  1. I like it...its different but its not drastically different. Good stuff. I don't know why, but Ive always liked this Chicago lettering. http://www.nfljerseyswholesaleauthentic.com/pic/Chicago-Cubs-Authentic-1990-Ryne-Sandberg-Road-Jersey-by-Mitchell--26-Ness-5814-30114.jpg Probably because its letting they used when I was a kid. But as far as your suggestions...if they go with the blue lettering, the people that bought the super cheapest road jerseys a few years ago get something much closer to replicas...just need to add red trim: http://www.sportsblink.com/product_images/aramis-ramirez-chicago-cubs-road-grey-mlb-replica-jersey-3158157.jpg
  2. And now Michigan is running the absolutely most unimaginative plays in the history of football and going 3 and out and giving Nebraska great field position. ............unless they rough the kicker...woo hoo
  3. Thanks...so hopefully finishing off Nebraska (up 14 points with a quarter to play) and beating Ohio State can get them up to 14 (they are 18 now and will surely jump Nebraska).
  4. 31-10 Michigan wow. Save some for Ohio State guys! I havent had to consider Michigan and the BCS at large chances in awhile. Everyone keeps saying they are alive for one but there are so many 1 loss teams ahead of them. How does that work?
  5. That's because the Cubs front office does not allow leaks!
  6. This dude named John Rhoads told me on Facebook that he wasn't going to watch the Illinois game today.
  7. Michigan State 31 Indiana 3 I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Michigan will not be heading to Indianapolis in 2 weeks.
  8. Ugh, the momentum in the Michigan-Nebraska game changed quite quickly.
  9. Wow, nice coverage safties
  10. lol Corso
  11. Is that a good thing? I'm not so sure that it is. What would lead you to believe that he would make a good pitching coach? He often had trouble throwing strikes. He had trouble keeping his arm healthy. He had trouble preventing blisters. I don't think thay any of that necessarily disqualifies him from being a pitching coach but I don't see a whole lot that makes me jump up and down about the idea either. Havent we proven that there is little correlation between how a player is during his playing days and the types of things they emphasize in a coaching role. I mean it's not like he would tell pitchers to not worry about being wild. I'm sure he knows that's bad, but he's struggled with control during his career for whatever reason. If a pitcher with good control starts working with him, I doubt they all the sudden change his arm angle and turn him into a wild pitcher. All that said, there's little to no evidence that Wood would be a good pitching coach down the line. There's also not a lot of evidence that he would be necessarily bad either.
  12. No surprise but Simmons is now in love with the Bears. He brought them up several times in his latest broadcast with Lombardi talking about how difficult they will be to beat in the playoffs and at the end of the show he gushed about how he loves this Bears team. Remember that this is a very similar Bears team to the one that was called the luckiest flukiest team ever with Simmons leading the charge. Anyways it seems like the bears have gained a ton of people on the bandwagon this week. Tons or articles about how dangerous we are, and people taking about matching up with the Bears in the postseason, as if it's assumed that the Bears will be in the playoffs. I don't believe that "us against the world" has a significant impact on performance, if at all, but I do feel quite uncomfortable with the Bears being in the unfamiliar position of media darlings. However, Lovie seems to be a master motivator and will surely find a way to get the team thinking that they have been slighted in some way.
  13. That kind of sucks. Lose the best offensive lineman and the lineman with the most upside in one week. I wasn't completely down on losing Williams knowing that Carimi might eventually be able to find a spot on the line, but now that he's gone, I am nervous to see how the line is the rest of the year. The line sucked last week, especially after Williams left the game so hopefully a week practicing together (with Edwin) gets them better.
  14. I am assuming he was releasing that to Rangers fans? Seems odd that he would release that, almost if saying "Hey, I hope you enjoy that Cubs gig that you got because I dropped out"
  15. I'm not sure how legit this excuse is, but 670 had the Brewers PBP guy on this morning (not Uecker the other one) and he was asked why that happened and said that the Brewers had him as one of their favorites but ultimately were worried that the players liked Sveum a little too much and he would let them walk all over him so they brought it someone from the outside. And then last offseason, he was never a legit candidate because by hiring him, it would be like admitting they made a mistake 2 years earlier by not hiring him then. Again, it would just be posturing, but that was the excuse given.
  16. Dammit, I was just in the area but am now downtown otherwise I would totally do that.
  17. I think when the "old school" guys talk about this they mean a player should never dog it or pose for a HR and it ends up being a single, etc. Errors are part of the game and they understand that. ok, so what do you want when they do dog it? do you really think you're entitled to an apology? sorry, but it reeks of "that lazy mexican doesn't DESERVE to be playing major league baseball when there are so many scrappy white guys from georgia or whatever that run out pop ups, and the mexicans are just rubbing it in the faces of those that DESERVE to be playing in the majors by not understanding/appreciating what they have been given." Also, do you really think that most managers just ignore stuff like that when it happens? Do you think its handled only when the manager comments on it?
  18. Welcome back Ben Smith!
  19. Hello Mr. Sveum, Da Bum, Williston Herald, I figure I mineaswell ask you, how do you feel about the 49ers season so far? They remind me of the 1997 Purdue football team.
  20. There goes our shot at a 103-59 season.
  21. I'm suprised Kaplan didn't ask "Hey Dale, aren't you glad Aramis Ramirez isn't coming back this year?"
  22. Good for him, he probably needs to do it more than once every 5 games, with the other 4 being complete offensive duds or this is going to go the other way. That said the defense is decent, if inconsistent. They've allowed less than 25 points in 7 of their 10 games, with the other 3 games being 49 points, 45 points, and 29 points.
  23. Dunno about that. At some point he's gonna need to score 25-30 points to win a game and I'm not sure he can do it. Agreed. Blah blah blah, if he runs a legitimate offense 20% of the time, he's not going very far eventually.
  24. This is pretty stupid, but it would be nice to not have to see the Big East and ACC winner waste a BCS game playing each other.
  25. Dunno about that. At some point he's gonna need to score 25-30 points to win a game and I'm not sure he can do it.
