Most good NFL teams are extremely dependent on their QB and when he goes down they usually suck. The Packers, Patriots, Saints, Falcons, Cowboys, Giants, Steelers, etc. would all be having a Bears like run right now if they lost Rodgers, Brady, Brees, Ryan, Romo, Manning, Big Ben for the season. When Brady went down in the first game for the rest of the sea son the PAts went 11-5. But the Bears don't have the best coach in the history of sports. I think the Steelers would hold together some level of competitiveness without Big Ben, too. Not playoff level, but losing every single game wouldn't happen. They lost Ben for the first 4 games last year (or was it the year before?) but Dennis Dixon and co went 3-1 in his absence. The issue is that the Bears have a horrible offensive line right now and no reliable receivers. We were an offense that absolutely needs Cutler in there due to his pocket presence elusiveness and arm strength so he can throw darts while scrambling. Very few QBs would better fits for our offense than Cutler. So when you take Him away you have a horrible offensive line and receivers who won't help you at all. Hanie sucks but he was doomed to fail. I still think that Chris Williams loss was way way underrated as something that derailed the bears season. Cutler was good despite getting constantly pressured but Hanie wasn't going to succeed with this line.
