured. Q said he's day-to-day. Also, did anyone see that Kyle Beach suffered a serious shoulder injury in Rockford? Boy his stock has gone downhill fast.
