  1. According to this article, the Eamus Catuli sign remains but not the part where they track our futility. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2012-03-23/sports/ct-talk-eamus-catuli-sign-0323-20120323_1_ricketts-family-president-theo-epstein-lakeview-baseball-club Yeah its a slow news day.
  2. Garza must be 501 then
  3. Not much you can do there with 3 seconds left, but throwing it 75% of the way down the court near 3 Kansas players is not what I'd do. Also catching the ball and immediately shooting despite having enough time to get your feet set, or at least pass to the open dude next to you is pretty dumb.
  4. How to [expletive] Up Horribly in the Last Minute of a NCAA Tournament Game by NC State Wolfpack. 2 terrible shots in one possession, couldnt come up with a rebound on an opponents missed FT, terrible play run out of a timeout that involved throwing a cross court pass over 3 defenders for some reason. And yet they still have a very slight chance
  5. I still think that Butler shot in the National Title game would have been one of the top 20 most memorable sports moments ever if it had gone in.
  6. Wow I thought that was going in for a second. That would have been amazing.
  7. That sucks. Guy gets knocked in the head, takes his time getting back up the court leading to the defense being out of position and giving up a wide open 3. Not what you want to happen nursing a 1 point lead with under a minute left.
  8. Take for example the win over Michigan State this year. Illini fans sure enjoyed it despite setting basketball back 50 years.
  9. that tweet was fake. tons and tons of more coming in God dammit I refuse to believe this until it happens. ok, i'm not so sure, now. i'm just going to stop making claims. welcome to the world of following sports rumors on twitter
  10. Well yeah, of course. Where were you when IT happened? I could have been anywhere, doing anything, I don't remember. I blacked out from anger. I very likely threw a tantrum on NSBB, because that's just what I do.
  11. We're down to 251. 3 Cubs and 2 former Cubs in this batch, Kerry Wood (282), Alfonso Soriano (296), and Marlon Byrd (297). A bit high for Soriano. I assumed if he wasnt in the 350-500 range he didnt make the list. But I'm a Sori hater so... Former Cubs Carlos Zambrano (259) and Kyle Fansworth (280) make the list as well.
  12. Sadly, that's not the first thing I remember about his year with the Bears. I wonder if this changes Forte's thinking at all, if he thinks the Bears knew about this when they signed Bush. Probably not because everyone speculated that Barber was gonna get cut anyways, but who knows.
  13. They loving signing away our special teams guys (Ayanbadejo)
  14. Are all Purdue fans as cocky about their team based on wins from literally 70 years ago, or is it just the ones on this board? Indiana is 73-59 against Purdue since 1940 It's like arguing the Cubs have the upper hand in the Cubs Cardinals rivalry because they lead the all time series due to a bunch of wins they had when they were actually good between 1900-1945.
  15. i like that. did you come up with it yourself? No I couldnt remember if you were bears or cubs (i think you were bears in that ill fated football forum) and in my haste didnt feel the need to look up to the top of the post i was replying to.
  16. He had his best statistical season last year (or at least did until the injury), and many people were finally noticing how valuable he is. In terms of pure performance, he has never been as desirable as he is right now. The injury he had is not expected to slow him or his career down from everything I've read, and wanting out has little to nothing to do with his value. The Bears can keep him if they really want to duke it out over signing the franchise tag, and they can franchise him again next year if they really want to. True Forte can force the Bears to do something by sitting out a season, but even after today's outburst, the situation is still rectifiable if they want it to be. so give me a [expletive] break minnesotawhatever
  17. Edited the OP to reflect 301-350. 3 Cubs were in this batch of 50, David Dejesus (308), Anthony Rizzo (346) and Paul Maholm (347). The immortal Angel Pagan (324) was the only former Cub in this batch.
  18. If there was any time to trade Forte, it would probably be now while his value is near his highest (knee injury and contract situation knock him down a bit). The Bears better get at least a 1st out of him.
  19. VDN likely has very little time left as the Clippers coach after losing to NO tonight. The Clippers have won only 7 of their last 19 games, and are inching closer to 9th place in the West (they are up 1.5 games over Utah). How a team with Paul, Griffin, Jordan, Williams, Young and Martin could possibly miss the playoffs is unfathomable to me.
  20. Meh, he's not the only coach who supports his own player's dirty hits but wants extreme action taken when his guy is injured with a dirty hit.
  21. Congrats on turning the public against you Matt! The bridges are starting to become burned. I have no doubt that the Bears could somehow rectify this if they wanted to, but I am leaning towards thinking Forte is going to be traded before the draft. Both sides, especially Forte's are handling this terribly.
  22. Yeah, they clearly would have addressed the O-Line at least a bit in FA if they really thought they needed a lot of help. As for the draft, they might draft someone for the line but I don't think it will be someone we expect or even hope to contribute last year. They've already used their last 2 first rounders on it, and they have already made moves to help the offense in other areas, so in their minds the offense has improved, while the defense is sitting there aging. I keep going back and forth on the O-line. I certainly don't think its good as it stands right now, but I don't think I hate the Bears for not addressing it in FA as much as I did a week ago. I'm sure the Bears consider last season a lost year in terms of evaluating how good the current line can be. One of their 1st rounders played 1 full game, and the other was having a breakout year before getting injured for the season 6-7 weeks in. If both can play to their potential, Garza will do his usual mediocre job, maybe Webb can appove from 'Terrible' to 'Sucks', and the line might not be as much as a weakness as most people believe. Also consider that Marshall (and hopefully another WR) gives the Bears a guy that the other team's D has to respect, and hopefully that will mean less of 7 men in the box or whatever the D does to focus on getting at the QB or stopping the run. I still think the line is the 2nd most position group in football behind QB, but since the Bears seem to not place a lot of emphasis on it, I guess there are other ways to lessen the burden of the line at least somewhat.
  23. Maybe they didn't name Crawford because he only faced 23 shots? I dunno, but it was clear to anyone watching the game that he made some pretty tough saves and certainly deserved to be one of the 3 stars. Oduya's shot was heading wide of the net when Shaw deflected it - and I don't think he was particularly trying to shoot it at Shaw's stick, so it was a bit odd that he got the nod but at the end of the day its meaningless.
  24. This what our 4th attempt in 4 years at finding a reliable backup RB? We had Kevin Jones, and he injured himself in the preseason and didnt give us anything, then we had Chester Taylor who blew chunks before cutting him, last year it was Marion Barber who was ok except he single handedly lost us a game that in hindsight would have likely put us in the playoffs so he's gone. Now it's Michael Bush. On the bright side, the backup RBs keep getting better as they come in.
