  1. Bet you enjoyed that destruction. Rose or no Rose that was a beat down.
  2. Always nice to see OSU get so close only to painfully lose.
  3. Wow what a gaffe by Kansas. It probably won't hurt them in the end, but this one was over.
  4. Thanks for the positivity. I don't particularly think the Hawks are going to make a run, but I don't think there is a favorite at this point in the West. Detroit is struggling big time, St. Louis has started to struggle and just lost by 3 goals to Columbus tonight, Vancouver is rounding into form but we all know of the mental problems they tend to have. I definitely think the Hawks can get by Dallas but will have trouble with SJ or LA. I still think the Hawks have a better shot against those 2 than Detroit and Nashville. The defense and goaltending are below average but have been better lately. As much as we rag on Keith (and rightfully so) he does bring some value to the defense, just not 1st defensive pairing value. Getting him back and getting Toews' 2 way game back (hopefully) should help with that. Crawford has either been pretty good or terrible this year, with the later being more common. But if he comes in hot like he did in the playoffs last year, anything can happen.
  5. What about Sveum - MOY?
  6. Alright I'll take it! Blowing a 4-0 lead sucks but the Preds are just annoying and will do that. Hawks clinch a playoff spot and tie the number of points they scored last year with 3 games left. They are now tied with Detroit for the 5 seed (but Detroit has the extra game) and 1 point behind Nashville for the 4 seed (even in games played). I think the 6 seed is still the most desirable. I want nothing to do with a Hawks/Predators matchup, and while a Hawks/Wings matchup might be beneficial if Jimmy Howard is hurt, I feel like there is still a bit of a mental block with Detroit. Plus, despite good results this year, the Wings still matchup pretty well against the Hawks and play a similar style of hockey. NAS 98 3 games left DET 97 4 games left CHI 97 4 games left Remaining: Chicago: vs. Minnesota (tomorrow), @ Minnesota (Thursday), @ Detroit (Saturday) Nashville: vs. Minnesota (Tuesday), vs. Dallas (Thursday), @ Colorado (Saturday) Detroit: vs. Florida (tomorrow), @ St. Louis (Wednesday), vs. New Jersey (Thursday), vs. Chicago (Saturday)
  7. My friend is at the game and he said this is one of the loudest arenas he's ever been to. It does seem really loud on TV.
  8. SHAW!!! Sweet pass! Nice bounce back. Nashville was dominating us but all you need is one good chance.
  9. And the collapse is complete....4-4 Nashville completely owns us. Completely. If we lose this one the Predators will be 5-0-1 against the Hawks this year.
  10. I'm surprised you think the Brewers are going to win the Central.
  11. freedom hater Do you honestly think that legalizing weed is going to increase the number of marijuana users in this country? Maybe slightly, but not enough for that to be a reason against legalizing pot. Are potheads really killing this country more than the excessive jailing of petty criminals?
  12. Ugh...4-3. Sweet goal though. If we blow a 4-0 lead and lose....
  13. 4-0 lead, I thought it was about over so I concentrated more on the basketball game. Flipped back over a few minutes later and saw the lead cut in half. Ugh. Nashville will never die.
  14. I've lost Ramirez (actual jersey won from NSBB), Lee and Harden (wtf was I thinking). Still ok with Soto and Marmol thankfully.
  15. Plus basketball jerseys are made super long to reflect the jerseys the players wear and you either have to tuck them in and look like a geek or let them hang past your knees and look like you are wearing a dress.
  16. I'm gonna go ahead and disagree. I like it only when attending a game or going to the bar to watch a game with the team involved. I despise people who wear jerseys just to wear them on random days for no reason. I especially hate hipsters who think its cool to ironically wear old basketball jerseys. If I see one more douchebag in an Alonzo Mourning Hornets jersey that barely fits them at Lolla, I am going to punch them.
  17. It was a little tip Dale got from Dusty. "Catchers gotta hit 8th dude" Yeah that's terrible. I knew the lineup looked weak, but seeing the lineup together in that particular order mades me sad. I keep looking down the list looking for the "heart of the order" and it never comes.
  18. Clayton Kershaw got traded to the Nats? Damn that's huge news.
  19. Cool. They previously wore those jerseys back in 1997 for the very first Cubs/Sox interleague game in which the Cubs won big: http://cbschicago.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/51653240.jpg?w=300 Not sure if they've worn them since.
  20. I gotta say despite the rather unusual streaky season by the Hawks, there have been a few really positive developments this year. The emergence of Shaw, the improvement from Leddy, Kruger looking like a legitimate top 3 line NHL player, Stalberg kicking it up to a level that many people didn't think he could get to. And there is still a crapload in the pipeline. Unfortunately other than Leddy, there hasn't been much to be proud of in terms of blue liners, as well as goalies. I was hoping by now we would have an idea of who our long term goalie is going to be. But if anything we are further away from knowing that then we were the day Niemi signed with SJ.
  21. Moot point for tonight as least as Phoenix dealt SJ another blow to their playoff hopes. I'm traveling to Dallas for business next week and going to the Stars/Sharks game so I'm really hoping that SJ is still in the race at that point
  22. Also nice to prevent St. Louis from clinching the division on our home ice.
  23. Hawks have actually outshot their opponent in 9 straight games with the Hawks outshooting their opponents by 8+ SOG 7 of those games. 6-1-2 during those 9 games.
  24. Yay, we win the crapshoot. Hawks were 4-2-0 against mighty St. Louis this year.
  25. Yup, same can be said about the game against NJ earlier in the week.
