I know everyone knows how annoyingly dominant Boston has been in all sports the last 10 years, but its still mind-blowing to actually look at the numbers. 10 years 39 team seasons 30 playoff appearances (77% of seasons) 10 conference titles (26% of seasons) 7 championships (18% of seasons) I mean holy hell. To compare, here is Chicago's decade: 10 years 49 seasons 18 playoffs (37% of seasons) 3 conference titles (6% of seasons) 2 championships (4% of seasons) All championship game/series appearances: 2012: Patriots play in Super Bowl 2011: Bruins win Stanley Cup 2010: Celtics lose NBA Finals 2008: Celtics win NBA Finals 2007: Red Sox win World Series 2007: Patriots lose Super Bowl 2005: Patriots win Super Bowl 2004: Red Sox win World Series 2004: Patriots win Super Bowl 2002: Patriots win Super Bowl Broken down by team: Red Sox: 6 playoffs, 2 championships, 2 AL championships Patriots: 9 playoffs, 3 championships, 5 conference championships Celtics: 8 playoffs, 1 championship, 2 conference championships Bruins: 7 playoffs, 1 championship, 1 conference championship Even the freaking Revolution have been to the MLS Cup 4 times this decade. What game are you referring to? The 2007 NFC Championship game. Just looked it up, he missed a 43 yard FG attempt to give the Giants the lead with 6 minutes left in the 4th, missed a potential game winning 36 yard FG attempt on the last play of regulation, and then finally hit in OT to win it.

Ugh, that's just a brutal punch in the gut for 49ers fans. Good news for them is that the Giants have Tynes, the least clutch kicker ever in the times I've seen him kick in big games.* *He hit a FG to send the Giants to the SB against the Packers, but was his 3rd attempt at a game winning FG.

I'm not sure what you mean there. I meant punting wasn't an option because of the time left, so with going for it being a higher percentage play than kicking, it was the choice. Oh. You don't have to try to score there IMO. There was 2:53 and 3 time outs and NE's running game wasn't great (as it was they threw twice). And I think that if they truly believed that they weren't going to get the ball back, they would have attempted the FG there. Because even if they get the 1st, they still haven't scored, they still have 25 yards to go and could still throw an INT or fumble or get sacked out of FG range. I suppose you could be right but to me at first glance it seems like they should have kicked the FG. I'd rather have the points on the board and secure that tie, because if you don't get it anything can happen. Pats can run out the clock, they could score a TD and make it a 10 point game, etc. All you get for getting 6 yards is a new set of downs. Of course by listening to the post game, it seems like 53 yards was absolutely not in Cundiff's range, so maybe its a moot point. He did hit a 51 yarder earlier this year though.

Converting 4th and 6 has to be higher percentage than a 53 yard FG there, and you have to try to score since they're under 3 minutes left at that point. I'm not sure what you mean there. omg it was blocked. I was not expecting that.

Am I the only one that thinks this was the dumbest decision ever? A few reason why: -It was 4th and 6, so there was no hope of drawing the other team offsides and getting the 1st down for free. The opponent also knows that. -If you don't get the 1st down, you are giving them decent field position (better than being pinned) and have to hold them to 1-2 first downs to have another chance to score. -If you do get the first down you are still likely somewhere around the 25. No means is that a likely TD, and if you don't advance on the next set of downs its still a 42 yard FD. -If you kick and make it's tied, if you kick and miss its the Pats ball at the 43ish...not much worse than the situation where you go for it and don't get it. Seems really odd decision there. I know that's a tough FG and I don't know what the wind conditions are or how good the Ravens kicker is so I could be wrong, but assuming no overly drastic wind conditions and an average kicker, I'd have kicked it there no brainer.

wings and blues both won tonight. Of course they did...they win every damn game. Wings have won 6 in a row (4 of them in shootouts wtf) Blues have gotten points in their last 9 games, winning 8 of them. Hawks had gotten points in their last 7 games before tonight, winning 5. Predators have won 10 of their last 12 games. These 4 teams have a combined streak where they have taken 60 of their last 68 points available. There is only 3 non-Central teams in the NHL that have more points than our 4th place team (Rangers 64, Bruins 62, Vancouver 62 vs. Nashville 60). Best division in hockey by far.

I don't know if thats completely true. Dungy to me has always seemed like a much much better in game coach and it was a big part of what made him successful.

Wow we are just super screwed with injuries so far. Noah, Taj, Rose and Lucas all out. To this point Rose (5 games), Watson (9), Taj (1), Noah (1), Lucas (not that it matters but 1) and Hamilton (10) have missed a combined 27 games so far this year. Hilarious that Scal and Mike James have to play rotation minutes tonight and we're still winning currently.

So sad about Joe Paterno. I know he's a horrible person for what he did, but it's really sad to see him go from a legend at Penn State to disgraced, to fired, to probably dead in a span of 3 months. I almost wonder if he wanted to die or lost the will to live and stopped cancer treatments leading to his sharp decline in health. A little fishy just because originally it was said to be a treatable form of lung cancer. I am almost certain that if JoePa was still the coach at Penn State and the Sandusky thing didn't occur, he would not be on death's doorstep as we speak. Similar to Bear Bryant without the disgracing.

Matt Vogrich sucks so badly this year. Shot almost 40% from 3 last year, shooting 21% this year and still taking at least 3 attempts per game. He just shot an air ball 3 when he was wide open, and a possession before that the ball went out of his hands so awkwardly is was no where close to going in. Just looked it up, Michigan is 31-121 from 3 over the last 5 games. That's an average game of 6-24.
